Surge Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 brickclicker says gringotts is 8+ which i personally cannot see, my best guess is its a typo or a misread or something like that, a little suspicious that its 8 of a numbers, but tbh i do not know the average age range
Axxe90 Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 (edited) So BrickClicker confirms that Gringotts will consist of 2 buildings that can either be displayed on top of each other or you remove to top section with the Gringotts building and put it next to Diagon Alley. so guess I was right that Promobricks saw the pictures when they did their teaser video in April… 13 Minifigs is quite a lot, I wonder who they will include!! My guess is at least 3 goblins (the three different variants that are on banner display in the London Lego store) + Griphook Harry, Ron & Hermione Bellatrix and the Deatheater that Ron turns into in DH Maybe Hagrid to also use the set for PS? I really hope for Bill too! Edited June 7, 2023 by Axxe90

BrickBob Studpants Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 I like the sound of that 13 minifigs sounds great too! I guess it’s gonna be the following: Harry Ron as Dragomir Despard Hermione as Bellatrix Griphook Bogrod 3x random goblins 2x Gringotts guards Bill Weasley 2x random wizards This is under the assumption that the set focusses exclusively on DH2. If it’s a PS/DH hybrid, the two random wizards can be replaced with Hagrid and another Harry
Accio Lego Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 56 minutes ago, Axxe90 said: Harry, Ron & Hermione Bellatrix and the Deatheater that Ron turns into in DH We’ve never gotten a separate minifigs for disguised characters so I doubt we’ll get minifigures for Bellatrix and Ron’s transfigured form (which isn’t meant to mimic an actual person). I don’t see why that would change here, it’s not like anyone is able to change clothes until well after escaping the bank. I imagine we’ll get custom double sided heads like the Ministry set. So the definite minifigures we should get in the set: 1. Harry 2. Ron (with disguised alternate face) 3. Hermione (with polyjuice alternate face) 4. Griphook 5. Bogrod 5/13 leaves a lot of open slots. Even if we give a fairly generous 3 figs each for both random goblin tellers and wizard guards it would still leave a couple slots leftover (and I see 6 unnamed characters as being pretty generous - for a set this expensive I just don’t see Lego giving us a character line up that isn’t at least half recognizable). As far as more named characters goes - Travers is a possibility if they want to add Death Eater representation, since he was present in the books and could easily pass as another patron. Bill is also an obvious option as a Gringott’s employee and one of the most notably missing characters from the lego theme. (His inclusion could also be a nice theme park Easter Egg, although I wouldn’t expect to see any other characters from the ride since it’s not a particularly accessible piece of media.) It will definitely be interesting to see what the Minifigure line up looks like in the final set. I’m just glad we’re looking at 13 because I was slightly worried we’d only get those first 5 characters that directly participated in the heist.
chris6507 Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 (edited) So the set is 100% designed to go with Diagon Alley? Not Diagon Alley: Weezley Wizard Wheezes? Gonna be so glad when I know that for sure. Edited June 7, 2023 by chris6507
Brick Wizard001 Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Interesting with 13 minifigs. My guess for the minifigures are: 1. Harry 2. Dragomir/Ron 3. Bellatrix/Hermione 4. Griphook 5. Bogrod 6. Generic goblin #1 7. Generic goblin #2 8. Gringotts guard #1 9. Gringotts guard #2 10. Mondungus Fletcher 11. Snatcher 12. Death Eater 13. Either Bill Weasley / Hagrid / Quirrel or Generic wizard

Mondungus Fletcher Interesting… I hadn’t considered Mundungus as a possibility since he doesn’t appear in any Gringotts scenes in particular and doesn’t seem like he’d be regular bank clientele in general, but I suppose Kreacher does snatch him from the alley in DH1. That said, I think he’d fit a lot better in a Borgin and Burke’s/Knockturn Alley set.

I wondered whether they'd have the option of either putting Gringotts on top of the minecart structure or on top of an alleyway baseplate, that might have an all tile base with a few jumpers. Doubling up of parts, but means it's more compatible with Diagon Alley.

