Slytherin Alumni Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Sets I want before the theme is done... - Quidditch World Cup - this could either be a tent scene (minifigures: Death Eaters, Barty Crouch Jr., Barty Crouch, and Harry) or the next Quidditch set (minifigures: Krum +Bulgarian and Irish Quidditch players and Fred/Ginny/Harry with team hats). - Weasley Wedding - mainly for Bill and X. Lovegood, but the costumes are great imo - Third Task/The Maze - All 4 champions and a few creatures as obstacles (blast-ended skrewt, boggart/dementor, Sphinx, acromantula) - Hogwarts Battle remake with multiple features of destruction - Proper Gryffindor Common Room (coming from someone who is not in Gryffindor) - I get what they were going for with the banners and that's fine, as not all common rooms were in the films much if at all. It represents them well enough, but the Gryffindor common room is necessary for so many scenes throughout the films...Petrificus Totalus, Quidditch celebration/Ron's kiss with Lavender, Golden Egg celebration, Weasley joke shop experiments, many study nights/letters from Sirius, making hats (not in film), first Hogwarts Christmas (AV), Sirius in fire (banner) and so on. They could go big with this set and include multiple scenes to switch out over the years much like the D2C HE did this year.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 (edited) The five sets that I feel are most crucial: • A Ministry of Magic set with Death Eaters • A Half-Blood Prince set with Harry in his red blazer • A Deathly Hallows: Part 1 set with forest scenery • Gringotts with an Ironbelly • Battle of Hogwarts set(s) with Harry and Voldemort duelling, including Deathly Hallows: Part 2 Ron, Aberforth, and other variants of existing characters But it's not like that covers all of it, there are three more that would make it feel complete: • Bathroom Troll Duel • Durmstrang Ship • The Third Challenge There are also ones that I don't feel are really necessary, but I'd be glad to see them: • Hagrid's Hut (different year) • Quidditch set (different year) • A small Hogwarts set with Harry, Quirrel, and Ain Eingarp (nod to one of the original Harry Potter sets) • A small Hogwarts set with Slughorn's potions class Edited January 7, 2023 by THELEGOBATMAN

I don't recall ever hearing of him (her?) before, in the books, films, or sets. I had the one with Quirrell from 2001 back in the day, and him and Harry Potter were the only figs in the set...

The Polish name of the Mirror of Erised (had to look it up) I'm pretty satisfied with the 2018 version, but an update with the new style of lenticular cards would be cool too!
THELEGOBATMAN Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Huh, I didn't know that was actually the Polish name. It's much catchier than Mirror of Erised, and none of the words are even Polish. I just meant a set based on Harry and Quirrel's duel (if you can even call it that).
Ravenclaw62442 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I honestly don’t get the appeal of a Durmstrang ship. What does it have, 8 seconds of screen time? Do people just want a cool Lego ship or something?

Yeah, it doesn‘t have much screentime, but neither did the Beauxbatons carriage and that got a set as well Could be an interesting set if they ever release it, and as @deskp points out, there is some minifig potential!

I grew up on the books first, then the movies second, and the Durmstrang Ship was more of a feature in the books than the film so it holds more nostalgia for me. It certainly has as much book and film time as the carriage so is just as deserving to be a set as the Carriage was. For me it would help round off my Goblet of Fire display nicely now we're getting the Second Task in March. The only other sets that could really finish off that movie would be a maze set or Quidditch World Cup tent or stadium. Edited January 7, 2023 by BacktoBricks
BrickBob Studpants Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I didn't realise we already have the piece count for 76419, so it's 2660 pieces for $160 Excellent PPR, but this doesn't exactly bode well for Gringotts. I smell a buildable character. Or a sock.
thenudeorganist Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 It looks like we could be treated to two of the most wanted Lego HP sets of all time this year: Gringott’s and USC Dobby’s sock.
NostalgicBricks Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 If some YouTubers are to be believed, I'm guessing that cheaper D2C (unfortunately) will be the Knight Bus.
thenudeorganist Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Hold on, which are the prices for the two D2C sets? Is the $160 the most expensive one?

thenudeorganist Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 (edited) I’m very confused right now :D There is at least the 2660 piece D2C for $160, which was just leaked by Falconfan if I’m correct. Was there a more expensive D2C on the first list? Edited January 7, 2023 by thenudeorganist

I don't know anything about leaked lists, but JediJACPenguin said in a YouTube video that there would be two D2Cs - the more expensive Gringotts and the cheaper Knight Bus. And TopicBricks also said there will be 2 D2Cs this year. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Another vehicle D2C? Sigh. They give us Microscale Hogwarts, we want a follow up Castle Extension we get a minifigure/system scale Diagon Alley, we want a follow up Gringotts we get Icons, we want a follow up Dobby's Sock ;p we get The Hogwarts Express, which is fine on its own, don't really need another vehicle follow up and what might we get? Another vehicle. XD. They're just teasing us at this point. But all joking aside, if it really is the Knight Bus it wouldn't surprise me if this was the one set we will get aunt Marge in. Maybe we even get Tom the Innkeeper as he took Harry of the Bus. Definitely one of the requirements for me to actually buy this set. Although it would be nice if it were a regular size knight bus put next to the Leaky Cauldron. But I won't put my Money on it. Still, I really hope we'll get Gringotts soon, with all the rumors about WB wanting to reboot the franchise I'm starting to get worried what that will mean for this theme. Really want them to give us Gringotts before that.

The PPR would certainly fit, but it'd definitely be quite a bit smaller than comparable vehicles like the London Bus.

Really want them to give us Gringotts before that. I wouldn't worry about that. I'm positive JK wouldn't allow another live action adaption because she was such a good friend of, and fan of the portrayal by, Alan Rickman and Robbie Coltrane; and all involved must know that fans wouldn't be happy with a reboot. She has to OK everything that happens, thankfully, or I'm positive that WB would want to Star Wars the IP. I think they are probably just exploring more WW productions. Personally, I'm hoping for an animated series based on the books, a streaming series (or the last two films) of Fantastic Beasts with the film cast and a film of Quidditch Through the Ages. Let's put it this way: she better not allow them to make a HP reboot without giving me my FB finale. Edited January 7, 2023 by NostalgicBricks
Legoman123 Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Having a D2C Knight bus would be awesome. Just last year I was thinking how good and necessary that would be. We can actually have a full scale interior on every level then.

Robbie Coltrane's quote comes to mind, "You could be watching it in 50 years time, easy. I'll not be here, sadly, but Hagrid will." Which makes it sad that so soon after him passing away these rumors began. If we watch it in 50 years time he better not be replaced. Some franchise just shouldn't be rebooted, not in the same medium at least. Edited January 7, 2023 by Huigberts Builds Accidentally hit "Submit reply" too soon

I have many issues with the film adaptions, but they have a special place in my heart; as they do for so many others. I can't imagine anyone else making the first film any better and capturing the magic of the novel on the screen, or Hermione or Hagrid or Snape or McGonagall being played by anyone else. But I really hope to see the conclusion to the FB series in some way, and I would adore an animation of the main book series; and I would just love any more WW series or films they give me (as long as they remain true to the heart of it). I have not seen anything about that on JJP's Instagram, did he really say that?
