Oh man, I would LOVE for Fang to be included in an upcoming set. I have fond memories of playing as him in the first LEGO Harry Potter videogame.

I still have Narcissa Malfoy from the 2010/2011 range, but I agree that she needs to make a reappearance.

I'm excited about the rumored Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes set--Diagon Alley was out of my price range, but I've always loved that particular location.

It's the HbP.

The reason I remembered seeing him was because my and cousin always commented on how smaller Fang looked when he's on the station from the first 2 movies. I think the dog was replaced.

*oh2* well blow me down.

Fang was played by I think six or seven different dogs, so that could explain the size difference!

Hah, I knew Fang was there in one scene!! Even though it's from my least favourite of the films :laugh_hard:

I'm not giving him high chances of actually making it into the set, but he would definitely be an awesome inclusion.

There are a great deal of British actors left who never starred in Harry Potter like Judi Dench, Vanessa Redgrave, Michael Caine, Jeremy Irons, Helen Mirren, etc. But look at their ages. Michael Caine is 90 I believe. Judi Dench is 88, the same age as Maggie Smith, and Vanessa Redgrave is 86. And I'm not sure even if you took their ages aside that they'd be interested in starring in HP if they didn't the first time around. Mirren at least did the Harry Potter game show. I know Kate Winslet and Hugh Grant were supposed to be in the original movies, or Grant was anyway but Kate Winslet's agent refused on her behalf. For most of the elite British talent, they hardly need a boost to their careers let alone from a show like this. For any fledgling or neophyte actors, I can't imagine they'd ever compare to the likes of Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Richard Harris, Gary Oldman, Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton, Ralph Fiennes, etc.

You've just admitted then that teenagers can be unlikable. No one said that Harry wasn't justified in being unlikable but he was unlikable nonetheless. The movies didn't beat it over the head how angsty he was, especially in OOTP when he's exploding in anger every few pages (something even Ron, Hermione, and Ginny note). JKR had the books planned way in advance. She knew about Snape's characterization from the beginning so it makes no sense your explanation that the movies were made in hindsight of Snape's secret whereas the books weren't. If JKR could tell Alan Rickman during the first movie, it's because she already knew herself while writing all the books but any book fans can tell you that Snape was far more pompous (even preening in PoA when he believes he will win an award from Fudge for catching Black) and unsympathetic such as when he demeans Hermione's appearance in Goblet of Fire after she's cursed by Draco. I don't know why you're taking it so personally that some of the characters could be less sympathetic in the books vs the movies.

:wall: it would appear that you would miss the point even if armed with heat seeking missiles. Some of them not even my own points. This time I am done.

In my opinion, the only must-haves are Lee Jordan, Igor Karkaroff, Narcissa Malfoy, Bill Weasley, and Xenophilius Lovegood. Oh, and a masked Death Eater. These we need before the theme ends.

Lee Jordan is still possible for the trunk. It’s Harry, Draco and 4 students, correct? Lee is a student so, fingers crossed he is included. Bill Weasley should be in the 2024 D2C if that does actually happen.

Didn’t we already get a masked death eater? I have one that’s Lucius Malfoy then the other face is the masked DE with a hood. I think it’s from DA 2011? Of course, it would be great to get a battle pack of DE to go with the BoH!

I think the implication was that the “4 students” refer to four quidditch players, one from each house. It’s certainly possible that they (the leaker) meant just generic students, but then I think they would have phrased it differently.

Also, when folks on here talk about missing characters, they mostly mean from 2018 onwards. Most of the earlier figures (but not all) don’t hold up so well against their newer counterparts. That’s also why you’ll hear people asking for Karkaroff and Narcissa, despite both of them having appeared prior to 2018. The death eater mask print that you’re referring to, however, was pretty good, and I don’t think it would look too out of place amongst the later sets.

Ah, you’re right…went back and watched again: Pieces to make students from each house, quidditch robes, Harry and Ron minifigures. So, probably ‘build a student’ like the trunk from last year. A missed opportunity for sure!

That makes sense. I don’t have a Narcissa, so I hope the put her in a set again soon. Malfoy Manor would be my pick. Also, a Spinners End/the Unbreakable Vow set would be a cool.

So are we expecting the six figures in the Quidditch set to be Harry in Gryffindor Quidditch robes and Malfoy in Slytherin Quidditch robes, then a further Gryffindor and Slytherin set of robes and one set of Hufflepuff and one set of Ravenclaw robes to create our own characters?

Bit annoying to get 2x the common torso and 1x the rare ones...

That targets collectors, people wanting a play set will want to set up a team against a team, so three from one house three from another.

Sorry folks, never know if it is ok to suggest items for sale on here but it is very specific to this forum.  I little while ago I bought 5 more white Pegasus to go with the 2 I already had from the Beauxbatons Carriage set making it "movie accurate" with 7 Pegasus.  They are in like-new condition and I only collect minifigures now so if someone would be interested in the 5 to make themselves a set of 7 with their carriage set, please message me.  Will do a very reasonable price and will ship anywhere.

I also have just bought 76420 Triwizard Tourni Black Lake Set just for the figures, so if anyone would like the pier/building section that is still in bags never built I have that too.  I remember reading I think that some people wanted to have 3 to again make their display more like the movie.

Thanks.

Do you think they'll redesign Hogwarts for the show? Personally, while I adore the iconic one we know and love, I hope for a smaller, more traditional castle like in some of the book illustrations.

Topic Bricks new video suggests a rumor they won’t be making anymore Hogwarts expansions after this year. Can anyone verify? If true, that’s promising as 2-3 sets per year were taken by Hogwarts expansions. More room for other sets. Hopefully some we’ve never gotten before.

