Does anyone know why the new Microscale Hogwarts would be in the Japanese catalog but not Gringotts? Is the Microscale not a D2C as well? Thanks

I'm liking the Prisoner of Azkaban theme for the Advent Calendar here.

Just rewatched the scene where Harry throws snowballs at Draco to see if the figs were accurate.

Hermione's looks completely spot on, really like the hair/hat piece choice, and good scarf printing.

Ron is alright, shame there's not a more accurate hat piece to pick from. The jumper colour looks more grey/blue than brown.

Harry's is good, hope he has the invisibility cloak accessory. The colour is really dark in the film, but it is red and blue.

Draco also looks good, but has the same slight issue as Ron with the film hat being a little different. (tbh I'm glad they aren't making new moulds for something so insignificant).

As for the new microscale, I'm not a massive fan of huge piece count sets, but honestly it looks great. Very complete and looks like a nice 360° display piece. Cool to include the beaubaton carriage and Durmstrang ship, reminds me how they had them at the studio tour in London around the real giant Hogwarts model as the type was themed on Goblet of Fire.

The Hogwarts model looks nice but a pass for me since I don't buy microscale except for a few Star Wars ones primarily for the minifigs.  Hope we see a Gringotts leak soon.

Doesn't look complete to me. The training grounds are clearly missing, and I don't think there's enough space for the Clocktower and its courtyard either.

Yes, I can't see the Clocktower either. Hopefully it's just hidden in the back.

Nice choice with the Advent Calendar to make it a companion to the play sets again, as opposed to more microscale builds. I like how this can be combined with the Hogsmeade Village set, the Shrieking Shack and the new train station to make a nice little Hogsmeade Christmas town.

Ha! We've only seen maybe half the contents. Let's say there are six figs plus there are six builds shown on the box. That leaves us with 12 as yet unknown builds, and I can definitely picture them putting four - six of the microscale things in there. Microscale most likely wouldn't have fit in as well with the art on the box's front. And if the response on this forum last year was remotely typical, it isn't as much of a sales draw either.

I agree it's a good choice. In the past I wanted a Burrow theme or Grimmauld Place as that's where Harry spent Christmas in books 5 & 6, but with the Hogsmeade Station set coming I think this the ming works much better.

Also since that Hogsmeade Village set didn't have Ron or Hermione, and the Shrieking Shack set was based on the later scene in PoA, it works to have their winter versions here.

Whether it's Aberforth as the minifig on the side of the box remains to be seen, as we only see the Hogs Head in 5 and 7. Hope it is as I can't see Lego doing a whole HH set.

It is. The minifig has already leaked a while ago

Hey quick question will there be any Harry Potter GWP related sets coming up? I only ask because when I usually splurge for harry potter sets when they get released LEGO decides to release the Harry Potter GWP after I bought them all lol.

It’s suppose to be a “Gringotts vault” GWP. It’s unknown when it will be released, but the running assumptions is alongside the Gringotts D2C set later this year. Presently we don’t have any info about a GWP accompanying the summer wave.

I like this microscale Hogwarts a lot. It's a good size to be easily displayable and capture essential detail, while also having the inherent twee cuteness that microscale brings. I reckon it'll still feel a bit expensive for its size but I enjoy it nonetheless.

It also has some awesome parts. I didn't know they even still had that old crystal part they're using for trees in the parts catalogue, so it's cool to see that back at all, and in a new colour to boot. Also tan binoculars!

And finally, I'm very curious to see what they'll use that new minifigure beard part for in the future. They surely didn't create it just for this.

Excactly my thoughts! They could’ve just used one of the other beard pieces that already exist in pearl gold  So this must be intended for another minifig. Pretty amazing how much detail went into that minifig

Edit: I saw a picture of the actual architect statue and the new beard is an exact match. Looks like they designed this element specifically for him after all!

I really love that Hogwarts set. I think I'll get that, part out my UCS Hogwarts, and keep the teeny tiny model as my display piece until I can start work on my moc.

The Architect statue is great. I'd love to add further stutues inside Hogwarts using the golden Dumbledore and McGonnagall parts, but they're way to expensive.

In regards to the castle, the most obvious omissions are the Clock Tower and Wooden Bridge, which I think could have been squeezed onto another row of 16 stud plates, meaning we could also have had Hagrid's Hut, the Owlery and some of the Forbidden Forest. The castle is clearly based on HBP (same as the UCS version) but has omitted most of the Training Grounds.

Also, nice of Lego to go back to dark grey roofs

The new Microscale Hogwarts set looks nice, but for that price...

I just don't see how it justifies 170 USD. The set contains mostly 1 x 2 and 1 x 1 parts and looks very small (just take the minifig as comparison, or the picture in which it is put on a shelf). I'm not even sure if it's worth as a display set due to the size, I guess you will hardly be able to see it from across the room :pir-devil:

Also quite sad that they still did not manage to complete the castle as the clock tower is missing.

The architect minifig looks really awesome tho.

That architect figure is amazing, incredible they made a new beard mould for it. I wasn’t tempted before but might get the set on sale for that. I’m surprised he doesn’t have a little stand or podium however

I’m really pleased with how the AC is turning  out, finally back to system scale models! The printed signpost for ‘Hogwarts’ is great to have, only ting more I wish for from this set now is a printed Hogs Head pub signpost like the LC from year before last

If they had made the base an exact square it could have fit the the Clock Tower and Owlery, like the Noble Collection sculpture.

As it is now, the backside looks more like Hogwarts from Philosopher's Stone/Chamber of Secrets

I’m quite sure now that the Polybag of the micro quidditch pitch is a spin-off or intended to be complimentary to the micro Hogwarts. I think it’s in scale

It's not. Gringotts is the only D2C we're getting this year.

I'm surprised that more people are not annoyed that lego made the castle micro scale and then didn't give us the full castle. I think it looks nice but it's incomplete. I've seen better versions made by fans. I couldn't help myself if i got it, I'd have to expand it like this version which is beautiful. Even a few studs bigger with the clock tower and bridge would have been fine. Loads of people still want the rest of the last microscope castle as a set, lego never learn. I think the figure is great but a lot of people don't even know who it is.
