Expect the official reveal of the batcave tomorrow morning

i am a bit underwhelmed, while i see that this is geared for the very old adults ho just was a display i was expecting something to look like the bat cave from the movie and not just a box.

You shouldn't have been expecting that when the rumours said it was going to be a box! 

But to be honest from the rumours I was imagining something that ONLY looked like the bat symbol when closed up, but then has the big reveal of being a Batcave inside.

As it is, this is the bat symbol but you can already see the cave inside, so I can't imagine the reveal is all that exciting, because it's all kind of there already. Perplexing indeed.

Figures are really a let down.. All could have used leg printing. 

The closed option is growing on me, but would rather have them use the pieces another way.

That looks like the Old Man Marley torso, is the Shreck torso a reuse too?

Who thought this boxart looked compelling? It looks fake! Its not even properly aligned! It looks like those old Nintendo DS "classic games" covers.

My goodness. They can't even budget premium Minifigures for their premium "definitely going to go on sale" set.

Catwoman looks so unfinished with the unprinted ear piece and unprinted legs. She's like half Catwoman.

The new cowl looks like a ridiculous bobble head next to the '89/'92 one. Just look how huge that is.

And I'm still not seeing it be contrasty enough for the shadow box effect to work all that well, but once there are reviews with photographs in slightly less controlled settings, we'll see.

Using the Black Panther ears for Catwoman when a perfectly fine Catwoman cowl already existed is mind boggling. And to not give her arm or leg printing when she desperately needs it is just so disappointing.
 

Which is a shame since she is the only one on the list that actually sounded intriguing. But the execution is just bad, like the rest of this set.

Obviously looks better than the original blurry pics, but still a huge disappointment imo. The figures look unfinished with no leg printing. Also don't understand why it comes with one batman fig with the rubber cowl and one with the standard cloth cape.

Lego has really dropped the ball on the last few d2c super hero sets (Hulkbuster, Black Panther). I'd consider this for 30% off though.

What I dont understand is, why specifically Batman Returns? Why not Keaton's Batman in general?

Not that it would've made this *much* better, but why would they shot themselves in the foot like that?

Like who thought "Yeah, Christophen Walken's character and a spinning chair are going to be the top selling points of this set!".

Granted, not that the Burton movies have that many interesting looking characters minifigure wise, but gimme the Joker and a few goons, or some penguins or something.

Yeah, it could've had a fun and eye-catching scene even with this Penguin invading the Batcave with penguin henchmen, but instead it's like "here's a pretty generic Batcave on a wall, and um ok you can have some characters from Returns too, here ya go".

Yes, but that's what I'm saying. Why Batman Returns in particular? Why not both Returns and 89?

Like I can understand The Flash not being included because Lego doesnt want to be involved, fair enough, but I dont understand why picking up only Returns.

And I thought dc was about to get a massive W for a change...

I prefer marvel over dc (no offense everyone) but this set actually makes me sad, it's just a big box, something in the style of the batman classic TV series batcave would have been way better than this set, figures are awful, best part of the set is the batmobile, but we're already getting another one this summer! So there's no reason to get this set, and you can just get the figs on Bricklink or something like that!

I like it but for what it could have been, its a massive disappointment. Lego had two great choices which were the comics batcave or this but with flash-centric figures like 2013 Barry, Main Barry, Zod, Supergirl, etc kind of how they did for the sanctum sanctorum with the infinity war/multiverse of madness figures.

This has neither. 

But weirdly enough the opened side of the batcave does remind me of the forrestfire version so thats sorta nostalgic

Part of me likes it … but thinks I’d just remove the front wall and leave it as that to display.

Catwoman is a huge disappointment, such an iconic character and outfit in Returns and TLG have dropped the ball on this.

I just hope I can get the batmobile on its own if the other set is still going to exist.

I think I'm gonna save myself some money this year... Which is a huge shame as I was really looking forward to this set. The 2006 batcave still hasn't been topped. The figures are really a joke, it's the bare minimum, maybe not even that, Max Shreck is entirely made from existing pieces. That Arthur Weasley torso isn't even accurate, and that old Man Marley face has been in a bit too much d2c sets as of lately. Not to mention they also used the old man marley torso for Bruce...

Lego seems to have put the batcave up on shop at home for $400 not $450 even tho in the press kits for it they list it at $450

Ok the Batmobile’s flip-up guns function in such a small set is dope. Also has the flame attachment. Better than the GWP in every way

But it looks like the operation of this is a Technic black gear which sticks out on the right side of the car.

It’s £344.99 here in GB, on sale I might pick it up. That’s if I have any money left from this year 😂
