I completely agree with you. Next to the already known retro sets for next year, I can imagine a re-design of the Caribbean Clipper, plus a Castle GWP. And maybe there could even be a buildable knight minifigure in the Creator 3 in 1 theme then?

It got mentioned within a German leak discussion telegram group by the person who runs brickmerge that he heard that more sets will come but he doesn't have any info besides this.

We have gotten a lot of information from Brickmerge listing, so I would consider this to be a reliable source. 👍

Did he mention Castle specificly or just retro Sets as whole? And well, coming as in coming next year, or just beeing worked on?

Castle specificly. And no other Info regarding specific sets or release dates...

So i would consider it as a rumor which is likely to become true. But of course lego could cancel the idea...

Was a specific number of sets given, or just “more Castle is coming. . .”? They could be referring to the Majisto GWP or a 2024 GWP tie-in for the Medieval village.

No specific number. But he was talking about new castle sets in the future which are unknown at the moment. So definitely other sets than majisto an the village. 

And he explicitly mentioned he didn't hear of any goats being in any upcoming set (including the upcoming village).

That means there could be goats but there is no reliable info yet whether or not there will be goats.

With Majisto already revealed quite a while ago, that shouldn´t be what he was referring to. But if we are getting 2 Classic Sets early this year, I could see them making two sets for the August spot too. So we could get a pirate one, as we don´t have that one announced yet for next year but also a second castle one. I kinda would expect it to be a more little one then though, like 6075 Wolfpack Tower. And as GWP they could add 6038 Wolfpack Renegades. If that would be coming would be really awesome.

I feel like Forestmen are more likely for a regular set, while the Wolfpack get a GWP and cameo in either the village or a Forestmen set.

Both Forestmen and Wolfpack do seem quite likely to me. I mean both are very iconic and people would love to have them. So I would bet we get both with time, as long as those sets sell good they will make more of them IMO.

No information about the goat doesn´t mean there won´t be one in it. We will just have to wait for more information, that names the pets included.

Personally, I'd love a Forestmen set, with many happy memories of them. It's not only that the play features are generally such fun in them, but there's lots of scope for funky builds with lots of trees and landscaping in them. Although they could likely do similar stuff with a Wolfpack set. Either would be preferable to a Black Falcons castle though. That can come in 2025!

I'd like some more Forestmen sets as well, if not just for some alternative torsos like they used to have.  That's what made them extra special back in the day.

I can definitely see them do Wolfpack Tower remake.  Heck, I can see them going out of their way to bringing back some iconic Black Knights castles too.

I would love to see a new interpretation of the Black Knights castle, which is my favourite one of all the old castles. Though, I wouldn´t expect them doing a new castle with a new faction so soon after the last one. Especially when we are getting an other big castle set this year already. But, well If they do it in a few years it would still be great. And anyways those sets are not that cheap, so I am kinda happy if they don´t introduce to many at once lol

I want a new Black Knights Castle also. I've always wanted one but I've never pulled the trigger on it because it's so expensive now for the size it is. It would really have to include the original plumes. The ghost wouldn't be as much of a hard requirement, but it would definitely be a nice to have.

I've always loved how the black knights had the printed breastplate underneath the larger one. It confused me when I was a kid, but that's one of my favorite torsos. I'd love to see that one brought back. The Viking one is somewhat similar, so I bought a couple dozen of those.

I imagine they'll stagger Castle every two years, so there's plenty of time to space between.  One year for Castle, one year for other.  So far that's what we're seeing, and I think they will stick with big sets because they can count on the AFOL sales.

I think so too.  Next year we also are getting a small Creator dragon and the large GWP/set for D&D that is castle-like.  The winning D&D idea has a stone castle with dungeon and witches' tower and a medieval building serving as a tavern.  That will probably need to be released and retired before we get a real castle from the Castle theme.

I hope Lego stick to updating classic factions (pre-KK1) and don't create new ones for a while. It looks likely that Dragon Knights will be in the GWP, which would be the fourth classic design to be updated if so. 

Wolfpack and Dark Forest would be my personal picks for the next factions to make a comeback, because they (as well as the returned Forestmen) have the most different looking base compared to the Lion Knight's castle. You could just change the banners and shields for that to make it a castle for the Black Falcons or any of the 2000 onwards factions.

Fantastic to get confirmation that this set is coming. Given its civilian-focus, I'm hoping it inlcudes a diverse mix of new/unique minifigure prints. If the level of detail matchs the recent Viking Village then we will be in for a treat.

The rumoured professions of the figs already mentioned are delightfully specific: tax collector, guard, cheesemaker, jester, tapestry weaver, carpenter, crook (thief/rogue), sheildsmith. This makes me hopeful that Lego will give most figures distinct torso prints, rather than just spamming a bunch of generic peasant outfits. Given the presence of an inn and a farmhouse, can we perhaps expect the inclusion of a farmer and an innkeeper too?

On the question of which military factions will be included, the Lion Knights and Forestmen seem most likely to me. The specific mention of the 'Broken Axes' Inn makes me hopeful that we get a new Crossed Axes torso varient for the Lion Knights. The sheildsmith opens up the possibility that the shields/heraldry of other factions could be included in the set as easter eggs, even if they are not present as figures (similar to the Lion Knights Castle 10305).

I'm very curious about the likely design and layout of the buildings. The Prelim image somewhat reminds me the Harry Potter Diagon Ally set (i.e dolls-house style shop fronts on seperate baseplates that you can display in a row).

Well, what is a big set? I think they will make different sizes. If we are really seeing an other castle set this year I would expect it to be a medium sized one. I could see them doing a 6075 Wolfpack Tower, 6077 Forestmen's River Fortress or 6071 Forestmen's Crossing, although a Forestmen seems more likely now, as they don´t need to make a new faction for that now. They clould make those sets as 50-80€ Sets if they want (ofc they also could make them bigger). And I think it wouldn´t be bad to get some lower prized sets like that for people that still would love to get those retro sets but just can´t afford them. However I think little sets will all be gwps.

Since the Tavern looks like a reimagination of the 6067 Guarded Inn we could get an new version of the maiden included in that one.

Yeah, I’m excited at the prospect of the shields smith. Reissuing old shields sounds good, though they seem to have that pretty well covered these days. I would also love to see a selection of new shields.

I consider anything over $200 US to be a big set.  I could see them revamping any of the ones you mentioned into a larger set, like they did with Eldorado Fortress.

Yeah, I kinda thought about them starting at 100€ but then I wasn´t sure wheter that isn´t that big today anymore. On the other side, I would still count sets like the Viking Village and the Galaxy Explorer towards the "big" ones. Maybe Small, Medium and Big just don´t do it anymore ;).

Yeah, they could make it in the range I mentioned but also build it bigger if they want. Kinda both things would work. But I still kinda feel like we are going to see a Castle set for less than 100€ this year.
