The point is that the leakers knew the batmobile was delayed when they leaked details and release date. I think they all have reliable sources. It really makes no sense one month before to cancel the set because of « oh wait what about the batmobile? ».

I doubt it's canceled but would you be shocked about a delay?

Did you know that the word "gullible" is written on the ceiling?

*looks up*

The fact that cancelling the set is actually somewhat reasonable and in-character for lego is almost why I think this dude's faking. The leak that turned out to be true was from an account that'd posted here before and they were just so absurd almost no-one could make them up. This one is just some random new account making a pretty easy-to-guess claim.

I'm shocked the set was going to be released to begin with.

After seeing some more clear images of the Penguin fig, I'm really not that enthused about the set. I realize Danny Devito poses some uhhhh..."challenges" in minifigure form, but it doesn't even look remotely close. I would bank on a super generic looking Alfred and and Catwoman and Schreck that are pretty lame.

I like it, but for that price and so few minifigures, they could design a fat dwarf-like hobbit bust (and add a couple of henchmen)

I agree the leaked penguin minifigure looks meh. the TLBM is alot better.

I cant see them cancelling the set as they didn't cancel the Batmobile and that would be more likely (as it contained flash), but I can see it delayed and coming out in august with the other vehicles.

I'm sorry what? It's allegedly been cancelled because the instructions advertise the Flash version of the Batmobile set? If that's true then that's even more ridiculous than the Temple of Doom set, because it means that no one involved in the creation of both sets thought to adjust the instructions. Reconfiguring the Batmobile wouldn't have been a five minute job, and as the two sets seem to have been produced concurrently the cave team should have been aware of the issue. It also suggests that the instructions aren't inspected, or if they are it's not until they are being put in the box.

If it's not true then it's a really dumb rumour.

I've got to say, I find every decision LEGO has made regarding The Flash to be baffling. Regardless of what you think of the Esra Miller 2021/2022 World Tour, LEGO really misjudged how the whole thing would play out. At this point the movie is coming out, and every other manufacturer is making toys based on it. LEGO would catch 0% blowback over releasing a set, and even less over having a reference or two to it in the Batcave set. I'd like to think all of this is just a result of the Superhero theme going through a re-organization to a Marvel+Batman theme.

The new Dreamzz theme features a small minifigure body piece. I wonder if something like that could work for Scarface

I see where you're coming from, but that'd be way too huge. Scarface should be small enough to be phisically grabbed by a regular minifigure. Otherwise it wouldnt be Scarface

If they ever make Scarface, they will probably use the recent baby piece. Admittedly they'd need a new tiny gangster hat for the baby-sized head (or a one-off head & hat part), and Scarface wouldn't be able to hold his usual tommy gun, but he's always got his "dummy" (the Ventriloquist) to hold things like that in his free hand.

The new Dreamzzz torso would instead be pretty good for the Green Lanterns' bosses, the Guardians of the Universe (no, not the MCU bunch of A-holes). Hopefully we might get a Lego set based on the upcoming "Lanterns" TV series in a few years, so long as it's not too adult-oriented.

@Lego126 You got anything to say?

I saw that leaked “picture”. Not sure what that’s supposed to be, but yes, 6/5 is the original date it was supposed to release. There’s been confidential images, I’ve seen a different one that also said 6/5. Like I mentioned, it’s dependent on the status of the Batmobile. Not getting the teaser and reveal last week is a bad sign. Like I said before, if they show it next week, I’ll have my confidence again. But based on what me and the others saw, it’s not good

Everyone assumes Ezra is the reason for rebranding the Batmobile, yet no one ever thinks that perhaps DCEU sets just aren't that marketable?

Shazam and Black Adam were both skipped over entirely. The last DCEU set we did get was Wonder Woman 84 which sold terribly. Prior to that was Aquaman, Justice League and Batman vs Superman which were also pretty big shelf warmers. At this point I'd be very surprised if we get anything for the Lost Kingdom, especially with a reboot to the entire DC universe right around the corner.

What has been doing fairly well for Lego's DC theme are the recent legacy Batman sets. The 60s Batmobile, Dark Knight Tumblers and Batman 89 sets have had more consumer appeal than any of the DCEU sets regardless of how old those films are. Its something we see all the time in Star Wars with Original Trilogy merchandise constantly outselling the modern Disney Era. Since the new Batcave and Batwing will both be based directly on the older Batman films, it makes sense why they would want the Batmobile to also fall under that same umbrella rather than separated under different branding.

I get your point for the delay explanation but none of the main leakers seem to be aware of this delay. Guess we’ll find out soon.

But who are "the other" leakers you keep talking about?

I feel that this is an unfair inclusion as it was released in the midsts of the pandemic and months before the film came out.

I can’t tell if that leaked image is supposed to be the set or the box it comes in.

Neither
