T Lego Posted March 30, 2023 Author Posted March 30, 2023 @n2kar_jw Thank you for the great effort and willingness to help out the purists here! Most of the differences between the Lego and CaDa model stem from one of the following and these changes have not been executed by me: - Adapting for new panels (caused the part count to go up by 200+ as well and generated quite a few issues with the model) - No moulds for parts that are too specific (e.g. gauge cluster) - Different part behaviour There are also bits they changed of which I couldn't figure out why, but I might be able to determine that when I finally receive and build my set (two sets stuck at customs :((( Since there appears to be some demand for the original gauge cluster, here is the file: https://www.bricksafe.com/files/T_Antonie/random/gauge cluster.ldr Quote

LvdH Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Is that yellow #1 connector supposed to be connected to the orange axle of the mini LA? Wouldn’t that extend/retract the MLA while steering? I don’t recall needing that on mine and I also don’t see it in my built model. Either I forgot it while building or that’s another change by CaDA. Quote

LvdH Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 Checking both my model and the one in Tlego's photos, the #1 connector is not present in either. Look here in Tlego's original build: https://www.bricksafe.com/files/T_Antonie/ferrari-laferrari-18/20220711_140458.jpg (look between the two shock absorbers for the orange axle) Quote

If the yellow #1 connector is fixed, so it doesn't rotate (i.e. having an axle going though connector and the LA fixtures), the LA will not extend/retract on rotation. Instead the builtin clutch in the LA will absorb the rotation thus keeping the LA at the same length no matter the rotation. It's actually a quite ingenious way of using the LA. Quote
n2kar_jw Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 You are right, it is not in the picture.. However, it is part of the original Partlist, so I wonder where the Nr.1 Connector in yellow is used in a another location... Quote

I’m not sure if I understand you correctly, but the axle is supposed to rotate, because that is connected to the steering wheel and a turntable, which then turns the wheels. If you lock the orange axle then it will extend if you steer in one direction and retract if you steer in the other direction. The MLA will stay the same length without the connector because there is no resistance to hold the axle. Unless the CaDA MLA works differently (i.e. due to part quality or just a different design), there should not be a connector in my eyes. You can try it for yourself. This concept has actually already been posted a couple years ago. 33 minutes ago, n2kar_jw said: You are right, it is not in the picture.. You are completely right. It does need to rotate. Still a brilliant "misuse" of the LA - and yes, I did see this in other designs previously. Never got around to building a model with this but considering doing a second Porsche 42056 in blue and incorporating as many improvements like this paddle shifter as possible. Quote
n2kar_jw Posted March 31, 2023 Posted March 31, 2023 (edited) Building-Log 2 Hello All, after a long week, I diceded to give a break to the cockpit, starting with the monocoque. It looked to me a ltittle bit more straight forward and easier to build. Parts: There seem to be not so much differences from the CADA Parts, except for the standard 64782 Black Panel. - I use blue 3L connectors 42924 and bue 2L with axle joint 43093, while it is sometime difficult to difference the 43093 to the standard 2L Pin in the CADA build for rebuilding - For 4185 Technic Wegde Belt, please consider the correct orientation when installed, otherwise the 22961 Pin Connector with Axle will not fit. - can someone tell me where 15071 Weapon Gun is used? - I assumed it will be used in the center handle, but it seems it is 85940 double bar.... - i will need to put some more intention to the roof, in some areas it seems that cutted hose rigid is used to hold the panels and the 3x 60483 1x2 Beam with axle hole Building - Monocoque | 1 Monocoque_1 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Monocoque_2 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Monocoque_3 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Monocoque_4 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Monocoque_5 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Monocoque_6 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Monocoque_7 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr I think there is red interior missing in the CADA build between the air vents. n2kar_jw Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 (edited) Building-Log 3 Hello All, yesterday, I jumped over to the Doors for an evening/night session, thought i can finish it in one shot - took some more time, but now, left door is finished. Incredible Module, a dozen out of the box solution, really tough to finish - outstanding result! Biggest impact during converting into Lego are the differences in the panels. Parts: Replacing: - 42924 3L Blue Pin against Black Version (2x) on top red beam for visual clean [no black 3L Pins in the partlist] - Replacing 4274 LBG Pin against Red Version keeping the Red Bionicle (48267) in place - Replacing 27940 Pin with 2 Axle from DBG into black on inside part of the door [27940 is new since the Daytona (4x), quite expensive at Bricklink Remarks: - Red Wing 61800 from Lego seems to vary compared to the Cada Version - Running Short of black bushes 62462, but maybe i did an error during part collection @T Lego @LvdH Not sure if the one red panel is hold by a 45590 Technic Axle Connector Double Flexible [Rubber], at least there is no one in the lego partlist - maybe you can comment / still remember Door_Question by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Building - Doors | 1 r_Door_outside by N2 KAr, auf Flickr r-Door_inside by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Edited April 7, 2023 by n2kar_jw Quote

Skiwie piwie Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 @LvdH @T Lego Do you guys maybe know when there will be a correction set released from cada? Or if it will be ever fixes. Quote
SaperPL Posted April 9, 2023 Posted April 9, 2023 @T Lego I keep coming back to this thread to take a look at the photos and compare them to figure out what it is that this model is so good, and it keeps blowing my mind that Lego is nowhere near the level of perfection that you achieved in this model. This model has just that one single imperfection that the front wheel arc/headlight connection is see through, but in comparison to that, Daytona SP3 is like all over the place with techniques, sides built with liftarms, plates sticking out at the rear corners - just too many techniques at once. I wonder if this model is going to change the quality bar for future Lego supercar sets... I definitely hope so. Quote
n2kar_jw Posted April 10, 2023 Posted April 10, 2023 (edited) Building-Log 4 Hello All, I have switched back to the Monocoque to finialize prior to building and integrating the seats. Such a cool module, I like the side fairing very much and representing the overall segmet seems to be nailed compared to the original model. Parts: - According to the partlist, rare 3x 4519 black axle (3L) is required - two of them will be used here to attach the 61070 / 61071 panel mudguards (Cada uses LBG here) - by the way, the 61071 / 71 panels which have been released in black in 3 sets back in 2014/2015 are excellent choosen and brilliant integrated! So cool :) - difficult here and there to convert from Cada panels and building approaches - still need to cut the black rigid hose for the roof connection of the panels and 1x3 thin beam Building - Monocoque | 2 I had some problems to attach 43712 (Black Wedge Curved) in the Center bach Interior. I added two 3713 technic bushes to perfectly align it in the center and finally pushed the black brick 32064 with in Axle from behind a little forward to attach the 43712 part. Monocoque_10 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Without the Cada Instructions available, i was forced to guess a little here and there, as the youtube videos did not provide full details. I believe, I matched it closely enough :) Monocoque_8 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Monocoque_9 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Seats will follow in a different module as I still struggle to get red 1x11.5 beam.... I would like to know if I Have the parts in Yellow, but I couldn't find the parts list... T-Lego shared the Lego Partlist earlier in this Thread on page 2. Using only original Lego Parts, you cant build the Model in yellow.... There a number of parts which are (currently) not available such as 2x5 Ellipse Thick (80286) or the mudguards 69911 and more... Other items which may be replaced like Pins 22961 or 44874.... I think yellow is a fantastic color for the Model, but difficult with the part share for 1:8 Technic Supercars.... I experienced the same with Loxlegos F12, which was possible to build, but some parts really hard to get. Cheers Edited April 11, 2023 by n2kar_jw Quote
