Hoping the missing figure is for Katie Bell. I don't remember ever seeing Luna in a Hogsmeade scene. If this AC is Hogsmeade themed & these are the Minifigs included I'll be back to buying two copies. I doubt it purely because Lego advent calendars tend to have doors of equal size and the carboard sleeve for the invisibility cloak is bigger than each section. They could change the layout of course, but I'm guessing they won't as it would probably add to costs, and if they didn't the cloak piece would have to be out of the cardboard sleeve and folded to fit and I don't think they'd do they either.

But they don't use the cardboard sleeves when they pack cloth pieces in CMF's so still possible there would be a way to include one.

As far as I know though (I don't collect them) all the cloth pieces in the CMFs have been the soft fabric and more malleable. Whereas the new invisibility cloak is more firm now than the one that came in the CMF. The CMF packets are also larger than the advent sections so it would have to be folded and they don't seem to want to do that fresh out of the factory probably because it would create a crease which would stay fairly ingrained. And flat it wouldn't fit into the standard advent calendar section. Not saying they can't do it by changing the section size etc just that I don't think it likely.
Textorix Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 So the trio outfits are based on this scene right? Hermione and Harry are fine but Ron is very inaccurate.
BacktoBricks Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 @Textorix That's the one. They've recoloured Fred and George's CMF hairpiece which is obviously not accurate as Ron doesn't have long red hair showing and has his ears covered, but I don't think they have a similar hat piece do they?
Huigberts Builds Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 I actually feel like Draco's hat would've been more accurate on Ron. Especially considering in the scene at the Shrieking Shack Harry was playing with Ron's laces/earflaps, and the current mold doesn't have that, but draco's kinda do.

Do you know if there's anything more like Draco's actual hat in Lego? Guessing not or they would have gone for it.

But they wouldn't be able to use a double sided head on it. Edited February 9, 2023 by Huigberts Builds
Alas_Earwax Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 So my theory on the 'Hogwarts Castle & Grounds' being a microscale set were correct? Figures. I'm surprised no one has suspected a Malfoy Manor set yet? I'd say it's more realistic to get that over Shell Cottage & Luna's house. Malfoy Manor served as the climax to DHP1 and has actually featured a lot of important characters in it's location on-screen. Having the home could give us lots of minifigures that may not specifically make it to the Hogwarts sets. Characters like Narcissa Malfoy, Olivander in his DHP1/2 outfit, Luna in her DHP1/2 outfit, some snatchers. I'm thinking a table area for the death eaters to sit; a jail feature to put the characters in a prison of sorts; a feature to allow Dobby to drop the Chandelier and so on. The possibilities are endless here.

However, your prediction was that it would be an expansion to the previous one, which this one might not be, more likely a separate model, especially considering the price. About the Malfoy Manor, it's on most of our wishlists, but quite an unlikely set to get considering it's from pretty dark scenes, the size (opposed to smaller buildings like a shell cottage, that are more easily made into "cheaper" sets.) Not to mention that lego almost never does Manor like buildings. We're still waiting for a normal Wayne Manor or X-men mansion.
Lemerbrix Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 I'm loving the recolor of the friends hat/hair combo on Hermione, I'm going to need to pick that set up

They've made sets based on the Graveyard duel (which was absolutely one of the darkest moments in the franchise), alongside the current inclusion to cover more Deathly Hallows Part 2 sets. I mean, the Room of Requirement that's coming out in March literally shows you Goyle fall to his death. Nothing remotely that dark happens in Malfoy Manor, except for Hermione's torture scene perhaps. But I think it's definitely most fitting to cover the 'playset' features that Lego seem to go for with the Harry Potter theme. Especially more than other locations.

But you are right that the graveyard scene is one of the darkest moments in the franchise and they made a set for that as well. So as long as they don't include a Burbage minifigure like they did with Cedric then I don't see any issues. Might even include the fence where Snape goes through at the gate of the manor.

Well yeah, I agree, but the difference is that with the graveyard duel and RoR they turned it into a small set where they could leave out all the dark parts. But if they were to tackle Malfoy Manor, to do it justice it would have to be a big set, which makes it harder to leave out stuff like that. You either have to leave out hermione and Dobby, or Bellatrix. Charity Burgage is especially a no go. Etc. Which would already greatly limit the stuff they can do. I mean I'm sure they can make it work if they don't focus on a specific scene, we'll probably get it someday. But right now, with the other confirmed sets and all things considered, I feel like there's not much room left for a Malfoy Manor this year.

