Also the interior of the tall building is facing in, like the magical interior is on the WWW Diagon Alley side and then they've got the exterior and the sign for the muggle London side. The thing with the Leaky Cauldron is that the interior isn't really that interesting, so all they really need is a table or two on the ground floor and a bed or two above and they've captured the essence of the inn, taking the focus away from the pub side. Yes it could have been sold separately and bigger, but this way, by taking inspiration from the American set up rather than the London studio tour, they would give fans a taste of what they want whilst providing those who can't afford DA with one of the brighter iconic buildings they know will probably sell well. Like you say it's also a good way to give us Tom. They're was also that tease of a Leaky cauldron sign in the 2021 advent the same time as we got those Gringotts objects do the timing would be fitting from that point. I could be wrong of course, but of all the DA buildings I'm guessing it's The Leaky Cauldron. The Three Broomsticks isn't that exciting either. I'd have guessed that the LC would be at least as big. And that set was called "Hogsmeade Village Visit", not "Hogsmeade: Honeydukes". Still, you might well be right. If it is the LC, though, I wonder when it would be set, and with what characters. The LC mostly appears in the books in first and third year, but WWW was only established in sixth year.

I would guess it won't be tied to a year exactly and just include Tom as the minifigure, by which I mean the later version of him. So that would be POA themed if anything. I would guess the main bulk of the minifigures would be to do with the WWW shop and the street itself - Fred, George, Lavender, maybe Narcissa, Fentir etc

As for the HE, I think we sadly have to rule out Fang. While there is still some chance - since Hagrid’s obviously there - wouldn’t they show Fang right next to him? Sure, we don’t see the other 6 minifigs either, but those are likely already aboard the train Edited April 24, 2023 by BrickBob Studpants

Bugbot20082 Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Totally random thought I had the other day: a novel idea for a future advent calendar, which would satisfy those craving a ‘tent in the forest set’ Deathly Hallows part 1 themed advent calendar, figures include the trio in their traveling outfits, Ron with a bandage, Harry with a broken mirror, Hermione with a purple bag. Other figures could be the minister of Magic, snatchers etc characters which only show for the one film and don’t fit elsewhere. What’s unique about this set it that it includes a punch-out plastic ‘cloth’ tent similar as those form Indiana Jones and city, either packed in loose into the box behind the cardboard pockets or it punches out of the back fold down flap of the box itself. The artwork of the rest of the ‘floor’ is a snowy clearing for the campsite and an icy pond etc. builds include the brick base frame for the tent, radio, campfire, sword in ice, Gravestone from Godric’s Hollow etc
Legoman123 Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 So just how many sets are left to be revealed for the summer HP wave? To be honest the Hogwarts section really doesn’t look all that great and looks like it’s going to have next to no interior whatsoever. I am very interested in what the tall building is and I actually don’t really have any idea.

