And now you know why it’s being released via CaDA, because building it in LEGO is beyond unaffordable for a lot of people

Anyway, you can order the 1x6 thin liftarms via Pick a Brick (maybe out of stock), two of the toggle joints are barely visible if I remember correctly, the 1x2 thick liftarms weren’t needed in mine so no clue where they’re located and indeed the red 1/2 pins can be the new one with friction ridges.
That just leaves the other two red toggle joints which might not need to be red, and the DBG connectors which are used for the headlights.

It's been for sale for a while now at https://www.yourwobb.com/products/cada-c61505-1-8-ferrari-laferrari Yourwobb is probably the most reputable Chinese store. Note that you will not get the box, that's also why it's cheaper than directly from CADA.

Yes I saw that too.  But I prefer to buy directly from CADA.  I do not know the yourwobb store.  Are you for certain it is the same model?  I get skittish around online stores I don't know much about.

It will be available as a CaDa Master set in the future instead (Release after Chinese new year in Februari). For any updates, details and discussions on this, be referred to this topic.

While you are absolutely right, in this case it's a thin line.

We will publish new guidelines about Cada and other brands soon-ish.

In this case, it's okay to talk about the availability of the model in this topic.

That is exactly what I was referring to.  It is now February.  I did a cursory internet search for the Chinese New Year and got about a billion different responses.  So, I did a much deeper search and whittled it down to the CNY in 2023.  Looks like it ends on 5 FEB 2023.  I hope that is my answer.

It’s the CaDA alternative for the orange wave selector from TLG. The result of the whole patent “drama”.

I was just about to ask the same question.  Aside from this part (which I imagine can be appropriately substituted) are there any other elements that's aren't a direct 1:1 from TLG?

Still not available in the CADA store.  To my knowledge it is past the Chinese New yr.   Gonna have to buy somewhere else.

The set has an error in the instructions for the gearbox (speeds limited to only 4 ratios) which is the reason it hasn't appered on the CaDa website yet. There was already stock when this error was discovered :damn: and CaDa is selling this batch only to chinese resellers (which sell to others again, so you could order one elsewhere). I don't know how long it will take to update the set and for production to be resumed.  Furthermore there were discussions on replacing the wheels with 5 spoke ones. Just discussions though, and if approved I don't whether or not they will be inlcuded in the next batch. Presumably there are more (minor) errors but I can't tell right now since they haven't sent me a copy yet. In any case I might make a video tutorial, similar to the 'easy fixes' for Bruno's Italian supercar.

I will post an update as soon as I know more details.

Such a QA issue would never happen with TLG, they always get their gearbox right, right?!

At least CaDA doesn't have the hubris of releasing at the same time a book titled "sense of perfection"...

Thank you for the update.  I did not know about all this.  Kinda wished I had waited then....b/c I don't have plans on building right away.  I have too much other stuff going on.  On well.....

Sounds good to me. I might get this set, but only with the 5 spoke wheels.

I guess they used the chrome wheels, since they had them right away, and making new moulds takes a while.

What QA issues? They are intentional features.

CaDA (hopefully) seems to be fixing them. At least the wheels. This car deserves (and needs) better wheels, and definitely not something chrome.

Stunning rendition of a beautiful machine!

Very happy to have been able to build her already. Of course, me being insufferable me, I had to make a few modifications -- for better or for worse. In general, I tried to replace System bricks by Technic solutions. Mods include:

  • front wheel arches modified using arched panels
  • modified the big rear cover, especially the area around the taillights
  • added brakelights
  • reshaped headlights
  • larger exhausts

Also I made alternatives for 85x85p.jpg?1658328782.9479377 and 85x85p.jpg and 85x85p.jpg because TLG's Daytona SP3 had not been revealed yet.
Below is a video showing my version in more detail.

Sorry for the photo-bomb at the beginning... it's the neighbor's cat and he doesn't listen to me...

Great mods. Can you tell us which parts you need for the front wheel arches? Are the wheel arches made with part 69911?

Posted

Okay thanks. Then I'll order it as soon as cada has stock and 2x 69911. Hope I don't need more parts for the wheel arches mod with only the daytona, sian and chiron I've built so far. And so not a lot of spare parts.
