I'd say my only suspicion they are doing a new body print is because they didn't reuse the Lion Knight or Black Falcon for the leak when they already have the torsos for them available.  They went with using Viking torsos for them instead, which really questions what they're planning for the guards if not just a 1:1 Lion Knight or Black Falcon.

I am actually still wondering why it is always said, there would be Viking torsos. You don´t really see much and the quality is just to bad that I would say it is one of those. Anyways I still would think it will be a Lion Knight.

I'm pointing out the guards in the leak aren't using Lion Knights or Black Falcons (even as a placeholder).  If Lion Knights are intended there as a guards, I would imagine they just use Lion Knights since they already have the pieces.  In the leak, the guards don't have red torsos or blue/black torsos.  They look like they are wearing silver helmets and dark greenish or grey or brown clothing.  Someone pointed out they are wearing Viking torso, which is what I default to calling it (it's hard to tell since the image is so blurry and watermarked).

They are already using Blue Minstrel Torso for jester and other pieces that are already available, so no reason why they wouldn't reuse Lion Knights or Black Falcon if they wanted to.  Since the guards are shown using a completely non-Lion knight/Black Falcon torso, it doesn't seem to indicate they will be there at all.  This is why I think a new torso print is possible.

And I just call it Viking torso because that's what someone mentioned it being.  Why a Viking is being used (as placeholder) for the guards at all, I'm not sure.  And I have my doubts any Viking torso would be final for the guard.

The knight in the middle of the square (back and to the left of the goat) is using this Viking torso - The silver round shoulder bits and brown crossbelt are visible. Source: I have the photo saved on my phone.

On all the discussions of the knights' colors in the leak image, is it possible that color changes in the surveys are a way to trace leakers?  For example if the leaked image has these colors in the minifigure or accessories, Lego would know it came from this batch of survey participants.  Lego insiders have said Lego identified the leaker, so they may be using sophisticated techniques to identify and to quell leaks.

The leak image could also have different colors or torsos than final to test market variations as well as to test the market on price.  If a blue and gray version of the set received overall higher prices, maybe they sell it instead of the green and red set that happened to be in the survey that leaked.

Just thinking about how much to infer from the image because the survey leak was such an anomaly.  It's still fun to speculate and zoom in on the pixels!

Well they did find the source of the leak, but I doubt they were playing 4D chess.  It sounds like it was a lot of oversight and reaction.  If they did it right, it shouldn't have been leaked in the first place

Some good conversation/speculation going on in here.

I personally love the idea of the crusader axe torso making a comeback. I was 9yo when 6080 came out, and for me, the two torsos are inseparable from the faction.

That said, I think I’d be ok with whatever faction/print they use. Of course something we haven’t already seen in the last few years would be preferred.

I was hoping for a secondary archer Lion print like the Falconer CMF, but I like the crusader axe idea just as much.

I'm still doubled down on cross axes torso for the guards.

I see this set as a complete companion set to the Lion Knights Castle.  The tower is styled very similarly to the LKC, and they even fly the yellow and red flag banners, but without reusing the Lion Knights torso for the guards.  This set also has some nods to Guarded Inn and Blacksmith Shop.  Both of the those sets had Cross Axes guards, and the Inn is also named 'Broken Axes Inn' which might be another connecting hint.  Cross Axes are also very closely associated to the Lion Knights, so it would make sense as an alternative torso option.

It's always possible they go with something more generic for the guards, or something completely different, but I really think the patterns lean towards a return of the Cross Axe torso.  And if that's true, I hope they also bring in the alternative Forestmen torso if they're bringing back a more classic-updated Majisto torso print.

I agree, my guess is 2 cross axes soldiers and a new shield for them. Then there is most likely is a forestman in the set 50/50 if that is new or not, but I guess new.
Probably no falcons or lions in the set at least not ones we already got, there could be a noble person or e.g. the tax collector with a lion badge or similar.
It really depends how many minifigs they are going for in the set, if there is a lot then I can see them using more figs we got last year as fillers to increase the number.

Yeah I get that argument. We will see what they have planned for it. But them not using Lion Knights in the prelim would also argue against Axe knights actually. I mean in that case they would have just placed Lion Knights aswell - and they use the same colours that Lion Knights use actually.

Even looking at that Picture with that torso in mind I just don´t see it. Possible it is used but also possible it is something different.

The forestmen on the picture had an different colour for sure. Then again, it could also just be a hunter instead. Anyways I am still hoping for at least 10 Minifigures. The more the better.

Reveal is Monday and release is December 1st

There seem to be a lot of early reveals this year and some earlier than normal sales dates *huh* My first thought was that it was because of the huge survey leak, but those sets are not revealed yet. Maybe it is because sales are dropping and they try to increase it by shifting dates etc :shrug_oh_well:

A modular is great, but I am a lot more hyped for this set do you have any more information on when Medieval Town Square hit the shelf's

BricksUp UK lists it as April 1, a surprisingly definite date as other rumors have a broader range of March/April.   April 1 is reasonable.

Months away from reveal images, so unless there's another leak, months more for this forum to speculate on factions!

And time for them to change them too. Maybe. Just.

The goat comes in the CMF so they used the budget there to include it in the set. probably comes with a new color and maybe even a kid in the set is my guess

The bigger shield is also back with basil the batlord, so expect that mould in the set as well

At least the mould budget is saved then. However while I would like to see a baby goat aswell, I kinda think that might be to much for the budged if we expect new shields and are hoping for many new minifigure parts. I would gladly be wrong here though.

IIRC, the piglet and lambs came out a while after their parent versions were available. So not all hope is lost for it. You might just need a little more patience.

The goat in a CMF? Thats fantastic. That will be the hardest CMF to get from that batch, Thanks for the news.

Edit: Just saw the pics. Wow!

The promo picture showed light bluish gray, I think.  Would be pretty neat to get an additional color.

Seems unlikely, but it would be pretty cool.

That mould never left, it's been unprinted in various sets for a long time.

I am not exactly sure how part budgets work, but it seems like painting/recoloring an existing part should cost much less than a whole new mould.  For example, many GWPs include a new torso print, while none of them include a new part.

The barbarian in the CMF compliments this nicely too.

And the gamer champion has an interesting blue torso with a black bird on it. Possibly could be repurposed into something special/different for a Black Falcon figure?

I am pretty sure we will either get an aditional colour, or the cmf one with additional prints - but it is very unlikely to me it will be the same goat

The goat lives! Too bad about the sets being in boxes, it's going to be a lot more difficult and expensive to get multiple of that one...

Still, that should mean that we get goats in the Market. Only a few months before we know for sure!

That is way dark 🥺

I meant that the Lego Community/ AFOLs ("Village") needs to hold a feast in honor of the goat's return... not to make a feast out of him!

You were way too medieval! LOL
