OttoRiver Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Honestly, a Festival of Fools set would work. The colors, small but cohesive builds, good selection of characters

The 36 minifigs would be way above the limit. Current online limits are 3 of the 6 pack boxes and 16 individual packs. They've never offered the full case. There are third party retailers who will sell complete sealed boxes. I actually ordered one complete set of 18 from one of these third parties. It was about USD89/ set a month or so ago. I am regretting not getting two! One set for a framed display and one for a diorama perhaps. I checked back and they're now selling a complete set for over 100!!! Prizes are crazy on eBay as well. I used to buy regularly from a retailer but he was selling it for 99.99 back when I got the 89 deal. 9 hours ago, Lion King said: Problem: Notre Dam is telf is a religious place. Will Lego sell a set that include a religious site? They did that god of wealth for the CNY set. Moreover, certain people are actively worshipping him. I do understand that Notre Dame is an active place of worship. But they could possibly just feature vignettes from the film and not outright feature the cathedral.

They have done in the past bear me in Boston. Went into a store this evening and they've sorted figured into complete sets, and have a load of individual figures sorted. This very much varies by store though.

Unfortunately I got 3 Tianas and 3 Pinocchios and only one each of Robin Hood and Aurora, but I guess they only do this on release day!

I’m not aware about god of wealth in CNY set? Which set are you talking about? and if i remember correctly, thee was a cathedral or duomo in Archiecture’s Venice skyline set some years ago.
BacktoBricks Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 So when do we think we will get news of the rest of this year's sets? As far as I can tell we still know nothing of: 43223 Disney Animation 6 $19.99 43224 Disney Animation 7 $99.99 43230 Disney Animation 5 $119.99 43231 Disney Animation 11 $49.99 43232 Disney Animation 6 $59.99 I'm hoping for more sets in the style of the UP house. Displayable builds that give us some of the minifigures, princesses and princes that are so glaringly missing from this year's line up.
doclord Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 I bet that $120 is another Icons set, just noticed the price.

I wouldn't mind that if it's a 'Goodies' bookend to the Villains set. A detailed Rapunzel's Tower could maybe also work at that price point, but there's just so much material it's kind of wide open to guesses really.

I'll be devastated if at some point we don't get the Spirit of Adventure zeppelin with Kevin and Charles. (Maybe throw Dug in there too to get more use of the mold.) Sadly, I don't think you could do it justice even at 120 without it being microscale. Also on my radar would be Casey Jr. steam loco from the original animated Dumbo (the live action remake loco is far too creepy, honestly.) Edited May 4, 2023 by Murdoch17

My guess is the $120 is the Heroes Icon set to match the Villains Icons $100 could be a Rapunzel tower. Might be a little less detailed than wanted but for a decent exterior and hopefully Rapunzel, Eugene, and Gothel it would be worth it. $20 is throwing me. Feel like a Sugar Rush racing car with Vanellope and Ralph would work but I doubt they would put it at a low cost point. From how the line has gone so far, feels like they are trying to hit every Lego category with a Disney version so I wonder what exactly it left from the Lego group to cover.

I think I read before that 43223, 43224 and 43231 have an October release date, so they could be sets to promote Wish, with the first one being a minibook. Maybe the others are 1 minidoll and 1 minifigure sets (same pattern as they have done with the new Little Mermaid film). Although maybe the Wish sets come in November to be closer to the release of the film.

Would really like some more nostalgia rides with sets based on old films. 1 hour ago, Murdoch17 said: I'll be devastated if at some point we don't get the Spirit of Adventure zeppelin with Kevin and Charles. Never watched that one that I can remember, but in the same kind of vein mine would be the Atlantis sub. As that movie never seemed to garner the same attention as others I can't see that every happening either. 48 minutes ago, OttoRiver said: From how the line has gone so far, feels like they are trying to hit every Lego category with a Disney version so I wonder what exactly it left from the Lego group to cover. If there was a confirmed full list of minifigs for the castle it would probably make it a little easier for predictions of the standalone sets to account for the obvious missing minifigs. Assuming rapunzel, belle and their princes are in the castle then Merida is one of the more obvious still missing from this year’s line despite having a brickheadz. Some type of small Brave set could work for the $20 set. Just a thought.

