Deere does make wheel loaders, but they're usually yellow.

I know, I see I was misunderstood. There should be "if Deere would make such color sheme (industry) vehicles". Only agriuculture and forestry equipment are usually green. There was a time when they produced telehandlers (in green)

Ok this is a serious complaint: PLEASE BUILD SLOWER!

We as normal people can't catch up with your speed!

(fantastic B-Model btw.... :D )

I can't build slower ;)

It was based on old Fiat log loader:

I'm always amazed, only 7 days since launch, and already 16% discount on Amazon in the UK.

The true RRP of lego technic is actually about 30% off current RRP, they are just relying on early adopters to pay the inflated price.  I'm not sure this is a good long term strategy.  Surely a regular bricks and mortar retailer must get very upset when Lego allow amazon to reduce the selling price of a set this quickly?

anyway, roll on 33% discount and I'm in!

I just bought the Perseverance rover for 86€ while its price at lego.com/fi is 117€ so I guess that's 25% "discount", although the retailer I buy from always has almost all sets for significantly less than Lego's own webstore. The Deere would be 153€ there and 190€ at lego.com/fi, so about 20% less. At amazon.de the Deere would be couple of euros cheaper but delivery cost would more than negate that.

I guess the brick and mortar stores rely mostly on buyers who don't know or care that the exact same product is available for less elsewhere online. Still, it's going to be tough for them to survive when more and more people compare prices online and order the cheapest one they can find.

Hey i just builded the 42157 its great set but i just noticed on front cover of instructions one hose going to claw isint connected and its totally missing so how did lego messed up the cover art work but if they fix it maybe the old instructions will get some value over the new fixed

It's not that rare to see building mistakes in official product images. There's also a minor error in the instructions on page 25, the direction of either the orange arrow or both the white arrows should be reversed.

Hmm in my manual everything seemed to connect right ...?

For the model, I have kind of mixed feelings:

+ the main function works really well and has great range & power
+ the model is bigger than I expected, even I know the wheel size, really feels massive
+ cool new parts/rare parts or new colors

- routing of the pneumatic hoses was just horrible, especially the blue ones for the air support, all were way to long. I think the worst routing so far in any pneumatic model I built
- the switches are hard to reach when the arm is fully retracted
- the build itself was a bit to straight forward for me, no fance buildings techniques and "whoa this is cool, would have never thought of that solution!"-moments
- some connections seem very wobbly and I don't know why the designer did not used a more sturdy method, for example the connection of the front wheels. Left side is Lego, right side would be a more sturdy solution

To sum it up: The set didn't quite match my expectation (which were very high I must admit) in terms of building fun and stability, but has great new/rare parts. In contrast the 42158 Mars Rover definetely blew me away more.

I'd say left one feels less prone to cracking under increased load (pushing model down during pumping) and thanks to one connector being placed vertically with axle going through it is unlikely to disconnect.

I preffer the third one with the hub opposite and 4 3L with 2 pin holes connectors that gives and extrra point for another connection.

Both are horrible, no where in places when theres some load put on should there ever be these weak cross axle connectors because they always cracks

What if, in the version on the right, you would extend the two 3L axles to 5L and add an xox connector and two 3L bush-pins locking those connectors to the 7x11 frame? Then it would be both sturdy and form-locked. But that would take more room, so I don't know if that would fit.

I don't disagree :)

That would improve connection but doing same thing to the chosen version would improve it even more as well and yet they didn't do it. We can only guess - maybe they wanted to make it "symmetrical" so front and rear axle hubs both being connected by 3L "arms" without bracing. Or additional bracing itself would be too bulky. Or neither of these and they just wanted to use more XOX connectors :p

My first 42157 john deere 948L alternative - Backhoe loader

I use almost every black 2L pin in this set.

Function

L6 engine with cooling fan which drive 4x faster than rear wheel(RWD)

Front wheel steering

Rear hoe turning by yellow knob on top of cabin

Axle 2 and bucket on rear work by 2 mini linear actuators

Direction changeable driver seat

Manual outrigger which can lift back wheel

Openable hood

Both 2 axle of main bucket work using pneumatic

Axle 1 of rear bucket work by pneumatic too

That's a lot of function. Isn't it?

And I usually don't build vehicle like this. This is my FIRST backhoe loader build.

Yeah, stability under force from above could be problematic for my version, but there is a liftarm above to prevent that, I didn't include that in the pic above. And there is plenty of room for any version:

Does this look like a quality expeirience/product to you!?

My hands are killing, and i'm stressed out at these STUPID T junctions.

Now imagine how the designer's hands must feel like, having to build tens of prototypes :sceptic:

Difference is: The designer gets paid for the job, the customer pays for the model :-P

Wait for the connection of the blue support to the long blue tube on the chassis... And try to cramp this in the place without touching the grey 16t gear of the drive shaft ...
