astroboy75 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 In my opinion it will have the shape of the bat signal while closed. It does not make sense to be entirely close by walls if it is does not have the shape of something bat-related. Are we sure it is minifig scale ?
BatDeanj Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 (edited) I think the minifigs will be Batman, Penguin, Catwoman, Alfred, Brue Wayne, Selina Kyle and 2/3 ALT Batsuits and some little penguin with guns (like lego batman movie Batcave) Thats 8/9 + some little penguins... Or if its from the flash movie, all of those plus flash, other flash and Supergirl, zod?. Edited March 24, 2023 by BatDeanj

Outside of the already existing "relationship" or whatever you want to call it between LEGO and the Burton-verse, this just seems like such a weird move. It's possibly the most basic cave depiction in media (tied with BTAS because it's clearly pretty much the same one), it limits the selection of figs, and it's based on a movie that's pretty strange and dark. And I think it's fairly obvious that those other sets are now going to compliment the cave in the same way the Iron-man figure does to the hulkbuster. So we're looking at a $450 cave with zero vehicles? This thing must be occupy a very large physical footprint to justify this. Maybe some lightbricks to give it a gloomy feel? There's something here we're missing. I know a lot of people who can afford this grew up with Keaton as their Batman, but I doubt any of those people would've scoffed at a comic or BTAS inspired set. This has to be a Flash tie-in. There's no other explination. The Batboat is the only Keaton vehicle left, and it doesn't have a retail set. It was a big foreshadowing sign that the Batcave would be Returns-themed, as it will likely have the Batboat as a vehicle build. They are counting on the Batcave, the Batwing and the Batmobile all being up at the same time so people feel the need to collect all the vehicles and place them in the batcave. As in, the set has 3 walls without a front so you can see the inside, just like a dollhouse.
PRbrickbuilder Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 It is a bit disappointing the Batcave is not going the Bugle route, so we're not getting obscure Batfamily characters. Let's hope now it follows the Sanctum route, with half figs based on Burton verse and half based on Flash. The lineup could be: - Bruce, Batman, Alfred, Catwoman, Penguin, Flash 1, Supergirl/Flash 2 (one in the Batmobile set and the other fig here, I'm not sure which one which), Zod and a spoiler character from Flash (if you know, you know). The Batmobile set would have Batman, Flash 1 and Flash 2/Supergirl. I also expect the Bat boat and the Duck boat , with a big sewer build in the Batcave. 9 hours ago, TheBatstan said: Batman '89 comic series That would be a superb move, adding Robin, Two-face and the Batcycle to the Batcave. But I agree it is unlikely.

spiderfan2000 Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 (edited) At this point, I'm hoping that if 2024 has to focus on media (though I'd prefer comic sets), that they do a full Batman: The Animated Series wave, at least beyond just the Gotham City Skyline set. I think it would make sense considering that the new cowl is a great fit for it, and it'd allow some of the Skyline set's minifigures to be available elsewhere (though I'd assume one or two would probably stay exclusive) Also, I'd really want to get TAS versions of Two-Face (seriously, it's been almost two decades since our last black and white suited Two-Face), Clayface (could use the Vidiyo slime head and the new Baymax arms), Ventriloquist, and Mad Hatter. And don‘t tell me you would‘ve been happy with a character like Clayface or Mad Hatter being paywalled behind it I give you Bill Finger’s Batcave I would pay for anything if it was paywalled behind this.
scottypavarotti Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Whilst I would have preferred (much preferred) an Animated or comics-themed Batcave, I’m pretty intrigued by this. I’m therefore now thinking how fantastic it would be (albeit maybe unrealistic) if we were to get a Max Shreck minifigure. A Christopher Walken LEGO figure would be all kinds of awesome.

I can absolutely see them doing a BTAS Batmobile to go along with the recent ones, and it would undoubtedly sell well.

Lionbear8 Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Best we wait and see when this is officially shown. The set has alot of potential for a Keaton bat-cave. I would expect a bat vehicle to be supplied (bat ski) and then I would expect it to be able to accommodate the Batmobile and batwing from the other new sets. I also like the idea pointed out by ash n flash, that this set could also advertise The Flash movie been releasedi n June . This could mean more variety in minifigs like what they did with the dr strange set. The set has Potential!
Nylock Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Now that we have all this info on the batcave, its about time we get some info on the flash set

(I mean obviously based on the name we can extrapolate a keaton batman and batmobile) I could totally be wrong on this, but for all we know it has a side build. Not to mention we don't know about the other figures, if any, and any sort of specifics on the batmobile design (how many seats, play features, etc).
Lionbear8 Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 Brickset updated there DC set list for 2023. I wonder if there all Batman related?

SuperSquidman Posted March 27, 2023 Posted March 27, 2023 I found this image (the full one; this is cropped) over the last week and thought LEGO could do something like this for Robert Pattinson’s cowl in the “The Batman: Part II” sets:

Like, sure, all you think will sell is batman. Fine. Sure, even then all the stuff now has to be related to the films. Fine. THEN GIVE HIM EYES LIKE HE HAS IN EVERY LIVE ACTION FILM ADAPTION, not white strips like the comics! It annoys me to no end. It would literally require one (1) new mold, and what do they do? go out of their way to make a new cowl mold that literally can't be used for standard eyes.

At this point I’ve come to accept it as just Lego’s way of doing Batman and it doesn’t bother me anymore. Heck I think even funko does the same thing (though I think they have a valid reason). But I do wonder what Lego’s actual reason for it is. Cause they can clearly do black pupils on dark grey (like both Heath joker minifigs). So it feels like they do it cause it’s the way they’ve always done it and it just stuck.

For lego, it just doesn't make sense.
