Oh wow, that's very tasty information.  Exactly what I needed to start off my long weekend :D

$300 CAD price point, that's pretty much what I expected it to be.  Always wished it to be cheaper, but I'm happy it's not super-inflated price because of the goat.

Based on the leaks, it looks like it could be 5 buildings.

One is a small standalone house, and then two sets of buildings that look like they could be hinged and collapsable back-to-back, making them like large housing blocks.  I figure they are facade/dollhouse style.

And I'm still super curious if this actually connects to the extra clip in the Lion Knight's Castle.

Brickclicker went over a TLG confidentiality report recently where they talked about leaks in 2023.  They addressed the Feb survey leak as the 'elephant in the room'

"For leak this drastic, many security points went wrong, but the individual source was identified!"

So it sounds like they never planned on this actually happening, and based on their reactions (taking down any and all leak images online) it doesn't really sound like they were using very loose mock-ups.  And as far as we know, the survey was targetted around figuring price points for the sets, rather than the actual interest and marketability for it.  It sounded like these were all planned to be released at some point, and TLG just wanted to figure out what price points people would be expecting them, probably especially after the inflation/markup that we had last August.

Well, but it was their survey, with their pics, right? Well, ok might be they just handed them out so the ones making the survey could describt them or whatever. But anyways we will see how much they look alike when the first pictures show up.

You got a link? I´m kinda failing to find it.

Where? I do not see this on there site.

BTW, the prelim shows five buildings (L-R: Tudor style single-story with a brown roof, stone two-story with red roof and a chimney, two-story tan/dark tan lower floor and sand green upper floor with thatched roof (prominent chimney winding up the side), “Guarded Inn 2.0” castle wall segment (first floor) with red and black house (second floor) and a three-story guard tower, three-story with brown first floor and olive green upper floors (right half of the building is only two stories, while the left is three) and dark orange thatched roof).
Twelve Minifigs are visible, with two being knights and one having a Forestmen’s cap.

Source: I have the pic saved to my phone.

Animals (in the prelim): 1 horse, 1 cow, 1 calf, 1 cat, 2 sheep, 2 goats, at least 1 chicken, 2 squirrels, 3 birds, and 3 owls (wings spread). I am also assuming that there is a frog somewhere, but I cannot see it.

I mean I agree it's healthy to be skeptical.  I just don't think the leak is going to be deviated from very much, considering how much is packed into it.  It falls in line with a lot of things that one would expect from a 'Medieval Market Village' remake.

It's got the basic structure down - Two large buildings, a standalone tree, a bunch of civilians, a bunch of animals, some small market stalls, and some patrolling knights.  But then it also has a lot of tie ins to the LKC, like the tower and flag colors, or the fact that one of the buildings resembles a completely revamped Guarded Inn, which was also part of the Classic Castle line.  And it also contains elements that we're seeing now released in 2023, like the new fern piece that is now used in the Rivendell set.

I'll just say I don't see the point of going into that much detail into mocking up a set, down to including new pieces that hadn't been seen before like the Fern piece, for a survey that is meant to gauge what people would pay for a set like that.  I could see there being differences in being a preliminary design, but I can't see it being at an early prototype/mockup stage, if they're using pics for the purpose of surveying price points.  Like, I would imagine the leaked survey was being handled by their Marketting team for sets that are pretty much locked down and approved, practically ready for sale.  If the picture doesn't look like the final product, then the price point data is going to be very skewed.

Well I get your point. And I am not saying it can´t be similar to that one. But we just don´t know. As for the details. I didn´t mean that the set was made for the survey. It was for sure made for this set. If it is just one version of it, or the more or less finished one with just some minor changes happening towards the final one, no idea. I still kinda hope it´s not. But I will judge about that when we have pics from the set.

This is great news.  I really liked the leaked design as I don't have MMV but I do have the village raid set.  I can't wait to see pics.  I would love to see some different villager torsos.  Like some have said I hope to see a different knight faction but I don't think we will.  I hope there will be a lot of animals like the leaked version showed.  Man it's been great being a castle fan the past few years with the 3in1, Blacksmith, LKC, Rivendell, the new vikings set, the forestmen GWP.  Keep it coming Lego that's all I got to say.

I can't find any particular link on Promobricks itself, but the r/legoleak subreddit is quoting maxbaut/MaxBautDE, who apparently in on the Promobricks team - so, hopefully it is reputable.

10332 Medieval Town Square - 3304 Pieces - 229.99 Euros

"Old farmhouse, cheese factory, Broken Axes Inn, shieldsmith's workshop and the watchtower. Various minifigures including crook, carpenter, tax collector, tapestry weaver, shieldsmith tower guard and other + animals"

Looking back at the originals leaked images, I'm wondering which buildings belong where... The old farmhouse might be the green building in the middle, next to the pine tree? And the cheese factory might be the stone building next to it, with the red roof? It does look like there is a cheese-selling stand in the middle of the image. And I'm guessing that the watchtower and workshop and the two buildings on the right. That still leaves one unknown building - the small white building on the left (unless it got cut or one of the buildings are combined). The cast of minifigures sounds like it should be pretty interesting and cover medieval archetypes we haven't seen yet, as opposed to just another all-encompassing generic blacksmith, so that makes me happy! And the lower Euro price has me hopeful that the USD price will be closer to $250. Only time will tell!

