My favourite set being released this year if the friends Botanical Garden set 71757. I'll be getting two and making a double sided greenhouse, I'll give the figures to the two girls living next door to me.

It would make a great greenhouse for Herbology class, Its in the style from Hogwarts Legacy and could also be turned into the room of requirements greenhouse that house some of the creatures you capture. The plants in it even look a bit magical. I wonder if there is a market for more obscure builds like this in the Harry Potter theme, Herbology class is a fun scene in the movies and even the a game version could have some new creature builds. I'm sick of banners, cases and books. I want some fun new ideas in the theme.

That greenhouse set is amazing! Just had a look at the parts inside and it’s got green recolours of saxophones, brown ducks, and beautiful butterflies, I might have to get it myself!

Exactly. The thing is it's so good they must have had this plan surely? And it must have been frustrating for designers to see criticisms of the model(s) if they knew of a bigger picture.

This clearly was not planned. The Polyjuice potion set isn’t on top of the chamber entrance (something that actually was planned), Lockhart’s office is nowhere near his classroom, the Library is separated from Dumbledore’s office which means the exterior design of it extending out into the office is broken, and the clock tower is randomly representing the astronomy tower. I think the BOH was designed for this and it’s possible Sirius’ Escape with its wedge plates and maybe the otherwise inexplicable hinges in the hospital wing were made for this (if the whole set was designed for this then they really shouldn’t have done those white windows) but that’s as far as I’d go.

What’s happened is that they’ve got enough of these Hogwarts blocks that they can shove them together in a way that kind of resembles the castle. They couldn’t plan a consistent window design (or even a consistent color) so I doubt they planned to make everything go in its exact places for this setup. If they did, apart from all the issues I mentioned earlier, it still looks like a haphazard mashup for the most part.

That’s not to say it isn’t impressive, it’s certainly tempting me to pick up the sets I didn’t bother with (Polyjuice, hospital wing, Dumbledore’s Office) but it’s definitely not very cohesive.

This is the same layout that I would consider, because of the playfeature of the toilet. In the "official" Layout it seems not possible.

That playfeature is one of the main things that makes Polyjuice Potion Mistake so great but I also kinda get why they decided to put it on library instead as it looks much better from the exterior side. Also here is the render of the entire interior side which they didn’t show to us.

With Lee Jordan off the list, we have an updated list of needed characters...

PS (9): Alicia Spinnet, Tom, Dedalus Diggle, Doris Crockford, King's Cross Guard, Prof Vector, Bloody Baron, Fat Friar, Augusta Longbottom

CoS (5): Millicent Bulstrode, Mr and Mrs Mason, Ernie MacMillain, Penelope Clearwater

PoA (1): Aunt Marge

GoF (6): Roger Davies, Barry Crouch sr, Prof Karkaroff, Amos Diggory, Frank Bruce, Eloise Midgen

OotP(6): Mrs Figg, Zacharias Smith, Madam Bones, John Dawlish, Antonin Dolohov, Prof Grubbly-Plank

HBP (8): Narcissa Malfoy, Amycus Carrow, Alecto Carrow, Thorfinn Rowle, Leanne, Katie Bell, Cormac McLaggen, Marcus Belby

DH (9): Charity Burbage, Bill Weasley, Mundungus Fletcher, Elphius Doge, Rufus Scrimgeour, Xenophilius Lovegood, Aunt Muriel, Bathilda Bagshot, Dirk Cresswell

With the Micro Hogwarts set I don't think there are any new figures coming, but with Gringotts there are some figures which are possible, but not a huge chance of new characters. I'm sure we'll get a repeat of PS Harry and Hagrid, a DH Harry, a new Ron is disguise, an updated Bellatrix and GOBLINS.

I guess it depends if any other shops are included, but the Leaky Cauldron crowd are possible if that building appears.

Mundungus Fletcher and Narcissa Malfoy are both seen in Diagon Alley and Bill Weasley works at Gringotts, so would be an appropriate inclusion even if he is never seen.

Hello everyone! I've been lurking on these forums for a couple of years :), but the recent leak of the full Hogwarts layout and Textorix renders inspired me to create an account and share my layout of the modular castle.

This layout uses all of the recent modular sets, including the First Flying Lesson, Flyffy's Encounter, Gryffindor Dorm Room, and the Grand Staircase (although it's still pretty weird). The only two modules that I failed to use are both from the First Flying Lesson - the entrance and one roof module, but you can really attach them anywhere you want (they might find a better place once I have the BOH set). I really wanted a castle that makes sense and where everything connects where it's supposed to connect. In this version, Fluffy's trap door connects to the Devil's Snare, the bathroom connects to the slide, and Lockhart's office is not separate from the DADA classroom (if you prefer, you can even add Dombledore's office on top of the library, but for me, the proportions felt off and the windows of the library/dorm room/DADA match better). I created an Imgur link with all the pictures and wrote some comments underneath each picture: https://imgur.com/a/5N0pKlR. The result is extremely flexible and should allow me to connect the BOH set fairly easily (I hope :D) once it releases.