I think the trio taking three spaces is obvious, for the other ten my guess is six Goblins - Griphook, Bogrod, Gringotts Head Goblin (the one in PS who serves Harry and Hagrid), Ricbert/Cheif Goblin Teller (the one that calls for Bogrod) and two further Goblins - hopefully we get a range of faces and hair colours to go with the Dark Grey we already have. The other four will be humans, 2x Wizard Guards, Mundungus Fletcher (for the above reason) and I'm hoping Bill Weasley, but would be content with just another denizen or goblin. I wish other DA buildings were included, I thought this would be a good place to include the Menagerie, but never mind
brickbride Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Some further information from the video in case anyone can't access it: - Gringotts includes the bank, the mine cart system (with rollercoaster tracks and carts), and the Ukrainian Ironbelly, so basically three builds in one set. - The vault promo being rated 8+ is significant because Brick Clicker speculates that it might be available with all HP purchases (not just Gringotts); the reason being that if it were tied exclusively to Gringotts it would likely be 18+.
Xcube Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Probably a weird idea, but I believe the structure below from Gringotts Bank will be similar to the Batcave Shadowbox
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 The fact you can display the minecart system either below or next to the bank itself is definitely a relief to hear. Gives me more options for rearranging things on top of my display cabinets @Brick Wizard001 Huh, I didn‘t even think of Mundungus, that would be another really good choice! Also, I‘m really glad now that Gringotts is a separate set rather than a part of DA. It‘s just a shame it took them three entire years to do it

Either Bill Weasley / Hagrid / Quirrel or Generic wizard Very good list 👍 I have been saying Mondungus should be in a DA set for ages I would only swap the Snatcher for the Head Goblin as seen in PS, perhaps with a new mould for a bald head with more pointy ears. I appreciate this set was many peoples wish but I don’t like how it puts the dragon behind such a huge paywall, it’s not fair for most children who want to play out the action scenes. Plus a lot of bricks will have to be used to make the cave foundations/pillars strong enough to support the building on top. I’m sure it will look awesome nonetheless Also it’s not impossible that they might revisit the dragon/vault in a smaller set later on similar to how they remade WWW at a more affordable price Edited June 8, 2023 by Bugbot20082
chris6507 Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Does anyone in Australia know what's the deal with Battle of Hogwarts? It it a LEGO exclusive or does it have a later retail date or something? It doesn't seem to be coming out at any of the retailers.
Darth Shadowthrone Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 Yessss - dragon! What’s the bet it has a molded head like the 2019 Horntail Also if there’s 4-5 goblins I’ll be happy - another hair piece as well as Griphook widows peak would be very handy

It seems like the big retailers like kmart, target and bigw release the sets later than they used to. Definitely Kmart anyway. The last batch of Harry potter sets took a month to get to some stores in the new year. Kmart only got in WWW set in on time and i think we will have to wait until july for the rest. They definitely have changed their lego buying policies as you used to be able to pick up all the sets a few days early before their official release date. Now they seem to get a few items from all the different themes released and then get different sets in a month. Not sure if it's a lego decision or the stores decision. So if you want them on release day the lego store is the only guaranteed store to have them all which is really annoying because of the price differences.

Sure, but it‘s not like that has stopped them before. The owl post office wasn‘t in the movies either, and yet it‘s featured in the WWW set. Or how about Lupin‘s wolf patronus, which has never appeared before, not even in the books? If they can justify that, adding Bill should be pretty straightforward as he canonically works there. Just like the post office, his inclusion would tie in with the theme park And it‘d be a nice incentive for minifig collectors.

This^^^ Plus, it’s known that Bill works there and he does appear there during the trio’s heist in the Gringotts theme park ride - which admittedly I would consider very soft canon, but you’re right that it wouldn’t be the first theme park Easter egg lego has done. Plus, he’s the only member of the Weasley family who appeared on screen that hasn’t been made in Lego form yet.

We haven't seen Aunt Muriel yet either. Then again, technically she's from Molly's side, so I imagine it depends on how you define "Weasley family".
BrickBob Studpants Posted June 11, 2023 Posted June 11, 2023 In his IG story, @Brick Clicker is hinting at the potential appearance of a hair/wizard hat combo piece that leaked a while ago and would have been part of a cancelled Vidiyo wave. He doesn‘t say where it might be included, but Gringotts could be an option, like for a random customer The Hocus Pocus Ideas set is another option of course, but none of the witches have hair or hats like that… Or maybe it’s a Halloween-themed BAM piece
