Surge Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 I actually quite like the buildable characters, just not a fan of the Pochahontas ones. besides not loving the movie, I think meeko looks quite bad, just a normal looking racoon. would have much prefered something that we are unlikely to get figs of, like lion king characters. simba and nala or simba and timon and pumbaa could have worked perfectly for the icons set, i agree its odd urusla and hook are not included, as they clearly dont seem scared to remake figures from series one like maleficent

I guess for Ursula, the minifig could have competed with the one from the recently revealed royal clamshell. They can only do so many variations. They could probably have done one set for Lumiere and Cogsworth (with some minifigs), then brick heads for the rest. - The villains set is quite expensive for what we are getting. Do you guys think it has considerably more piece count compared with the buildable characters? Why so expensive for that piece count? The minifigs??? I don't suppose it has playable features??? - There are seven (7) objects and only four (4) minifigs? We are missing one each from: Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, and the Little Mermaid. One could argue that the CMF series already covered some of those villains, but the same could be said for Aladdin and Sleeping Beauty. - Perhaps these seven tales are what Disney sees are the most iconic. They left out Cinderella, interestingly. Perhaps her story will get better treatment when the castle releases??? Agreed on the buildable character set, plus I just can’t forgive what they did to poor Meeko🥲 reminds me of one of the standard animal build sets they put out villains set does seem slightly high but not too out there when you factor in the “exclusive” minifigs and overall display quality/style. Regardless, you’re right, it’s slightly overpriced they may have left out Ursula and Hook to help promote buying the new sets based on the remakes?? We’ve seen Ursula already in the clamshell set. Plus highly likely we’re getting the Peter Pan set that’s been rumored for quite some time. My guess is it (unfortunately for me) is going to be based on the remake and include Hook. Still wish we’d have a classic Smee minifig That’s the only reason I can think of as to why those 2 were left out, upcoming remakes. Still doesn’t account for the Queen of Hearts, though a Alice set with minifigs would be awesome
hikouki Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 (edited) Looking at the list of catalog numbers from Promobricks, were are left with the following items for which we do not have any descriptions, or leaked image: 40613 (microbuild Agrabah) 43213 (?) [134pcs - EUR19.99] 43218 (Anna and Elsa carousel) - minidoll series??? 43222 - Disney castle containing princess + prince minifigs? 43223 - (?) [154pcs - EUR20.99] 43224 - (?) [613pcs - EUR94.99] 43228 - (?) 43229 - (?) [$44.99] 43230 - (?) [811pcs - EUR104.99] 43231 - (?) [509pcs EUR52.99] Looking at that list for 43226 (Disney Duos) and 43227 (villains), the latter is three times (3x) the piece count of the former!!! Would anyone have any info regarding which among these are listed under the "princess" (minidolls) series in the inventory? I'm hoping that one of those seven unknowns turn out to be a Peter Pan set, Beauty and the Beast, as well as Alice in Wonderland, all in minifigs, of course!!! Edited April 23, 2023 by hikouki

Personally, I think those three might tie in with the release of Wish, so they're likely minidoll sets. 43228 is completely unknown. That should be it

Another Duos??? Lion King, this time? I'm not really a Brickheadz fan, but I think they're better off making other characters in that style. I could see Lion King working out as buildables but other characters maybe not... I think people are just assuming that there would be an upcoming minifig Peter Pan set based off of the remake since we got a Little Mermaid said based off of its own remake. Rumors have been circulating from way before the Little Mermaid, it seems.

doclord Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 I have a feeling the tower from Rapunzel will be one of those unrevealed sets. As much as I'd like her to be the last princess in the Castle it's probably going to be Merida.

