Our best chance to get minifigs of more obscure characters like Squirrel Girl is for them to show up in the MCU. Far from a guarantee of course, but still more likely than a random comic-inspired set

Of course  The only reason we haven‘t seen pictures yet is because the Marvel and DC sets scheduled for August weren‘t featured in the catalogue. We don‘t even know what most of them are

Lego keeps superheroes under lock and key as if it were an important license, but the quality is for a B-series license… I never understood this thing…….

I'd say it's for secrecy but NWH has been out for a while and the Keaton Batfilms even longer.

Ok, I understand the secrecy, but the new star wars can appear in the catalog, why not super heroes? obviously there will be a reason, but it is beyond my imagination

Could be a multitude of reasons. Marketing strategies, licenser demands, etc. Also, there are quite a few regional differences between these catalogues. For instance, the Italian one in Jan 22 was the only one to feature the cancelled OW2 set

There’s a claim being made by lego_minleaks on Insta that the No Way Home set is being delayed or canceled.

Apparently he claims he works in retail and that the set isn’t listed in August 1st releases. Anyone think he’s legit or making up BS? I get “my uncle works at Nintendo” vibes from him but after LEGO has cancelled other sets this year, it still made me a bit worried.
 

I really hope it’s BS. It would be stupid of LEGO to cancel arguably the most anticipated Marvel set of the year, heck, I’d say the NWH set is the most anticipated LEGO Marvel set in a long time. I get why LEGO would can the Temple of Doom, Jabba’s Palace and Flash set, but Canning the NWH set makes zero sense. I’m thinking it’s a fake leaker who’s impatient waiting to see the set images so they decided to make a rumor up to stir something.

Off topic but I like your new profile avatar, I must admit sometimes it's hard to tell apart all the users with the same generic basic starting default one, so it's nice to see you move on to something more unique and recognisable.

Thank you! I've been wanting to change it for a while but I'm wimpy and waiting for someone to convert the image to the right format :-D also it works as a warning for those who don't want to read my complaints lol and by the way, I think this new instagram is the usual time waster… just yesterday MinecraftGoat said the set is still going on, and as you say there's no reason for a cancellation

Even if this person is telling the truth, a set not being visible in a single retailer‘s system doesn‘t mean much. Maybe they just haven‘t added it yet, that specific retailer will carry it later, or it‘s exclusive to another retailer

TLG cancelling the only truly great Marvel set this year would be par for the course though

Truly great? We haven’t even seen it yet! For all we know, all the minifigures are made using existing prints and the statue looks like a big green box.

It includes all three Spider-men and three iconic villains, so that makes it a great set by default, especially in comparison to the  other Marvel output this year  Sure, there might be some reprints (like Electro‘s face), but most of them should be new. I’m not really concerned about the build itself as the minifigs are the stars here

I mean, @Lego_Minecraft_Goat already confirmed the NWH set is still happening on this very thread page so I’m not going to worry.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Lego do cancel it though, it would be on par with the course of absurd decisions they’ve been making lately.

Bigfigs returning sounds good, but do we really need a third set based on the finalbattle in Endgame, and also the third one to feature Thanos at that?

But we shall see. Bigfigs not being dead is the main takeaway

Endgame with Thanos 2021, Valkyrie and Okoye would be disappointing but Endgame with iron patriot mark2, hawkeye and new iron spider would be fine. Any set with Infinity War version Thanos would be perfect. Any set with a new Hulk too, especially 2012.

And in any case knowing that it won't be a buildable figure or a helmet is comforting to me :-D bigfig is not dead
