If the other sets are from BTAS, I'd expect to see Batman, Joker, and Harley from the Skyline reused.  Phantasm would probably stay exclusive, and Mr. Freeze could go either way.

I'd definitely consider it a missed opportunity if we didn't get TAS versions of Two-Face or Clayface though.  I don't think a BTAS Clayface minifigure would even need a new mold, considering they could probably just use the Vidiyo slime head and Baymax arms.

A BTAS wave would also probably be our best shot at finally getting Mad Hatter and Ventriloquist in any form.

If Lego finds guns controversial, then why does the Joker buildable figure come with a gun? 🤔

I like that this is what you had to comment about on that.

Lego has done an emergency redesign of the joker buildable figure to replace the cartoony bang flag gun with a party popper also firing the bang flag. They thank you for your vigilance in keeping kids safe.

The price on this one has been increased to $34.99, but otherwise you are right.

But not really. . .

Yeah, they would, wouldn't they. Aside from cancelling the BTAS set, I wouldn't be surprised if my thing actually ends up being true.

I just hope the BtAS minifig designs are something like @Robert8's designs!

Thanks

Let's hope the BTAS characters do show up in this wave

I want either Animated Series sets or a proper Dark Knight trilogy wave. If they can make affordable versions of Nicholson Joker they can do it for Ledger

IMO, these are the two most likely options.

I would love a Batmobile with Ras Al Ghul, Batcycle with Joker, and The Bat with Bane, and finally a Nolan Two-Face

Huh, weird way to spell Batman, The Joker and Harley Quinn :laugh_hard:

Seriously though, that‘d be awesome! I have no faith in DC whatsoever anymore, but maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised :sweet:

It would be amazing if they made a whole wave based on Batman: The Animated Series

With five sets we'd finally get some new villains, or at least fresh (for LEGO) and iconic variants.

Except, not all 5 sets are gonna be system. There’s probably a Juniors set, maybe a buildable figure or two, and maybe some buildable object like a Batarang or Batman’s cowl. So you wind up with maybe 2-3 system sets, and when Batman has like 5-10 iconic villains that haven’t been on the shelf for 5+ years, there’s not much room for new villains.

True, but I'm gonna stay optimistic until we hear some troubling news like that.

You didn't see my earlier post?

Spoiler

76270: Batplane: Harley's escape ($29.99): A juniors batplane and small prision cell for Harley to break out of. Figures are batman (summer 2023 system fig) and Harley Quinn (Same face and hair as 2022, but an orange jumpsuit)

76271: Joker construction figure ($34.99): A Joker construction figure. The face is horrifying, but not in the intended way. Has a purple suit and a cartoonish pistol that can fire a "bang" flag.

76272: Harley Quinn construction figure ($34.99): A harley quinn construction figure with a red and black jumpsuit and a large hammer build.

76273: Batarang and Batman's gauntlet ($69.99): Batman's arm and hand from the Nolan trilogy with the spikes, holding a batarang build.

76274 Batman: Gotham Skyline has unfortunately been cancelled due to lego finding the usage of actual guns in BTAS controversial.

Jokes aside, I honestly do think the best we can hope for is 2 system sets, max. It's very likely we'll get both a 4+ set and buildable object of some sort. The construction figures are the only ones I'm not really confident we'll see, as so far it's 6 marvel ones (with 3 more on the way) vs one DC one, so maybe they don't think any construction figures besides Batman would sell for DC. (On that topic, I'm not sure how well Spider-man, Miles, Cap, Scott, and Wolverine sold for, but I can't imagine they were bestsellers. Venom's the only one I could see doing well)

They can do another Batman buildable figure. Blue and gray Batman. Black and gray Batman. Hush Batman. Returns Batman. DCAU Batman. Adam West Batman. TDKT Batman. So many options for more Batman.

We are also getting the Gotham D2C, so that leaves us realistically with 1-2 slots for regular sets (4+, D2C, Buildable Figure, Object, ____ ).

The fact that this actually sounds like something LEGO would do is horrifying.

Does anyone have the list of villains that appeared in BTAS? I’ve never watched it and only know a few.

I know the Ventriloquist & Scarface appeared in the show and I’ve wanted the hose guys forever, I know they’re C/D tier Batman villains and when I first wanted to see them they were not well known but now they seem to be have a bit of a cult following even though they are still D tier villains.  We did after all see a Lego comic with the Ventriloquist in years ago and I believe he was the only villain in that comic to not be made into a minifigure, maybe it was planned but then Lego scrapped the idea to make him, or maybe they just didn’t get round to creating a set with him in despite having maybe a plan to.   I don’t know?

Everyone.... EEEVVVVRRRRRYYYYYOOOOONNNNEEE!

But yeah, basically any batman villain that existed by the time of airing had some level of focus in the show and generally at least a full episode dedicated to them. They even invented or reinvented a few that have since become extremely popular (Making Mr. Freeze actually a good villain, for instance.)

I told you, I can exclusively confirm that this is the upcoming year of DC sets. When I'm right, enough idiots will believe me when I "leak" a UCS Gonk droid, and we can start a 501st style petition for one.

The fact this isn't already an $80 SW buildable droid actually kinda surprises me, in a sad way.

But yeah, I'd highly guess at least one 4+, one buildable fig, and then maybe a couple of system sets. The good thing is that we're getting anything LEGO DC.

The Ventriloquist thing was kinda odd, but I don’t think it was an isolated incident. Does anyone else know if something like this happened? And before someone brings him up, I don’t Klarion counts.

Wrong. Batman and Robin Mr. Freeze is up there with Heath Ledger's Joker.

I can’t believe you’re comparing the two. It’s not Heath Ledger’s fault the bar was set so high by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I unironically think this would sell fairly well and I would certainly buy one. Be a fun thing to have on my desk.

This feels like something @PGBQW would say, but the thing is I believe Heart of Ice was first, so one could argue BTAS mr freeze walked so Batman and Robin Mr. Freeze could run.

Well your beliefs are correct, the whole Scientist trapped in a sub zero suit, who froze his wife to stop her dying while he searched for a cure, thing was a BtAS invention. Before that he was just a crook with a cold gun. But of course Batman and Robin added the most important detail with the freeze ray now being fueled by diamonds, which is the most important part of his lore and is obviously not totally ludicrous.

FTFY

A bunch of BTAS would sure be nice to have, but it‘s also a tad too optimistic. This is still the DC theme :laugh_hard:

I swear in season 1 of the '66 Batman, Freeze also had a cold suit / gun and couldn't survive in the heat.... but I don't think his wife was involved yet. We even got a minifgiure of him in a polybag back in 2016.

So this idea isn't that new: It is over 50 years old!
