I thought FluffySky6 didn't remember seeing any traditional Disney characters such as Mickey and Minnie included with the castle (though FluffySky6 could have misremembered or didn't see the full lineup)

Oh true, I found his exact comment. It would be hard to not distinguish Mickey & friends… however blurriness can be to blame as well.

I really am hoping they’re not but at the same time it’s hard to imagine that their flagship set sitting in stores won’t have AT LEAST Mickey and Minnie in it. If we knew the rest of the planned sets, it’d probably become much clearer who will fill out the other slots. I have to say, I’m still holding out hope that there’s more than 12

The stepmother, stepsisters and fairy godmother would take the remaining 4 slots so it could work, but something tells me we won’t get that much of Cinderella even though it makes perfect sense here.

Normally I would think the same thing but after that many 4+ sets, mickey and minnie in the train set and another mickey in the CMF, I don’t see this set being an exception too far-fetched. Or perhaps I just really don’t want them to be there haha.

There were several posts a week or two back saying that the person who saw the castle set do not remember seeing any Mickey and friends figure included.

There's another set 43230 which is about US$100 - perhaps that will contain something substantial, and will have the usual cast in their 100th anniversary costume?

He says he didn't remember there being any characters like Mickey or Minnie. Just that there were a lot of princes and princesses but he only remembered Cinderella and Prince Charming/Henry.

So... there's a chance there's more than 12??? LOL

I wonder if they would ever do a set kind of like 80108, with 6 vignettes of Disney moments and minifigures. Would be an easy way to get figs and moments that wouldn't necessarily sell as solo sets.

Merida on Angus with the wisps/ Ariel and Eric in Kiss the Girl/ Arthur pulling the sword in the stone/ Peter and Wendy flying by Big Ben/ Belle and Beast dancing/ Mary Poppins and Bert in Jolly Holiday

Something along those lines?

I'm sure they would sell really well and look beautiful. This is like what we saw with the potential Maleficent dragon set that was leaked from the survey and if that becomes a set then I can't think why there wouldn't be more.

Yeah, I fully believe they saw an image of the set BUT we know how those images can be. I don’t recall if they ever specified if it was a final box art type image or some early development image.

I also think the branding may play a role in it as well. If it’s branded Disney100 then I think it would give more hope that Mickey and Minnie aren’t included as it’s not intended as a long-term set. If branded like the last castle, my money is on Mickey and Minnie being included. I really just don’t see the flagship Disney parks set not having those 2. My hope is that there is more than 12, which I don’t think is a confirmed # as I’ve only seen “12+“ or “at least 12” mentioned.

Honestly, if it does end up being branded Disney100, I actually think that may be a positive sign that another large Disney parks/attraction set is coming to fill the hole of a more permanent set

I think it's very possible the last figures are Belle, Beast, Mickey and Minnie. I wouldn't get hopes up too high for the last pair, especially when Rapunzel could have her own set and be locked behind it.

wow i completely forgot about that 100th suit mickey that leaked a while ago. id be surprised if he did not end up in the castle

I have thought of this as well.

I was hoping this castle remake is a Disney 100 set, and on the shelves only temporarily, as much as I want all its minifigs.

In the long term, they could (finally) replace it with the Sleeping Beauty Castle, and eventually with Main Street.

LEGO would be foolish to only release the Disney Castle set for a limited time. It’s been one of the best selling LEGO sets of all time.

It would be interesting then if they sell it under the ‘Disney 100’ branding long after other sets have been discontinued.

I really think they should do all the castles eventually. Lol.

Why wouldn't they have Mickey Mouse in the 100th anniversary castle? He's the mascot of the brand.

Because he isn't in Cinderella or any of the princess castle movies. I mean I think the mousey b@stard will still be included but he's hardly essential and will definitely be available elsewhere.

Yeah but he was on the previous one + the princesess don't live all together in the same castle like they're in a sitcom, so it's not like they need a reason to include him.

People aren't seeming to get that the Disney Castle has little to do with Disney's princess movies per se, and everything to do with the theme parks. Where Mickey Mouse is 100% likely to turn up, wearing a tuxedo like his minifig from the other set.

I've got my Up house coming tomorrow. So excited! And now I can't wait to find out what the remaining sets are. I would love to see some more Peter Pan, Tangled, Brave sets etc. This theme has stolen my excitement from Harry Potter this year.

tell that to Wreck-it Ralph 2

Anyone else fear that if we were to get Bella and Beast in the D2C castle, it will be Beast's human, prince Adam form? Obviously Beast is much more iconic, but human version would fit thematically (if the theme really is princess and her prince)

I hope Lego and Disney finally realize how much classic Disney tales in minifig form are much much wanted.

After the first two CMFs, we were mostly locked in to getting only minidolls until the Mickey and Friends line started. Even then, it was all just Mickey, et al.

I wouldn't take that movie seriously. Those princesses weren't intended to be the real princesses (which is why they act so exaggerated and OOC) but Internet versions of them.

My UP house is coming soon too, and I've already built a back half for it based on this film accurate design from Rebrickable. Also, I would kill for a 'Spirit of Adventure' zeppelin from UP or Capt. Hook's pirate ship from the original animated Peter Pan film.

I wouldn't be too worried. They can always handle it as they do the minidoll version of Beast and give him the Beast as a helmet with the human head underneath and a different head. Would need to have brown or skin tone hands which would look awkward but :shrug_oh_well:

The feet would be an issue. The beast has his furry feet visible whereas as the prince, he wears brown boots.

I'd prefer he's in his full beast mode. LOL

Maybe the castle will have vignettes inside the 'rooms' with each respective princess/ tale. At least that is what I am hoping for. That way, they don't all have to be in a ball gown dancing with their princes.

If you wouldn't mind, I'm sure some of us would love to see pics of the MOC back half connected to the official set once you receive and build it!