Kevin is the bird he's been seeking for over sixty years. You made me add the Ulysses submarine from Atlantis: The Lost Empire to my list. That was my FAVORITE Disney film growing up. Told you my brain wasn't working tonight! Not that I've watched that movie in a long time. Atlantis does feel like a forgotten treasure.
doclord Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 It may be a disservice to their character designs but I would like the Elemental duo as LEGO figs. I hope Lightyear doing poorly in both reception and set sales (I assume, they are always around on shelves) has not kept them from doing new animated movie sets.

Anything else?

Anything else? Interesting thank you (hope the dentist wasn't too bad!). I presume Technic and Speed Champions won't necessarily get any Disney coverage. Buildable figures is kind of the Disney Duo set, but if the leaked concept set art from that survey is to be believed then larger buildable figures is clearly something they are thinking about and could appear this year or next. But I'm not sure they will go into Busts and the new castle D2C is basically the equivalent of the Star Wars UCS. Therefore they seem to have covered most bases and I'm really hoping that what is left is more traditional system scaled stuff. Anybody care to try and work out what coverage we've had from the different Disney animation eras e.g. Golden, Package, Silver, Transition, Bronze, Renaissance, Post-Renaissance, Revival, Streaming.
OttoRiver Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Strictly looking at Minifigure characters I did my best but probably missed some. Note: Counting the Objects/animal sidekicks we have gotten from the minidoll line just because I doubt we will get anything better than that for a minifigure anyways and tried to go back as far as I could. Classic: 13 (Mickey & Friends, Ducktales, Oswald) Golden: 8 (Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia) Silver: 14 (Cinderella, Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, 101 Dalmatians) Bronze: 7 (Robin Hood, Winnie the Pooh) Renaissance: 23 (Aladdin, Hercules, Mulan, Pocahontas, Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Experimental(Post-Renaissance): 2 (Lilo & Stitch....and I counted both Stitch's) Revival: 12 (Princess and the Frog, Frozen, Moana, Big Hero 6)
BacktoBricks Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Golden Age - CMF - Pinocchio, Fantasia, Snow White Sets - Villains Icons (Snow White) Package - Silver - CMF - Queen Of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland), Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) Sets - Celebration Train (Peter Pan), minidoll book (new movie), Brickheadz (Maleficent, Tinkerbell), Villains Icons (Sleeping Beauty, Alice In Wonderland) Transition - CMF - Cruella (101 Dalmations) Sets - Brickheadz (Cruella) Bronze - CMF - Robin Hood Renaissance - CMF - Pocahontas, Mulan Sets - Disney Duos (Beauty and the Beast, Pocahontas), Micro Agrabah (Alladin), Villains Icons (Little Mermaid, Alladin), Royal Clamshell (Little Mermaid - new movie) Post-Renaissance - CMF - Stitch Revival - CMF - Tiana, Dr Facilier (Princess and the Frog), Baymax (Big Hero 6) Sets - Celebration Train (Moana), Disney Duos (Moana), Brickheadz (Moana) So apart from the package era which didn't really produce much of note, the CMF has covered most eras of animation, but there are very little true sets. Pixar has got the one system set, whilst the Villains Icons, Celebration Train and Castle D2C are being used to provide sets that give a wiser coverage without really tying to anything specific. That being said I wonder if we are being too optimistic hoping for more system sets like the UP house?
Gorilla94 Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 (edited) I love how well they printed the evil queen's face. I would have never expected this level of quality in printing after the disgusting Mercy from the Overwatch sets a while ago, which was so bad, that there are custom printed heads available to replace it. Robin Hood and King John rock so hard. Oh, boy, what i would give for Sir Hiss, Maid Marian and Little John...^^' Edited May 4, 2023 by Gorilla94
BacktoBricks Posted May 4, 2023 Posted May 4, 2023 Thanks @OttoRiver :) Clearly the Renaissance is winning in minifigure terms which isnl' suprising really considering it is called that precisley because if was a good era for the company. I've tried to use your list to put together what this year alone has given us. Obviously there is a wider range on shelves with the Winnie the Pooh set and others etc, but tried to see what this 100 year celebration has given us so far.
