Well the peace count has increased  out to 1000 pieces from what was originally reported when it leaked (it may have been an assumption at the time?)

This is 1 of 5 sets!

Judge it when we have clearer pics,  for all we know some characters could be hidden  .

There's an episode of The Boys where Homelander pushes his son of a roof to try and make him fly. His reaction when the boy falls to the ground is kind of where I'm at with DC Lego right now.

Personally I'd go for what Soldier Boy says to Homelander in the S3 finale

Marvel: Here, have a playset with 31 minifigs! You‘re welcome

DC: Eh, 5 minifigs is too much. They only need The Joker and Harley anyway.

How far we've come since the dizzy heights of TLBM and a CMF series of it's own. I'm sure it'll be a fun set with some interesting gimmicks, but like the shadow box I'm just not sold on it, and the figure selection is about as uninspired as it's possible to get.

Best thing we can hope for is some layoffs and new hires in the superheroes design time. Hopefully a purge of the the ones who use Reddit

What a horrible and ignorant thing to say.

I will be tweeting “D2C Arkham Asylum” at the official LEGO account until I am either given what I want or am blocked. This is my kamikaze mission.

My brother in christ, you just posted a reddit-megablocks comment here

The Gotham City set sounds interesting but its a shame we're only getting four figures. Including Catwoman is fine but I wish it wasn't at the expense of losing Mr. Freeze and Phantasm.

Does DC charge higher licensing fees than Marvel or Disney? Why are the new characters so few and far between?

It's because Disney has more content on in Movies, shows and animation atm.

I agree with you because they're doing a poor job at making new DC sets because all we get is just 4+ and Batman and Joker when they can make good villains they've done before like Bane,Scarecrow,Deathstroke,Mr Freeze and many more.

There is a rumour that Hush might be the main villain of The Batman 2 so I guess that might be our chance to get a new villain that isn't Joker or Harley Quinn in 2025.

Maybe it’ll be different because The Batman was actually successful, but I can name over a dozen characters that have been introduced in recent DC movies that we haven’t gotten minifigures for.

L take. The designers have no say over what sells or which company produces more (and overall better) content.

Yeah, I wonder why they favour Marvel over a franchise that had like 7 flops in a row, with one exception  Maybe even 8, with the way it’s going :laugh_hard:

Granted, DC and Marvel are more than just their respective movies, but other material isn’t in the zeitgeist all that much.

I’ve seen some bad takes on here in my day, but suggesting firing people over not doing sets on a flailing franchise may take the cake :head_back:

I never said anything about touching the current DC movies, and clearly Lego isn’t interested in doing so as the last DCEU set put out was Wonder Woman. Nice fanfic you’ve written

I feel like Eurobricks used to be more civil than this, but anyway:

As @Classic_Spaceman says, he did explain it beyond the current DC movies (I'll also point out that he didn't specify DCEU, and we did get sets for that 8th film he mentions, The Batman). No reason to be a jag to other users, and CERTAINLY no reason to say you want the designers fired, which is not only super mean-spirited but displays a complete lack of understanding about the theme. The designers aren't deciding how many/what DC material to cover, they're the ones who- you know- design the sets, and I'd say out of all the problems lego DC has, the designs of the builds aren't one of them.

Honestly, even with the reboot, I question how quickly LEGO is going to rush out to make Swamp Thing, etc... I see sets releasing when Superman Legacy arrives, but given how badly "unknown superhero" movies have done recently, I don't think LEGO or any toy company is going to immediately bank on this rebook doing that well. Black Panther 2, Eternals, etc. action figs and such are still sitting on shelves in some places...

(Before I get a slew of discussion about how x, y, z character isn't "unknown," I only mean in the way of "worldwide known" like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, etc. are, not that no one knows of Swamp Thing, etc.).

Well... The main problem is that most superhero movies since the infinity saga were just not very good and the Average Joe makes no difference between DC and Marvel. They need character arcs with the classic hero´s journey again. Flawed characters that become something great. It´s not that difficult. Then things should become fine pretty fast again. If they put Swamp thing in a movie with batman and made him in fact really good, people would like him.

Its like a self fulfilling prophecy with Lego DC. They put absolutely no effort into the sets so we get repeated, weaker builds with no new characters or even variants! Then the crappy sets do not sell, and therefore Lego keeps putting low effort into DC because it does not sell! And the cycle continues.

It’s not just the poor quality of the sets. Outside of Batman, nobody from DC has found mainstream success. And even Batman hasn’t had much mainstream success in the past decade.
