That's so weird that there will be two versions of WWW and the Hogwarts Express at the same time! We're really entering the age of remakes for Harry Potter
RichardGoring Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Are they taking the Star Wars route and having a nanoscale, microscale, midiscale, 4+ scale, play scale, minifig scale, and UCS scale of everything? I get that focusing on the key elements of the story/movies is what sells, but adding a bit more variety while there are already products available of those key elements seems like missed opportunity. As others have said, it will be extremely disappointing if Gringotts doesn't link up the with Diagon Alley D2C.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 I really like the sound of a standalone WWW set. However, yet another Hogwarts Express? Feels unnecessary, at least for this year.
Lion King Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 I wonder if Gringotts Bank set would have side builds? Like… Knockturn Alley shop (singular, not plural) or a buildable Ukranian Ironbelly. We know that Gringotts is the taller building in Diagon Alley but the price tag is higher. It makes me think there may be some side builds in it. I would preer it to fit into the Diagon Alley set from 2020 real nicely.

I’d think so too but I think Promobricks released a description with no sidebuilds except for the tracks and vaults

In truth, I thought about it and the bank shouldn't require too many pieces, inside there is only the room we see in the movies.. unless the structure is huge, or the underground system is particularly complex, they could stay two shops…
Darth Shadowthrone Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Gringotts is a lot taller than the other shops and it should be more 3d like WWW but even deeper, with the road continuing on each side - that being said I don’t see how it can include a similar amount to the other diagon alley set
JeanGreyForever Posted March 30, 2023 Posted March 30, 2023 Very annoying that they're remaking WWW. I hope Gringotts at least includes either the Leaky Cauldron or Borgin and Burkes but now it seems like this Gringotts may not even be compatible with the D2C Diagon Alley.
Modal Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Not only remaking WWW but it will be an inferior version in piece count. That an yet another Hogwarts Express. What a waste of space. At least I’m one of the few here who is excited for the micro scale Hogwarts + grounds.
Accio Lego Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 (edited) There are several sets this year that I’m definitely waiting to see before I make up mind on them, but I think I might have to grab this new Hogwarts Express - the 2004 versions with Hogsmeade station are some of the only gaps in my pre-revival collection, so it’s hard to resist filling that gap, even if I’ve already got an impressive collection of Hogwarts Expresses. So what scene does everyone think we’ll get? 2004 did the PoA Dementor attack, but both the 3028 system train and the Collectors Edition thoroughly covered that. Going by the movies, notable appearances of the Hogsmeade station are the final scenes of SS and OotP, which both offer some fun possibilities, as well as the infamous HBP scene that was also covered in the Collectors Edition. karrit Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Any chance this Hogwarts Express will contain the parts to motorized it or at least be compatible with adding the neccessary parts like they did with the 2016 Winter Holiday Train? That's the one thing I didn’t like about the 2018 release that they didn't make it easy to motorize. I'll most likely be buying the new one anyway for the Hogsmeade Station. Hope they use the same color parts for the train so we can possibly put some of it together with the 2018 one to add more passenger cars. Gringotts is a definite buy for me. The Diagon Alley Shop, will have to see what the set actually contains but probably will wait for a decent discount since I have the big Diagon Alley set. As for the rest the only one I'm definitely not getting is the Hogwarts Grounds one since I don’t buy microscale sets. Hope we get to see some pictures soon.
Slytherin Alumni Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Personally, I'm excited about the stand alone WWW set! When DA came out, WWW was the only shop I wanted and wished they had sold them separately. I almost got just that shop off eBay or built my own, but now I'm glad I didn't. Minifigures of the twins are less rare than they used to be but I'll be happy to get new ones. They did an updated version of the twins from the 2011 DA in the 2020 DA, so should we expect the same minifigures a 3rd time? The twins are my favorite minifigures to get for some reason and I still want them 1) in their vests and scarfs during Xmas at GP in OotP 2) in face paint, hat, scarfs at the Quidditch World Cup and 3) in their Wesley jumpers F and G. I really thought we would get a full Quidditch field this year. The last one retired in 2020? and it's surprising they would go 3 years without one on shelves. Maybe it didn't sell well? I finally got a couple of the Quidditch Practice Polybags :) If you are in the US, check Target's website. The availability goes in and out of stock, but you can sign up to be notified. We should get official pictures next month. However, I will be staying off social media on Saturday just as a precaution
Legocentrico Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 I'm lost, I'm reading new sets in these pages that are not mentioned by the leakers on instagram
BrickMatit Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 16 minutes ago, Legocentrico said: I'm lost, I'm reading new sets in these pages that are not mentioned by the leakers on instagram We're simply speculating on two prediction made by @bRICKbRAT. He right predicted in january most of the summer sets the day before Promobricks put out a teasear about them. Quote Here’s my predictions: - Expectro Patronum remake set - Battle of Hogwarts set since we usually get at least one DH set per wave. - Buildable Dobby set similar to I am Groot. We always get a buildable creature per wave and this one would be a cute pick. - Quidditch Trunk because we usually get an out of left field set. - Durmstrang Ship with Igor Karkaroff fig He also suggested the 76419 wouldn't be D2C Knight Bus, when it was rumoured to be, but, instead, a Hogwarts Castle and Grounds set. Now he predicted the unknow sets for this summer will be: 76422_Diagon Alley: Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes for $89.99 and 76423_Hogwarts Express + Hogsmeade station $129.99. I tend to keep it easy and take any leak with a big spoon of salt , more as a cue to share ideas and opinions on the theme than something that will absolutely happened. But that' just me.
Yope Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 I don't think I'll be convinced of these upcoming sets until a more reliable source confirms them. Nothing personal against @bRICKbRAT of course, their short track record is good and they've made valuable contributions here - we've just had too many false claims in the past! If true then it's a disappointing and concerning outcome. Firstly, it's a shame in general to get remakes when there are such important locations still missing. For the WWW set, I thought the version in Diagon Alley was perfect so this feels like a wasted opportunity for a Leaky Cauldron or Borgin and Burkes. There would no doubt be new inclusions to set this apart from last time but it feels very unnecessary. The big concern for me is whether it means Gringotts is incompatible with Diagon Alley - I am not fussed about the underground section or dragon at all in a Gringotts set but the bank is the centre piece of Diagon Alley and if LEGO is not to make it compatible then that would be a huge let down. As for the new Hogwarts Express, this seems again likely to disappoint anyone who purchased the D2C set. If it is able to be motorised I'm sure that would appeal to many and if it's in dark red then that would be a big improvement - however both would raise questions about why it wasn't possible in the D2C. As far as I remember the Hogsmeade station only appears in the 1st and 5th films. I think the version from the 1st film would be much more interesting personally but I'm not sure what scenes from either would be worth depicting.