Here’s a description that popped up that sounds very new and exciting as far as Lego castle civilian subjects:

- old farmhouse

- cheese maker

- Broken Axes Inn

- shieldsmith’s workshop

- watchtower

minifigs include:

- crook (is that a typo of cook or is that a term for a shepherd?)

- carpenter

- tax collector

- tapestry weaver

- agieldsmith tower guard

$230-$250 is great, especially given the sheer number of Minifigs and animals that could have jacked the price up!

I would guess that the Broken Axes Inn is the red building adjacent to the watchtower, since that structure is a clear homage to the classic Guarded Inn. The old farmhouse is probably the third structure from the left (tan/dark tan first floor, sand green second floor, thatched roof, winding chimney), since it has a very rustic and built-over-time look to it (also, there seems to be a pen with a goat beside the tree).
The other two are more difficult to determine, but given the cheese stall in the centre of the square and the cheese press towards the right, I am assuming that the olive green building on the far right is the cheese factory; the stone building with red roof (second from the left) could be the shieldsmith’s workshop.

The “crook” may be the guy on the horse, since they are wearing a Forestmen’s cap.

I think the price is great for me too.

I like shieldsmith’s workshop.  Perfect excuse to throw in some more of the shields left out in the castle.  Also hoping for a new color for the forest torso and a double axe too.  Don’t know if they do all that but pretty confident we’ll get new (remake) faction torsos and shields.  Hopefully we’ll get a nice hint with the Majisto GWP.  Any new torso or shield in that set will almost certainly be in the new set.  Kind of suspect we’ll at least get a black knight shield with that one if not a black knight.

Where do you see the second goat and chicken? I see a cat standing with the goat, but assumed that could be a stand in for a goat kid

Makes it more likely the soldiers from guarded inn is coming in the set I would say :classic:

That is one of the most important aspects of the set and they group them and include zero information :distressed:

Well, since the leak states it looks quite similar to the survey pic, I still hope the colouring will be different from it. I´m really not a fan of the green they used for two of the builinds there. Would rather like to see tan or something.

However the other details we got sound great. I hope the Shieldsmith will have some nice printed shields and many great citizen/trader-prints. The price also sounds good. Obviously there will be many little  pieces for the roofs and buildings in general. But if there are going to be many animals and I hope also many minifigures ( I would hope for ten or more) the price still seems suprisingly good to me.

I was looking at the picture from the survey again this morning after the additional news.  I don't recall seeing this mentioned before, but the more left of the two sheep looks different.  The face is white and it looks like it has horns.  Things can change for sure from the survey, but maybe we're getting a ram as well?

If they're referring to the inn as The Broken Axes Inn, I wouldn't be surprised to see Crusader Axe torsos for the knights (especially since we have the shield already).  If it's an extension of the castle, it would make sense, since they would potentially be different rank/type of soldiers.

I would love to see some new Black Knights at some point (would be cool to see them make a Black Knight logo shield torso), but it's sounding unlikely in this set.  It would be cool if the crook is an updated Wolfpack figure.  It fits the "crook" persona more than a Forestman in my opinion if it's thought of as a malicious person.  Hope the jester makes the cut as well to the final set.

I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic about the price for now. Lego seems to be pricing larger in-house sets at a really good PPP:

  • Viking Village is $130 with 2103 pieces.
  • Alpine Lodge is $100 with 1517 pieces.
  • The newly-leaked Natural History Museum is 299.99 (so, probably about that in USD) with 4014 pieces.

Sure, it's not a perfect comparison - animals do usually carry a premium in Lego sets, and the goat probably has new mold costs with it - but, hopefully it's a sign that Lego is going to set the in-house, AFOL-centric sets at a good PPP. Maybe the price hikes they implemented last year didn't work out they way they had hoped?

Thanks! I only checked the most recent one (since it talked about Medieval Town Square) - I'll have to check it out!

One of the post I saw on Instagram said that there were more castle sets to come is there any evidence of that yet or is that just speculation? I presume more castle sets they would relaunch the theme rather than keep it with the icons?

Who posted that? It is probably a safe guess, but we do not currently know of any upcoming Castle sets aside from this and the Majisto GWP.

I would expect at least one Castle GWP for next year, so more sets don´t seem unrealistic to me, although I don´t think they will make two bigger ones, but who knows. And we also have the Summer spot free, where all the other retro sets launched and I would assume we will get a new Set there again too - likely a Pirate one, as we get Space and Castle early in the year already.