Oh, I would like to see that. I'm not sure what Merida could have come with anyway to warrant a GWP and Disney has really phased her out of merchandise so that might explain the lack of inclusion for her in any sets now. The carriage would be wonderful especially with the Fairy Godmother and maybe even Jaq and Gus animal molds. Or Bruno, Cinderella's dog. Yes, they do have a mold for the hood with ribbon as part of her microdoll figure, but it's in purple and in the actual movie, her outfit is more blue than purple. 3 hours ago, hikouki said: - There are seven (7) objects and only four (4) minifigs? We've gotten the transformation forms for the Evil Queen and Jafar and if we get the Maleficent dragon set, we'll get one for her too. That leaves Ursula as the only major villain not to have her transformation in Lego form, specifically her as Vanessa. I think this villains set was a missed opportunity to include her as Vanessa. Four minifigures for a $130 set wouldn't bother me so much if not for the fact that most of them seemed to have issues. Maleficent is lacking a cape. I think they're treating her as they treat Snape in the Harry Potter sets with the idea that her robes just need to be printed on and she doesn't need a cape since she technically wears a cloak, not a cape. Personally, I'll be taking the cape from the original figure and adding it to this one because she seems a bit bare without one. Jafar's lack of a Genie headpiece will make him stick out with the original Genie. I even went back to my original Genie minifigure and gave him the gold stud and black feather instead of the headpiece to see how he looks and it just looks really uneven like a bad MOC. The gold stud is way too huge and the lack of ears really makes him less recognizable. I think it's really going to hurt the longevity of this Jafar minifigure in the long run and I wish Lego was amenable to hearing fan complaints and changing things before a set's release if there was enough public clamor. The Witch seems a bit generic with no printing minus her hair. They couldn't mold a new hood piece with hair which also makes me less sympathetic towards the fact that there's only 4 minifigures and not more than that. I think another issue is that in the movie, she's always hunching down and has a very prominent nose and the minifigure can't replicate either of those things so she looks off. I think the reason they didn't do side villains (like Mr. Smee) is because they'd stick out next to the major villains. A bit like including Horace and Jasper next to Maleficent and Jafar. Also in the Mad Hatter's case, he's not a villain. However, early on in Disney Villains merchandise, Disney did use to market the Cheshire Cat as a villain alongside the Evil Queen but they also stopped doing that circa 2010 when the live-action Alice came out. I'm still of the belief that we'll get an Alice in Wonderland set. They specifically gave us Aurora and the Evil Queen in the CMF to supplement the two survey leaked sets and I feel the Queen of Hearts' inclusion in the CMF was to supplement a Mad Tea Party set which would feature the other Wonderland characters like the Mad Hatter, March Hare, and White Rabbit. But then again, we're getting Snow White, Aurora, and Phillip in the castle set and maybe those survey sets won't even be made so I could be completely wrong. And you're right that it's very weird that Cinderella was skipped out on for the villains set. Disney doesn't make a lot of Lady Tremaine merchandise but it still seems odd especially since we still have no Cinderella content so far. She's the best-selling Disney Princess and the face of that billion-dollar franchise so it is an odd choice but they've been skimping on Belle and Snow White as well, two princesses about as equally as iconic.
Jarreth2 Posted April 23, 2023 Posted April 23, 2023 Had a quick count and including the new villains we’ll get in series 3 there are a further 10 villians you could add to this display piece. Ursula, Queen of Hearts, Evil Queen, Jafar, Hook, Hades, Syndrome, Facilier, Prince John and Ernesto. I may only add the ones that have buildable objects already present. Hoping we get the Sultan in the small Agrabah Palace set.

I am not keen on displaying them as a Lego collection (Series 1, etc). Otherwise at present, the only way to showcase them by fairy tale is by putting them in a Sannahed frame. (I know someone made some small vignettes on Flickr/ Pinterest some time back).

Too, I think it would be weird not to include her in the lineup given how well represented all the other 50's animated movies are (Cinderella has two minifigures so far, Sleeping Beauty has three and Peter Pan is likely to have three given the new Wendy Hairpiece and the unrevealed set, so Alice in Wonderland only having the Queen would be strange). 3 hours ago, hikouki said: Someone speculated some time ago that it could possibly be the Cinderella carriage... I remember a lot of people were disappointed with Cruella's minifigure when we first got a look at her without the mini cape but as soon as we saw the final version, people were far more pleased because the cape really did add some depth to her. Emperor Palpatine has a very similar cloak to what the Witch wears (which makes sense since he was inspired by her design) but he also has a cape in Lego form and would look completely bare without it so the Witch might be improved with one as well. 19 minutes ago, strangely said: I think you're right. hikouki Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 (edited) So far, it looks as if the Disney 100 lineup is diverse in terms of the types of builds: CMF, kids' set (Up House and celebration train), Art (Animation Icons), Display item (villains), and Creator+/ Icons (upcoming castle). I doubt (but would very very much like the idea that) Lego would dare make a modular (Main Street), or Architecture (skyline - although perhaps Agraba satisfies that). Wouldn't it be nice if the next modular is actually a Disney Main Street? LOL I know it is a really long shot! __________ 41 minutes ago, strangely said: I think you're right. OttoRiver Posted April 24, 2023 Posted April 24, 2023 Anyone find it odd that Tiana is supposedly included in the Disney Castle after just having been in the CMF? I feel like they should have put her in her blue dress for the CMF and saved her green dress for the castle to match Naveen. Or do we think they could have a new ballgown mold to use for Cinderella and Tiana instead?

Hopefully Cinderella has it too, it could be used for Belle/Ariel as well haha