Ron would have looked better I think with a plain black version of Draco's hat and Draco could have had a guard hat. Even a black recolour for the bobble hat would have felt better as the blue is very bright, but maybe they are plumping for a colourful festive look to catch the eye. I don't think double sided head is necessary so it could have worked. Oh well, I love Hermione's recolour.

Also the scene where the Dark Lord arrives after they escape and kills several. Many people die in the Battle of Hogwarts and we are getting that this summer. Surely they wouldn’t leave out everyone that dies; that would mean no Voldemort. He and Harry are 2 minifigures I would expect to see in that set.
krimimimi Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 (edited) Crabbe wears a black Ushanka, flaps down, in the Shrieking Shack scene. Draco a medium grey Free Trapper, low fur cylinder with visor / brim, which I don't think we have a good replacement for in the lego parts collection (a Ushanka with the flaps up would do (no visor), which we haven't got, as might a SW Imperial Officer's cap without the insignia 16497 (too tailored, not cylindrical enough), and the kepi 30135 is even more tailored). Pike has a simple knitted hat (Flume's 90541 is a better fit than the usual knit cap 41334, or maybe even the swimming cap 99241). The Ushanka recolour in the leak is a pretty good hybrid of Draco's and Crabbe's hats. When we eventually get a better part for Draco, I'm adding Crabbe in the Ushanka to the scene. A crisper look is more in keeping with Malfoy anyway. Ron's is tougher, as it's definitely one of those knitted 'helmets' my gran used to make us. It's the cooler version, though, with the hanging tie things as opposed to the chin straps with button you got when you were very young and presumably more likely to lose it. I wondered if the effect could be achieved with a single colour version of the beanie with braids 52686, except the key features are knitted helmet/skullcap and the hanging roped ties... Edit: @BacktoBricks, while I'm a fan of the double sided heads, generally I'd sacrifice one side for the sake of a more accurate outfit. On the other hand, just for this particular scene, I'm not certain which Malfoy expression I'd be willing to give up, haughty or frightened? I'm afraid I need both. 😉 Edited February 10, 2023 by krimimimi

Well I think lego differentiates the death of Villains (darth vader / palpatine) and good guys (Cedric) or simply children like Goyle. The way in which they die might also make a difference, something like the death of Obi Wan is a lot less gruesome than Burgage. So a battle of Hogwarts could easily feature characters like Voldemort, but might avoid characters like Fred. Than again the previous "battle of Hogwarts" had both Goyle and Lupin so you never know what lego does xD. Edited February 10, 2023 by Huigberts Builds
krimimimi Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 (edited) Malfoy Manor... Two main problems, in addition to the rather grim selection of scenes everyone's pointed out, more fundamentally: what would they even put in the rooms? The designers have said repeatedly that they run into trouble with getting things approved whenever they have to make up content (pity, as they're good at it), and we have basically only two locations in the Manor: room with table and chandelier (where Burbage is noshed, Hermione tortured, and Dobby cursed knifed), and the dungeon cell, also a bit bleak, although we only kill off Scabbers there. Assuming they could get around the details of the scenes, would folks really be happy with something like 75930 the Lockwood Estate with only the two rooms, one per floor? @Alas_Earwax, RoR does the same thing the Graveyard set did, it leaves out the minifig who dies. Of course if we do that for the MM, we'd have quite a spotty collection of figs, although the creation of Miserable Lucius alone might make it worthwhile. 😆 (But seriously, the chandelier play feature probably couldn't include Hermione, Bellatrix or Dobby, which is also rather amusing when you consider it.) BacktoBricks Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 @krimimimi I'd probably favour frightened over haughty. Malfoy's ego deserved to be taken down a bit. 🤣
Nick unassembled Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Anyone know how to see the leaked images? Can't find them using the hashtag.
MaxHeadroom Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 The Hogwarts with grounds set makes far more sense to me than the original micro castle. If people want play sets they’ll buy the normal playsets (especially when they still had decent exteriors from 2018-20) so a set focused on showing the castle’s full layout makes more sense.

Slytherin Alumni Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Any idea when we might see images of the polybag? It releases in less than 3 weeks and we haven’t heard much.
krimimimi Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 In past years the Ameet lego HP books have included rare minifigs like Lucius Malfoy and the Hufflepuff Quidditch robes (in the form of a Cedric Diggory minifig), both from the Diagon Alley set. This year it looks like we're getting Harry, Hermione and Ron and McGonagall. Is there anything less common in the pipeline, maybe for the 2HY, that I missed?