The only reason I can see that not working is because Deathly Hallows Part 1 got a lot of complaints by fans for being boring, particularly all the camp scenes when the trio (and later duo) is on the run. Lego might feel there isn't interest in revisiting that period. One Deathly Hallows theme I'd like to see is Bill and Fleur's wedding so we can get wedding outfits for all the characters there. That's probably the only way we'd ever get an Aunt Muriel minifigure.
MaxHeadroom Posted April 25, 2023 Posted April 25, 2023 (edited) Seeing the new sets, the remakes have certainly raised my eyebrows. Adding in a second carriage to the HE for the first time and whatever this extra building is to WWW is intriguing. I’m far more tempted now then I would’ve been had they just given us some new figures, Pygmy puffs, and a train station. The HE seems like a legitimate and desirable upgrade from the 2018 version (although I would’ve preferred to see it in dark red for once) and one actually worth buying. The problem for me of course is that the HE takes up so much horizontal space and so little vertical space, along with the Quidditch set (and the 2010 HE) it’s always been one of my least favorite sets to display because of that. Maybe I’ll get it, if I see it on a decent sale and like it when we see more of it. IMO WWW wasn’t worth a remake just yet, and this build is in line with that. I was never bothered by the head on the original or the shape of the building. This one looks very hollow, I wonder if it’s just the two walls we see in the image. That second building is certainly something though. Again maybe I’ll buy it depending on sales and what else we see in proper pictures. Maybe I’ll wait and see what happens with this DA reboot next year though before I invest in it. Remember when these Hogwarts sets were about modular interiors? I know they didn’t quite commit that first year (still advertising the exteriors on the boxes) and kind of dropped the ball on the interiors last year but here it seems like it’s completely gone. It’s an okay looking Hogwarts set awkwardly shoved into this format and I can’t help but think about how much better it might look if the designer wasn’t restricted to this style. I still love the general concept of these and wish they would’ve fully embraced it instead of going halfway and often failing and both interiors and exteriors. I think it really could’ve been great. At this point though I do hope they just throw in the towel and give us an exterior based system next year since it seems like thats what they want to do, if they can make a set like this when restricted I’d love to see what they can do with some freedom. A big success from the modular line is that they’ve proven Hogwarts buildings don’t need to be iconic (take Sirius’ Rescue) or even recognizable (Forbidden Corridor, ROR) to be sold on the front of boxes. There’s no reason we couldn’t get an exterior focused modular system more complete than the 2018-20 lineup. If they can make two sets for just the courtyard I’m sure the Great Hall itself and the staircase tower could be separate sets allowing for more detail than the 2018 versions. It would be bittersweet loosing this rectangle system but I think it would be the right thing to do. I am interested in what minimal interiors this set will contain and I’m looking forward to see how exactly it attaches to this system with its apparently hinged wings. I do currently 100% think I’ll buy it though which is a first for this Hogwarts format. The other sets are all things that exist I won’t really think twice about. The patronus looks nice and I’d want Dobby’s sock for the injoke but that’s as far as my interest goes. Edited April 25, 2023 by MaxHeadroom typo

krimimimi Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 @Surge It's the 25th "anniversary" of the Battle of Hogwarts, so a perfect PR opportunity when you're releasing a set literally called "Battle of Hogwarts".

NostalgicBricks Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I think it's a bit far-fetched to think Lego's marketing team would be aware of the significance of that date, but who knows. Monday is a bank holiday here in Britain but I don't know about Europe, so maybe it will be Tuesday. I definitely think it will be one day next week if not this coming Friday. 2 minutes ago, Textorix said: Yeah I mean I am quite suprised that all we got by now is just that one blurry picture I hope someone leaks a Fang and Pygmy Puff.
spiderfan2000 Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 It's interesting comparing the 2018-2020 Hogwarts sets to the 2021-present sets. The 2018-2020 sets were more solid as standalone sets, but the current system is pretty fun to come up with new configurations for. A decent number of the sets definitely work much better when treated as expansions for the larger system than as sets in their own right (Looking at you, Fluffy Encounter).

Slytherin Alumni Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 May 1st is the Anniversary of them breaking into Gringotts. Maybe we will hear more on that or the GWP vault. I’m wondering which vault and what price threshold it will be. It could be Harry’s vault, vault 713 (SS/PS) or Bellatrix’s vault. Hopefully whichever one it is will attach to Gringotts itself. As for price threshold, I’m thinking $250 usd.

Since the massive price tag suggests a strong possibility of getting the Gringotts dragon alongside the actual building, I’m guessing that the LeStrange vault will be released in the actual set - leaving the GWP to be one of the vaults featured in the first movie. This GWP will undoubtedly be used to incite more sales of the the Gringotts set, so while a high Harry Potter spending threshold is possible, we might see it being tied specifically to purchasing the bank set.
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 A reveal next week (at the earliest) is looking more and more likely. Right now, sets from three themes have been teased (Mario, Dreamzzz, and Ninjago), and I guess we‘ll see all of those before the HP reveal Funny how the earliest reveal last year is followed by the latest reveal this year
Accio Lego Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Speaking of the Dreamzzz teasers, I noticed some very interesting potential parts. The poster shows both a male character with what appears to be dreadlocks and an actual hourglass piece. Admittedly this is poster art and there’s no guarantee yet that there are real life parts to correspond with it, but given that we’re talking about one of the main Dreamzzz characters and and object that seems to be central to the storyline, the odds are in favor of us seeing those parts when the actual sets are revealed. Hopefully that means we’ll see recolors in the Harry Potter theme to give us Lee Jordan and Slughorn’s hourglass.
