Vitruvius Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Anyone knows something about it? I would like a third series with a lot of missing characters... Is that posible? Quote
Lion King Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Honestly, I would love to see the return of Simpsons to the LEGO world with someimprovements. For example, Lisa and Bart would get medium legs while Maggie is “shrunk” to a mircofigure or baby minifigureinstea of “oversized” normal minifigure. Some minifigures may need dual molded legs or arms. However, I don’t know if it would be possible becuase I think the sets ‘ CMF seriies were not sold well. Quote
Felkin Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 I know the previous Simpsons line didn't sell well, but I can't help but think the problem was the price point and the lack of availability. CMFs and D2Cs are less available / less visible to consumers than "regular" sets. Not everyone could afford the Simpsons house, and it wasn't sold by many retailers anyway. And for those adult collectors who COULD afford it, it was highly inaccurate, which doesn't justify the price. And blind bags are more for kids swapping in a playground, not an adult fan wanting to buy a piece of nostalgia. I'd love the theme to return with more accessible sets, both to broaden availability and to spread out the costs of new molds. Ideally, the characters would use standard minifig heads with new hair pieces, so they could have different expressions to help tell stories... not unlike their Lego-fied appearance in the tie-in Simpsons episode at the time. Get some iconic vehicles and locations, maybe some dioramas with quotes from some of the more memed episodes (TLG loves memes), and you've got yourself a best-seller... in my head, anyway. Quote
MAB Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 If they came back, there would be a lot of repeats before they get round to the missing figures. I'd prefer molded shaped heads again. I still can't understand why they did Edna Krabappel and Willie but not Skinner. I can understand leaving out Moe and Barney due to alcohol, even though they could be done in other outfits, but the omission of Skinner is very strange. Quote
Ondra Posted March 21, 2023 Posted March 21, 2023 (edited) Simpsons were weird line and dont miss them by any means. Simpsons as sitcom are past their glory, so Im not interested in them anyway. Not mention theme consist of two hefty D2C sets and only minifigures were on regular sale. This doesnt help me in deciding either. Edited March 21, 2023 by Ondra Quote

There is a Mini-bobble-head toy line which has rubber heads you can just take off and put on a Lego torso. Combined with a custom printed Torso it is the perfect Skinner. Sadly they didn't do Moe, Lenny and Carl. I agree. I'd love to see them back. It is by far my favourite Lego theme. From a reboot with a d2c house each year to a bunch of smaller dioramas there would be huge potential. Quote
Gorilla94 Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 What do you guys think people would be willing to pay for legolike custom resin printed heads of Moe, Lenny, Carl and Quimbi? Made my stl Files as a hobby project for some years. I found the perfect printing service mixing special plastic in yellow and reddish brown. It would cost about twice as much to get 50 sets of heads instead of 1, so I am thinking about selling the other 49... Quote
Huigberts Builds Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 tandnbricks on instagram has been hinting towards a lego Simpsons revival for a few weeks now. In his latest story they show a blue sky with white clouds, hinting at an "ip D2C" set for 2025, described as "clown". Set number 10352 for $229,99 to be precise. One can't help but link the background towards the iconic Simpsons opening (not to mention the simpsons were directly mentioned in the announcement for this post. Add to that codename "clown" and you would think this set has got to be Krusty Burger or something similar. They also mentioned before that one of the cmf's for next year might in fact be a third Simpsons series. Would be very fitting on the 10th anniversary of the last one. Quote

