Ooh nice deduction! I went with the Nexo shield as that's also been in sets in transparent fairly recently but I see it now.

I counted 17 stickers on that F40. Only the front and rear badges and some minor black detailing around the headlights seem to be a print. I am especially bothered by the lazy stickers and the sticking out 2x2 tile in the rear side grilles, which could have easily be done with red grille pieces. In the end I just got a used 1/18 Bburago diecast for 17 euros shipped, Lego's value proposition with Speed Champions has never been there.

The overall Cup car design looks good, but I can't get over how small the roof and door numbers are. Fingers crossed for a third-party sticker pack.

I found a speed build + review of the Ferrari F40!

It appeared that the build was more or less predictable. A bad surprise for me was that the rear part (after the wheel arches) is relatively weakly attached to the rest of the car...
This can be easily solved by rearranging the tiles on top of the rear part.

Yes, early reviews confirm that the Ferrari needs some work - filling in the headlights, thinning the spoiler from 2x6 to 1x6, and removing the red printing on the lower side windows. Unfortunately one further flaw that looks less easy to fix is that the figs only fit in the car with one arm raised.

I feel like the heavily customized, run-down nature of vehicles from Mad Max might be a step too far removed from the Speed Champions theme's focus on real-world automobile brands.

What if they did Max's car from the first film? It looks cleaner in the original movie.

Just bought/built the new NASCAR and I LOVE it. One of the best Speed Champions vehicles to date.

Made the above three changes and also replaced the minifig with a more suitable driver. Really happy with the result, though not yet sure if I should also remove the black printing from the side window frame. Update: Switched the headlight covers from trans-black to trans-clear, and added the cheese slopes in front of the spoiler as suggested by Void_S.

Despite it being my favorite car of all time, I'm not interested at all in this set, there's just so many agonizing flaws, from the cockpit, to the spoiler's 1x6 tile not being on absolute top, and the headlights and grille are really bad too. Looks like a Pontiac Fiero kit car.

I built Barneius' F40 from Rebrickable in yellow a while back, and while it's not perfect (heavy use of stickers, interior has a bench seat with no center column or shifter since its cramped) it's many miles more accurate and "F40" than this set.

This isn't strictly Lego news, but I think it's interesting that one of the cars featured in the 2024 Speed Champions lineup just crashed. I hope they can get it put back together again!

I'm starting to get tired of all the criticism of the amount of stickers in Speed Champions sets, Speed Champions have always had stickers, some more than others. So get over it, put on your big boy pants and build, Okay, now "Brick On"

There are leaked images (which I wont link to) showing a Speed Champions F1 car for every F1 team. Supposedly the Red Bull and that other Red Bull thing will be 18+ because of the energy drink logos.