Ma sono solo io. wow thanks bro! now everything is very clear, and the sets are very interesting. I seem to recall that we get the images in April, so we will be able to check very soon

I can’t believe it’s been three years already since that clownery Ah, the memories… B2T: While this year’s 2HY is not really exciting to me apart from Gringotts and the BoH, we could still get some interesting minifigs! Not the ones on my wishlist though, as that one has gotten laughably short (Igor, Xenophilius, Scabior, Bill, and OotP-style Death Eaters). Ok, Bill could technically show up in the Gringotts set and Scabior has a small chance of being included in the BoH set, but the rest will surely not be featured in any of these sets. However, we could still see some interesting inclusions like an improved Lavender This year already gives us Rita and Aberforth plus the minifigs from the March wave, so I can’t really complain too much! 9 minutes ago, bRICKbRAT said: Also I was wrong about Expecto Patronum being a remake set. krimimimi Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Out of curiosity, I'm wondering how many people would rather see the Gringotts budget spent on the dragon and the vaults / rail cars, or on extra shops instead (like KA Borgin & Burke's and Phalanges, or DA Eyelops and Madam Malkins)? Does the possibility of a DA:WWW set make you hopeful or worried about what appears to be a new direction they're taking? Also can't help wondering about the impact of Marcos Bessa's departure on the development.
Murdoch17 Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 I'm hoping and praying the Hogwarts Express looks reasonably well done / accurate, or at the very least the station is compatible with the other Hogsmeade sets. (NO large scale shenanigans!)