Is he a trustworthy source? To me this seems a bit strange - especially a Krusty Burger, which has much less potential for easter eggs than for example the Comic book store. They could have easily made more buildings in 2016, but now they would need to reboot the whole theme for people who don't have the characters in their classic outfits. And for those, who do have the old stuff there is little new, if they do not introduce a new type of Dual moulded legs where just the shoes have another colour or movable short legs.... The fact that the show's polpularity suffered thanks to the decline in quality should not help very much either ^^' Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 @TandNbricks is a believable source, so I‘m cautiously optimistic! Since there‘s a ten year gap between this and the last offerings, I hope they won‘t „waste“ too many spots on characters we‘ve had before. But if the two LOTR D2C sets are any indication, there should be a healthy mixture of redesigns and new characters! Quote
Legochaek Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 Gosh I would love Simpsons AHHH I had the whole line. Clown does seem most likely to be Krusty Burger though I guess could be Krustyland or Krustylu studios or Itchy and Scratchy diorama. CMFs would be so so so great, could have Skinner, Lenny, Carl, Quimby, Moe, Poochie, Fat Tony, Rabbi Krustofsky, Squeaky Voiced Teen, Kang, Kodos, Reverend Lovejoy, Sideshow Bob. And then you’d have to have the family so new outfits: King Size Homer, Space Homer, Stonecutter Homer, Kamp Krusty Bart, Cool Lisa, Lumberjill Marge with Maggie. That’s 19 though haha so probably much less than that. Quote
Gorilla94 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 Krustyland indeed sounds like a good idea... Lego made a lot of Disney Land sets and there are rumours of Disney taking the IP from Universal Studios to their own theme park. If it gives us more sets it would lessen the pain of loosing one of my favourite IPs in my favourite park :( It would be a way to include popular Charakters like Lenny and Carl without making a Power plant or Moes Tavern. Quote
Huigberts Builds Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 Krustyland would be great as well, one of the view places where Itchy and Scratchy wouldn't look out of place. Then again, Krusty Burger has been going strong on lego ideas for years now, so lego knows there's at least demand for that set. It's also quite a neutral set in which they can easily throw the family members in their standard outfits so that they won't take a spot away from the potential cmf series. Plus an easy way to save on molds/share them with a cmf series (as they probably will have to remake them). And if we got a Skinner and Chalmers in the cmf series a Krusty Burger would be great for the memes. Then there's the question, stick with 16 figures like the first 2 series (just like Disney sticked with 18) or do they go with the new standard of 12? Either way I hope they'll give Maggie the "new" baby mold so that she can come as an accessoire this time around, saves us at least 1 spot. Quote
JohnTPT17 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 This has already been brought up in the Star Wars thread. TandNBricks said directly that "I never said Simpsons S3 is coming." So, I think this is a misread. Quote

TandNBricks said directly that "I never said Simpsons S3 is coming." So, I think this is a misread. Oh? I'm sorry, I don't really check the Star Wars thread (bit too busy), let alone for Simpsons news xD. But that's odd, I distincly remember them answering a question in the Q&A of May 9th about the 2025 cmf series with that the Simpsons "might" return. Although granted they never said S3, just Simpsons so I suppose they were talking about the D2C set instead. Which I guess makes more sense anyway from a business standpoint. I guess it probably went something like this: If I remember correctly the question in question (lol) was something along the lines of "Will any previous cmf serie like Marvel or Disney return in 2025?" and I believe the answer was something like "There's nothing known about the cmf series coming out in 2025 yet, but the Simpsons might return." I suppose they never really specified the way in which they returned and were talking about the D2C instead. I believe after that a question was asked about if the Simpsons would get another D2C, on which they answered something like "Chances are high". I think I mistook that as saying a D2C accompanying the CMF series, rather than them going in more detail about the actual form the theme would return in. Sorry about that. (Although I did say might ) On a sidenote, if anyone was wondering, when I asked them on that same Q&A about whether or not specialised molds would be returning they also answered with "The chances are high". Which ofcourse doesn't confirm anything, but I thought I'd share it with you all. Edited May 23, 2024 by Huigberts Builds Spelling Quote
Classic_Spaceman Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 I find it interesting that two of @TandNbricks’s April Fools leaks are actually coming true - Maybe the joke was that they are all true? 🤔 On 5/15/2024 at 11:00 AM, Rokswi said: Do you remember the list that tandnbricks released on April Fools' Day? 1. Simpson will return 2. Horizon isn't a one off 3. Lottr returns in 2025 4. Pokémon is coming 5. Endor is the next mbs 6. Indiana Jones will return LOTR returning in 2025 seems probable, as the theme has been getting large D2C sets for the past few years. Endor is long overdue for a remake, so that also seems plausible. Indiana Jones returning feels unlikely, but I can see LEGO reworking the theme to focus on large display sets over playsets. Quote

I guess read past that last part. Didn't the story get taken down as well for some reason? As I remember wanting to go back after you answered me in DM's (to read everything a bit more clearly as I kinda skipped through it the first time around) only to find the story gone, might have been an issue with my instagram though, not sure. Either way, I'm sorry for causing any confusion. Quote
Agent Kallus Posted May 24, 2024 Posted May 24, 2024 (edited) All I need from the Simpsons is a steamed hams diorama. ( I might try and make one if we get Skinner and Chalmers) Edited May 24, 2024 by Agent Kallus Quote
