Let's get a Keaton batmobile too ( preferably returns based with a batmissile function and penguin and Catwoman included. Wait, I'm confused, Brick Clicker said the flash set is the 1989 keaton batmobile right? Or am I missing something?
spiderfan2000 Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Yeah, I thought the Flash set already has the Keaton Batmobile covered. I think the Bat-Skiboat would be a good choice for a Batman Returns set.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Glad to finally hear about some DC sets. An affordable 1989 Batman Batwing is a great idea, especially with the Batmobile being released as a Flash set. (Getting kinda excited about this movie too. Everyone who's seen it at test screenings says it's one of the best superhero movies they've ever seen.) A Batman figure is well, whatever, but at least DC finally got one, so can't complain. Same goes for the 4+ Batmobile. Intrigued to see what the other two sets are. 28 minutes ago, Falconfan1414 said: DC is getting at least 2 more sets this year Do they have anything to do with Aquaman? (Please say yes )

I thought it might've been a flash treadmill modified batmobile or some other new batmobile, after all Lego is not afraid of having multiple batmobiles on shelves. 28 minutes ago, Falconfan1414 said: DC is getting at least 2 more sets this year Ah, okay dare I ask if that includes the Flash set? And I'm guessing it doesn't include the Gotham skyline?

It leaked through an Italian website, and someone translated it incorrectly. For some weird reason, the name stuck It's actually called Batmobile: The Flash Chase.
Legocentrico Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Oh wow a batwing including batman and joker! incredible! I'm glad that lego wants to bring back great dc comics!!! lol
TheBatstan Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 (edited) Well well, I guess this upcoming wave is going to be the summer of Keaton. All that's missing now is a set for Batman Returns with the Batskiboat to round out his vehicle lineup (in live action at least, if Lego really wanted to complete the list they should make a small set with the Batcycle from the Batman '89 comic from 2 years ago). The big Batman buildable figure is an easy pass for me though, I wish I knew why Lego is going all in on these figures because surely they can't be selling THAT well. Getting a minifigure scale 1989 Batwing is a surprise, especially since Keaton's Batman will be flying a new Batwing model in The Flash. You'd think Lego would make that version instead of the first one, but the 1989 one is much more recognizable so it makes sense. It's funny because the Batwing from 2019 that came in the Riddler set with Shazam was pretty much 99% accurate to the 1989 design, you just needed to remove the unnecessary missiles and stickers and you were all set. The Batman in this set is definitely going to be be wearing the 1989 suit, so even if the Flash Tracking set uses Keaton's 2023 Batsuit, we'll at least have one version of his design that can fit in the 1989 Batmobile. I just hope the Joker in this set either has a hairpiece this time or a hair/hat combo piece like what the new Indiana Jones figure is getting, plus his comically large pistol. Yeah, that 2019 is close, although I think it may need a different cockpit. In any case, psyched to be getting more Keaton Batman sets as a huge fan of those, but I must say, I'm a little sad nothing for Catwoman or Penguin. With that said, they may come in the other two sets or polybag, so I won't give up hope just yet. By the way, does anyone think that last 100$ set with 700 pieces might be a Batcave? It seems about the right price range and piece count, although it may have been clarified to just be Marvel.

That would be absolutely amazing.

That would be a dream come true. Although perhaps a bit too similar to 70909. Then again 7783 was a Penguin attack on the batcave as well, so Lego definitely appears to like the combination, definitely my two favourite versions of the batcave. However, let's be real, this is waaaaayyy too wishful thinking, especially after the lego dc drought lately.
Nylock Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Now that we know about the batwing, I do believe the 92 poly bag will be returns based and include either Penguin or Catwoman. And in a perfect world, both.

psqidexslizer Posted February 12, 2023 Posted February 12, 2023 Well, that's disappointing. Another Batman '89 set? With another Keaton Batman and Nicholson Joker. If we can't get sets based on the movies we have coming out like Shazam and Black Adam and if we can't get comic based sets featuring characters in those films, can we at least get sets that aren't based on the same three Batman movies? Batman Returns, Batman Forever, The Dark Knight Rises, heck even Batman and Robin? I'm not even gonna bother listing any of the others because we're more likely to get Batman fighting Howard the Duck as a set than even a Superman I or Superman II set. And a Batman buildable figure? Does anyone even like those? Didn't those flop back in 2011. What a bizarre choice. And I'm not getting my hopes up on those other two sets. One is probably that $300 Gotham City diorama that I still don't get the appeal for outside of like one figure. The other is probably for Aquaman 2, which I am admittedly looking forward to, even if it is probably just going to be our third Aquaman vs Black Manta submarine. This theme, man. Even when we do get sets they're still disappointing.

It might just be another 89 set for you, but this is the first minifigure scale set based on the film, which at least to me is much more appealing than giant Bat vehicles that take up too much space This is a much better step in the right direction than yearly D2Cs though, while LEGO DC has been lacking over the years, one scale set based on 89 could mean more sets based on the other following films Regarding your point on Superman though, it has been a while since I've seen the Reeve films, but what sets could come about from them? Batman at least has the appeal of his vehicles, but I can't think of anything that could make a cool set from Superman

They didn't lead to anything and I wouldn't get your hopes up on this leading to anything either. In terms of Reeves based Superman sets, you could do Lex Luthor's lair from the first film (a bit of a stretch if I'm being honest since it isn't all that iconic) and the Fortress of Solitude (which would make for a pretty cool set and would appeal to fans of Superman in general).

But given that it’s a “1992” set specifically, I think the chances of getting a penguin / catwoman are higher than normal. And at the very least if Keaton is included it shouldn’t be a repeat since his suit is different in returns. 35 minutes ago, Quicksilver838 said: Regarding your point on Superman though, it has been a while since I've seen the Reeve films, but what sets could come about from them? There's not one, not two, but three instances in Suicide Squad (2016) where a bunch of ordinary people fall out of the sky in a helicopter (I'm pretty sure it even explodes one of those times) and are perfectly fine. Compared to that, Superman going back in time by flying really fast (technically, if he could go faster than the speed of light, he would go back in time and the Earth would appear to rotate backwards as he did) is nothing.