The pictures don't do it justice (many minifigures fell out while I was assembling and reassembling :D), but I hope this helps those struggling to find a logical layout that fits all the sets and their modules.

Very nice job. Even though I own all Hogwarts sets released since 2018, most of them is not built because sadly I have no space for them currently :D

I would suggest adding Fluffy and Flying Lesson sets on the right side of the layout. There are couple options where you could put Dorms GWP set but to me all of them look rather ugly because 1) you can't stack higher than two modules as otherwise both towers would loose they dominant look and 2) connecting it to sides would create wall effect which we want to avoid. Yeah the Chamber of Secrets play feature is lost here but I can't help myself, this way it just looks better from the outside.

Backside picture of the new Hogwarts layout leaked. I almost got it 100% right. The only thing I didn’t put on correct place are the roof parts with golden fence from the Dumbledore’s Office set that are supposed to go on the top of the Bathroom set.

Does anyone know from either setting it up physically or from digital constructing the length and depth of this new combined Hogwarts model?

It’s around 75 x 42cm, at least that is what stud.io says about 3D model.

The new face print for young Harry in the Hogwarts Express has a double line between his glasses lenses. Is this to represent them being all taped up before Hermione fixed them do you think? It looks like it to me which is really cute if it is.

One of the things I particularly appreciate about the new Hogsmeade Station set is that it is one of the only Harry Potter Lego sets based on a location you can visit in real life (outside of the Warner Bros studio tour and the Universal theme parks). It is based on the filming location at the Goathland train station for the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. There you can see working steam trains akin to the Hogwarts Express in action. The only other example that comes to mind of a real-life location in recent sets is the First Flying Lesson since those scenes were filmed at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland.

They made the wands dual-moulded, but couldn't even bother if they've chosen the right colours

Voldemort's wand should be black, and Harry's black / dark brown. Why didn't the designers even check that...

It is.

Actually, Dumbledore’s wand/the Elder Wand has consistently been tan throughout the theme since 2018. And Harry is using Draco’s wand in the battle which has almost always been dark brown like his own (so at least that one’s right)

Yet again I've confused the names — in my language it's called The Black Wand, so I just pictured it as black

It's definitely dark brown tho, so if they include a repeat of Harry's wand, you could just use that one.

Still, I don't think something like this should be overlooked when making a new dual-moulded piece.

It's a testament to how tragic this wave is that this thread is so dead. :jollyroger:

It's also very interesting that Lego has announced the summer sets with official pictures and a press release for every other theme except Harry Potter. And only WWW and the Brickheadz are up on Shop @ Home. Yikes

I have been almost a completionist for the system sets so far, I think I have enough stock now to make my own Hogwarts without more sets. The new Battle of Hogwarts set might be the first where I brick link the figures only rather than get the whole thing. If I was starting the theme half way through I would get it though for sure

It doesn’t look like the new city sets are on shop @ home either. It seems so strange that they still wouldn’t have an official announcement of the rest of the Harry Potter sets this close to the release date. Maybe the Ninjago announcement is a sign that Harry Potter will be announced soon too?

They don't really do a press release and big reveal for every new wave of sets, do they? For ongoing lines they just eventually put the stuff up on the website and start selling it.

There are press releases for new themes or waves of themes that they really want to talk about for specific reasons. I really wouldn't read anything into the lack of one.

That’s a good point! I was starting to wonder if the release date had been pushed back for some reason but everyone seems confident in June 1st. Hopefully it’s June 1st in the US too, we always seem to get new releases later than some other places do.

Because it’s all so bland and each set is still in the shadows of the 2018 sets.

The 2018 quidditch set is by far the better play set compared to the quidditch trunk.

The Battle of Hogwarts on its own is flat and odd. At first it’s really exciting to see the combined set you can make if you turn it into the viaduct, but it breaks several of the display and play features of the sets.

as much as I want to set up a giant display like the one they have pictures of, the 2018-2020 sets are still better looking, the great hall is better, the clock tower is better, the Astronomy tower is better. I feel like if I use the chamber of secrets to lift up the 2018 great hall sand use the BoH s as a via duct I can skip most of the 2021-23 castle sets.

I finished my Hogwarts castle layout. I posted it on every single platform but I thought I could share it with you too since this forum motivated me to create it :D

I remember how critical I was about new Hogwarts sets when we found out it’s gonna be a full reboot. Everyone including me thought they wouldn’t be compatibile with old 2018-2021 sets and now 2 years later I can say that I was so wrong.
