Breaking out the discussion on AI generated concept art from the main Kaliphlin thread.

Reserving first post for highlights.

Feedback and requests for other renders are very welcome!
I'd be happy also to work on some other guilds's if someone wants some copyright-free concept art for those environments too :classic:

Some ideas for Rakath Mountain settings.

Settlements in a valley (maybe too small to be Qarkyr however):

Jonas_W_jagged_mountainous_landscape_wit

Trying to ask the AI for a bit more Eastern Asian influence (not sure if it made so much difference however?)

Jonas_W_jagged_mountainous_landscape_wit

Some upscaled versions and trying to make the city larger (Qarkyr...?) but lost a bit too much of the jaggedness of the mountains:
Jonas_W_jagged_mountainous_landscape_wit

Probably my favorite so far, except for the too smooth mountains:

More to come!

Any favorites...? Feedback is welcome!

Breaking this out into its own thread is a good idea.  This is my favorite (one in town).

You asked for suggestions, so here is mine: I'd like something for the Wither Woods area.  I'm most interested in these two aspects:

1. Buildings: I've been trying to (or would like to) have a combination of the architecture styles of Kaliphlin and Avalonia
2. Setting: Using the description of the south-of-wither-woods area ("meager forests and farmlands of Kaliphlin" - though they've had better-than-average growing seasons lately)

I'm not sure how much work it is, but if it is easy, having both farm and village images would be great.

The one existing image on the main Kaliphlin thread has be the basis of my inspiration so far, so expending upon that would be helpful for me.

Another suggestion would be more in-town shots of Kaliphlin towns/cities - though you do have two in the Kaliphlin thread.  However, your MOCs, @Gideon, already give plenty of inspiration!

Some ideas generated by various prompts around these styles, anyone approaching the vision...?

Thank you so much, @Gideon!  Those in the '2 Setting' section are especially great and I will certainly be using them!  They've also given me ideas of real-world locations I could search for inspiration.

The ones in the '1 Buildings' section don't seem to be hitting the mark (though I'm not sure if there is a mark to be hit).  The bottommost left image is the one I like most of these.

Lots of fantastic inspiration here, thanks Gideon!

Here are a few suggestions for prompts:

Mediterranean vineyard with villa and outbuildings in gentle rolling landscape

Underground goblin village with crystal mine and waterfalls

Rice terraces in foggy wetlands with medieval village

Underground Forest Elven Halls with twisting trees and bridges (similar to my Kolgari Throne Room):

That was a tricky prompt, not trivial to get the weights right. And definetely no goblins in sight...hmm.

But here we got some goblins! (maybe a bit too steampunky however...?)

Mostly generates Asian style buildings (despite me even specifying "European style roofs" or similar), but I suppose the way to go is to find the favorite composition and iterate on the best looking houses until reaching a suitable style.

Including the image in the prompt (and trying my best to find additional input that removed as much as possible of the plastic look) generated something like this:
(Tricky to get the bridges however, probably doesn't recognize the bridge in the photo as a bridge...?)

Possibly... it certainly hits my other request for in-city views.  All these are bigger/more dense/more grand than I was imagining though.  But I think the architecture style might be closer to what I might want (again, not knowing what I want is what prompted me to ask in the first place).  Another unexpected feature of most images is all the potted plants (one I still don't imagine for this part of Historica).  All the ornate wood is interesting and something I hadn't considered, but this may be a bit more grand than I want too.

If you want to keep trying: use similar prompts but ask a smaller village feel.  Certainly smaller buildings and more dirt or loosely paved roads.  But I understand if you don't want to spend more time.  I appreciate everything you've put forth!

It seems to be a bit tricky to force it to render a smaller scale of the town, but here are a few attempts (where I've also specifically asked for dirt road).

Ornate wood is probably caused by me specifinging "intricate", which seems to have generated good results for other Kaliphlin renders. But for a smaller scale/less opulent architecture maybe that is a bit off the mark.

Thanks a lot, there's some fabulous inspiration here! Was curious how it would do with some of those prompts, particularly the goblin mine, as that was definitely a complex one. Still pretty happy with the results though

Here's a few more ideas to try:

Medieval village in autumn forest with stream and bridge

Tree top elven kingdom with birch trees and waterfalls

Foggy ocean shore with sharp cliffs and medieval lighthouse on top

Haha, whoops, should have stuck those in the Avalonia thread... :look::blush:

A few more that are Kaliphlin-themed, if you want to try them - really appreciate you doing all these!

Medieval Arabian city gate with bazaar

Medieval Arabian Vaulted Map Room
Medieval Arabian Vaulted Throne Room
Massive Medieval Arabian Great Hall
Medieval Middle Eastern Cathedral Interior

Those last 4 are different variations trying to get a grand interior, similar to something like these builds:

Rural medieval village by a forest with a dried up stream

Misty ocean along a desert shoreline at daybreak

Those are great!  Thank you so much.  I think 'Turkish Medieval' is close to the style I was wanting, but could not describe.  If you have time, would you run these through?

These are all looking so good!  Really making me want to build for Kaliphlin again :pir-grin:  How about

catacombs/underground water vaults (I mean like this, not sure what to call it.  I guess this is not something we've done in Kali so far, but it fits with the Byzantine aesthetic)

medieval merchant caravan at an oasis

medieval shepherds in tents

bandits attacking a medieval merchant caravan through a mountain pass

Then there is also the swampy area at the bottom of Kali, maybe

castle in a swamp

medieval fishermen in a swamp land

Oh yes!  I'm loving the caravans, gonna have to build a wagon like that sometime.  Houses on stilts are so great too.  The castle in the swamp is definitely more ornate than I would have expect, but that kind of fits the Kali vibe.  Thanks so much!  One day I will build some of these

I think I liked the last fortress picture of a more Egyptian style fortress the best, it fits best with my thinking of the south Kali architecture.

Maybe I should be a bit careful with the “high detail” and “intricate” in the prompts 🙃

The AI also seems to tend to interpret “castle” more like “château” than fortress.

But the Midjourney pictures in general (except for the swamp château) is definitely inspiring me to build a bit more ornate Kali builds, rather than the nougat brick and tan rough-hewn stone style I tend to end up in.
