Funny how we were just talking about Dumbo and Bambi as animal molds.

Bambi looks fine but Dumbo is very cartoony and barely looks like a Lego figure.

I don't think I'll be picking up this set.

Looks like Lego proved me right with Dumbo and Bambi!

Love the camera build, tho, it looks stunning

wow that camera went from just a maybe to a day one buy! mostly for those bambi and dumbo figs, but also the camera is just such a nice build!!!

this is quite a leap, but the new mold for dumbo and bambi give me some hope at a lion king set whith at least a new pumbaa mold, then a statuette timon, minifig rafiki (new head mold), then reusing the lions. i could even see the lions reusing the body mold then having new heads as i am pretty sure those r separate made pieces that just cannot be separated by consumers.

Bambi and Dumbo were a welcome surprise but I do wish Dumbo was in a more active pose. Would have been nice to pose him "flying".

As for the camera, I love it but is the film reel stills from the movies or Legofied stills from the movies?

I get why Mickey and Minnie were included but they just seem like watered down versions of their previous figures in the CMF series 2 or the Steamboat Willie set. This was a missed opportunity to include a B&W Oswald.

And I agree that a sitting Dumbo is a little too limiting especially since his most famous role is flying. It would have been nice if they had done something with his ears too so you could flap them up and down.

This set sounded really confusing from the rumoured description but it's actually very pretty. I don't love the idea of having popular characters exclusively in pretty pricey sets but it's so nice to get some more of the classics. Beautiful set imo, will end up getting it at some point later in the year.

Oh, wow, I did not have Dumbo or Bambi on my bingo card for characters that would be made this year! And they both look great! I can only imagine what the price to get them on the aftermarket will be though - I don't really want or need the camera, as well-designed as it is.

Looking at the camera reel, I think the scenes are (in reverse chronological order):

-2021: Encanto (Mirabel and Alma)

-2013: Frozen (Coronation Elsa/Let it Go)

-2009: The Princess and the Frog (Tiana on the balcony)

-1998: Mulan (Mulan and Mushu)

-1994: The Lion King (Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa on the bridge)

-1991: Beauty and the Beast

-1989: The Little Mermaid (Same image as in Villain Icons)

-1977: The Rescuers (on their leaf boat)

-1973: Robin Hood

-1967: The Jungle Book (Baloo and Mowgli)

-1963: The Sword in the Stone (Arthur pulling the sword)

-1959: Sleeping Beauty (Maleficent)

-1951: Alice in Wonderland

-1950: Cinderella (Cinderella and Fairy Godmother)

-1942: Bambi

-1941: Dumbo

-1940: Fantasia (Sorcerer Mickey) or Pinocchio

-1937: Snow White and the Seven Dwarves?

-1928: Steamboat Willie

If any of those are teases for future characters, we still have some whopper sets in the pipeline!

Added in ones I couldn't figure out and the timeline. Thanks @OttoRiver and @karrit!

Yes, yes, yes!

Perhaps they could have used the existing baby elephant body and just made a new head? This one looks a bit non- Lego.

Has the Hunchback of Notre Dame been even referenced at all by TLG?

I think its only of the few animated movies that hasnt apperead anywhere. Not even in this camera reel

HoND is kind of in the Pocahontas realm of slightly problematic. Add that to the fact that it's one of the more unpopular movies, arguable less so than even Atlantis (which has doorables now!) and it's not surprising it gets overlooked

There are actually two cameras in the Walt Disney set. The big one, and the multi-plane one behind Walt, used for getting zoom-in / out shots on animated films. Ub Iwerks invented that device, I believe, and it's nice to see it represented.

I'm not one for the buildable objects like the Typewriter, Piano, Guitar and such but this set is pretty impressive.  Can't wait to see what all is depicted on that film reel.  This one definitely goes on the wishlist way ahead of the Villians Icons and maybe even the Castle.

Looking at the camera reel, I think the scenes are:

-Snow White? hard to tell

-Coronation Elsa? That's probably wrong, but it's all I've got. Edit: Briar Rose?

-Tiana

-Mulan and Mushu

-Timon, Pumbaa, and Simba walking on the bridge

-Belle and the Beast (quit teasing me, Lego!)

-Ariel on the rock (looks like the same image as in the Villain Icons set)

-The Rescuers

-Robin Hood

-Baloo and Mowgli

-Arthur pulling the Sword from the Stone

-Dragon Maleficent

-Alice in Wonderland

-Cinderella and Fairy Godmother

-???

-???

-Dumbo

-???

-Maybe Steamboat Willie?

Looks like Bambi below Cinderella.  The red one toward the bottom I think might be Bandleader Mickey from the Band Concert or if not him then maybe Sorcerer Mickey.  Actually the more I look at that one it could be either Hercules or Kronk.

Struggling to place the two ladies(?) at the very top of the film strip on a few of the images. The rest of your list looks accurate based on the ones we can see

Agree, almost certain it’s Bambi below Cinderella. Leaning towards sorcerer Mickey but could also see it being band concert mickey. And I think it’s Pinocchio below the Sorcerer/Band Concert mickey film cell

Given that the films are going backwards in release order, I think its Mirabel and Abuella at the very top with Elsa is Let it Go beneath them.

The very bottom red looks like Sorcerer Mickey commanding the stars and Pinocchio beneath him which would put Snow White as the very last on the strip. Given Dumbo and Bambi are in the set, I imagine the 2 between Cinderella and Fantasia would be them.

Ahhh! Yes, that makes perfect sense. Release order didn’t even cross my mind.

Still can’t place the image in the smaller camera, the house/road scene looks so familiar but can’t figure it out

So many new Lego figures this year! My bank account is crying 😂. Bambi and Dumbo look cute.

Since we know already the sets for September, I imagine there won't be any new sets in August. A spare month to try to save some money 💰

Old Mill was the first film to use the camera but that image looks like I've seen it somewhere.  Not sure if that's what you see in the one on display @ Hollywood Studios in Disney World.  Maybe Sleepy Hollow?

Ooh, smart! I wasn't sure what the order was. I was also thinking that everything on the reel was only from the 2D movies, but Frozen and Encanto make sense for those top two. I'll go back and edit it with the years in case anyone would want to see it.

The only thing that came to my mind was the stock image when you take an eye exam and get air blown into your eye. I'm at a loss as well...

The picture of the house is from Disney's video introducing the Multiplanar camera.

That's 100% it!
