PoBB was built on sandy islands, so I can see LEGO trying to have a consistent design-language between Pirates remake sets. Additionally, I specifically asked about tan (as I was curious about what colour the main part of the Fortress would be), so the set could also include grey bricks for rocks.
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 3, 2023 Governor Posted April 3, 2023 Hey @TalonCard, do you happen to know the name of the pirate minifigure in Eldorado Fortress? At first I thought it was the original version of Starboard from Pirates of Barracuda Bay but the bandana colour is different:
SpaceM Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 (edited) What do you think? Is there any chance they'll replace at least one of the two rowing boats from the original set with a small sized sailing ship? Edited April 3, 2023 by SpaceM

"What colours were in the EF remake, and roughly how many (and what kind of) Minifigs were there?" "Did the Majisto set have any printed torsos or legs/skirt pieces? Any shields?" "Also, did either set have a sticker sheet?" A: "Minifigs in El Dorado were nearly identical to the original, in count / number of pirates vs imperials" "And seemed to be a fairly faithful recreation of the original" "Majisto's skirt was printed, but I believe that's all. It also came with a knight of sorts" "Both sets could've had sticker sheets but I didn't go out of my way looking for them like I did the SWs sheets" Q: "Did you see any large printed flag pieces in the EF?" A: "I don't recall honestly" Q: "Can you describe the knight in the Majisto set? What kind of helmet were they wearing, what did their torso print look like, did they have a shield, etc?" A: "I just remember it was a different looking knight than any of the original majisto sets (there were 2 or 3 I think)?" "And I don't recall which exact faction" Q: "So not a Dragon Knight?" "Did they have a crest on their torso, or just armour print?" A: "I'm not sure" / / / / Q: "Do you remember the Eldorado Fortress colours at all? I am curious as to whether it will still be yellow or a more realistic tan." A: "I want to say it was fairly faithful, i remember there definitely being some amount of tan that seemed to be used for the beach part of the little island" / / / / Q: "Also, just to confirm - Bluecoats, right?" A: "Yep!" Blue confirmed! Now THAT is what we call a journalism Many thanks for your effort, m8, appreciated a lot Eldorado Fortress then, aye? Let the good times roll! Same here! 2009 wave was my introduction to the theme as I've been interested in pirates topic in general for quite some time already & being a 10 year young boy was looking for some great toys to accompany my interest, lol Got the Bounty, Soldier's Fort & Kraken Attackin' back then, wanted the Shipwreck Hideout & Loot Island as well, but first three were kinda the ceiling of affordability, unfortunately After PoTC line, which came out almost immediately next & shifted my focus to 4195, 4194, 4193, 4191 & 4181 instead of completing the rest of Pirates-2009, my dark age kicked in and I didn't look back at collecting LEGO up until the glorious PoBB release — that one was enough to bring the fire back

Given there's only 3 months until the speculated release, the LEGO Group will need to announce something in the near future.
Yperio_Bricks Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 That's some great news I am happy that Eldorado Fortress is the rumored set and will definitely pick up more than one of it turns out to be true. Still, i'll try to tame my emotions until the set is confirmed by more sources/leakers/blogs...

Still, i'll try to tame my emotions until the set is confirmed by more sources/leakers/blogs... The same for me. After the recent release of 21322 and 31109, this is perfect timing for people who want to collect the Pirates theme. Old pieces and figurines are expensive, although they are emblematic of the charm of their release period. I don't think we'll see the return of the raised basplate given current LEGO standards. And in any case I don't know if it's a good thing or not insofar as it leaves more freedom but at the same time it "artificially" inflates the amount of pieces used upwards.
AstroFalcon Posted April 3, 2023 Posted April 3, 2023 Barracuda Bay (21322) is one of my favourite sets of all time and if this is anything like it, this might be the set of the year. My small pirates display is lacking a proper imperial presence (I picked up Bounty Boat (6247) and Forbidden Island (6270) at a car boot sale last November so I have 4 soldiers if you include the bandana feller on the boat) and the addition of a large fort might actually convince me to turn 21322 into a boat for a while to display next to it. On the topic of raised baseplates, I think brick-built landscapes are definitely the better looking option for big display sets, but I wish smaller kits still came with regular baseplates to make them feel bigger. Hoping the next remake is Enchanted Island (6292). There is a used but complete copy in a local charity shop that looks to be in good condition for £100, but I haven't spent anywhere close to that on vintage Lego before and I'm a tad hesitant.

More likely they only give us 1 rowing boat, Lego was more generous with the number of minifigs and big parts pack then. E.g. the 90 year Castle only had 2 horses, if we ever got such a big Castle set in 1989 it would minimum had 6-8 horses 1 hour ago, Mister Phes said: Glad yer happy! I also think that they would not bring back the raised baseplates of the past. Maybe they could do some brickbuild cliffs like they did for the 21335 lighthouse. Although that would eat up a considerable amount of the 2500 pieces.

I checked the first leak again which announced a retail price of 215$. At that price, I doubt there will be any sails in there. But hey, who cares, we're going to get an eldorado fortress Edited April 3, 2023 by SpaceM

This rumoured set has 2,509 pieces while the original Eldorado Fortress only has 496 pieces. So that's around 2,000 more parts! Ok, granted the raised base plate reduced the piece count of the original considerably, bu still... Rock Island Refuge for example, had 378 pieces but still included a sail... 1 hour ago, Roebuck said: Is this leaker anymore trustworthy than the last one?