I'm not in any position to confirm this, but I wouldn't be surprised if the current iteration of Hogwarts (the modular system) got replaced next year. The last one ran from 2018 to 2020, so it would make sense for this one to run from 2021 to 2023, and for them to start anew in 2024.

Plus, in 2021 we got the huge Chamber of Secrets, the Polyjuice Mistake as a smaller, add-on, and the Fluffy Encounter. 2022 brought us the Hospital Wing, Dumbledore's Office, and Sirius Black's Rescue. This year so far we've only got the Room of Requirement, and there's possibly the Battle of Hogwarts (this is the only of the leaked sets I could possibly see fitting in with the modular system, but we don't even know for sure if it will). That makes only 2 sets maximum in 2023 compared to 3 in both the previous years. Personally, I cannot understand why they wouldn't have seized the chance to do many smaller sets like the Polyjuice Mistake, but I think it's fairly clear by now that they won't. So yes, I do think that the current Hogwarts system is on its way out - but like others have said, I'm pretty sure we'll get some new version of Hogwarts instead. You can't really call the them "Wizarding World" without some Hogwarts sets each year, can you?

The Ninjago baby dragon that just leaked reminds me of the glorious leaks in 2019 and 2020 (and to a lesser extent, 2021). Too bad they managed to reduce them to this degree since then, as I would really like to see the BoH minifigs asap :excited:

Granted, it could still happen, but we‘re getting pretty close to the official reveal anyway.

I thought you were going to say it could be used for Norbert, but I just looked and unfortunately not.

As if Lego has ever let such inaccuracies stop them from re-using a mold before!

It's too big for freshly-hatched Norbert, but maybe in a few years when they make sets of the upcoming TV show they will use it for a larger Norbert in an Astronomy tower set.

A new part for baby Norbert would definitely be welcome. Wrong scale, sure, but it could also represent the starter Pokémon tiny dragons from GoF, as we never saw the real dragons apart from the Hungarian Horntail :classic:

Fingers crossed for a PS Hagrid‘s Hut in 2024! Probably the only remake of anything post 2018 that I would actually want. Apart from that excellent D2C Burrow from the survey leak, that is.

I watched PotterMiniFigPal's video about the upcoming set rumours and just being reminded of what's coming makes me disappointed.

Expecto Patronum, Dobby, Quidditch Trunk and Hogwarts Grounds: All display/gimick sets and not playsets

Hogwarts Express and WWW: Remakes of recent sets

So basically for completionists the only new playsets are Battle of Hogwarts and Gringotts (with the latter being about 4-500$/£).  This makes for quite a disappointing wave, especially compared to last summer. I really feel like they should have saved one of the gimick sets for next years March wave and added another new location playset to this wave such as the Lovegood house.

I really, really hope that the Hogsmeade station build is substantial and that we get Fang, and that a Pygmy Puff is included in both WWW (and maybe an improved Love Potion?) and the train (one purple, one pink). Those things and the minifigures are really all that could me excited about those sets.

I'm going to rewatch all the movies now we know about the show.

Honestly, it's not so bad when you also consider the March wave. Had we gotten the Quidditch Trunk in March and the Lake Task and RoR sets in June instead, there would certainly be fewer complaints now

Meh, I totally get that. From what it looks like, the only set I MIGHT get of this year's waves is one of the House banners, and those seem way overpriced. I wish that we'd get more affordable play sets that also look good when displayed! The trunk likely won't deliver - I mean what's there to display, if it looks anything like the magic trunk we know -, and the House banners look none too great either opened or closed. That pretty much leaves the Lake Task, the RoR, and a bunch of even more expensive sets to come.

Also, I've never understood why LEGO Harry Potter, despite being mostly aimed at kids, is so un-affordable TO kids. The cheapest sets currently available are the Polyjuice Potions Mistake and the Thestral Carriage, and both of them are from previous years AND have a list price of EUR 20 each, which is not cheap, period. Star Wars gets all those microfighters, Marvel gets affordable EUR 10 sets with two minifigures (like Shuri's Lab and the upcoming GotG sets) - why can't there be something similar with Harry Potter? Heck, I'd gladly buy a smaller add-on for the modular Hogwarts (a single room on a plate with 8x8 studs) based on, say, the Final Challenge from 2001. Instead, all we get are more and larger sets that I doubt any kid with an allowance and an interest in the theme (say, aged 8 or so) could afford.

I thought the crossover with Dots would change things up a bit. But no. Despite Dots having plenty of affordable sets (all those individual bracelets!), none of the three HP sets were particularly affordable for kids either. I just don't understand this.

I'm wondering if the next year or so will bring Cursed Child sets (if, indeed, the film hasn't been canned). Might be an opportunity to get older variants of some of the main characters in minifigure form?

That was just a rumor. Cursed Child isn't in development, especially now with the reboot coming out. JK Rowing said no to a movie version because it would harm the play financially and also the original cast has refused to return, mainly Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Roberts.

I wasn't sure if the reboot has changed things, but I work in film and TV and I definitely know of a few people who were signed on to work on Cursed Child (this was about a month or so ago)

Oh wow, that's really interesting! Do you know anything else about the project, like if it was meant to showcase the original actors or were they being recast? It seems strange to me though that WB would go ahead and start production when JKR herself said no to a film adaptation unless that was just a rumor. Could it also be possible that this Cursed Child adaptation was really just the reboot and the people you know got them mixed up?

I'd much rather see a Cursed Child film with the original cast than a whole new reboot.
