Could Simpsons line of Minifigure series or Sets return?

I'll be waiting to see if they fill in gaps in the minifig roster before buying anything. Skinner, Barney, Moe are top of the list and then Lenny and Carl. 

Hopefully they won't do Smithers, Comic Book Guy, Moleman, Frink, etc again. A new theme might push up the demand of the existing Z list.

It‘s certainly possible they‘re remaking the house after more than 10 years, rather than a location like Krusty‘s. I think the main reason everyone assumed it was the latter was the codename („Clown“), but we know how little most codenames have to do with the actual sets

I can not imagine it being the house. The original was a genius product of it´s time. It was a basic house for those who do not like the Simpsons and ok in details at it‘s time for licence fans. A remake without 2 rows of wall would suck for licenced fans. A house with pink inside would suck for fans of generic buildings. Most fans will have the Family allready. For 220€ i‘d also expect less that wie got 2014

Given the growth of LEGO fandom, I imagine there are plenty of fans of The Simpsons and fans of LEGO that weren't into LEGO 10 years ago.

Or people like me who were into Lego ten years ago but certainly couldn't afford the Simpsons house, or even any substantial quantity of the minifigures (I say this as someone who had one Simpsons CMF during its production life)

I'm one of those. The only Simpsons minifigure I have is Maggie, which my brother gave me years ago. I don't know where he got it. I've been tempted several times to buy the Simpsons family from second hand, but it was very expensive (especially when adding delivery fees). I would be very happy if we get the house again with the whole family.

The return of Simpsons is just a rumor - take it with a mountain of salt. Nothing is confirmed yet - and it many never be.

...and things get canceled or changed at the last minute. I'm just saying - don't count your chickens before they hatch. Until LEGO starts teasing it officially, or pictures come out (even then, it's not unheard of for things to change) it's not confirmed. For example: remember the Survey leak? It had Maleficent in dragon form with minifigures, but the set was released with minidolls instead. Just because somebody saw *something* doesn't mean it will happen that way.

The number of times rumours from credible sources have been wrong in the last couple of years can be counted on one hand though  The only ones that come to mind are this year‘s rumoured Death Star set that turned out to be a Star Destroyer, the infamous Tower of Fate, and Captain Rex as an accessory pack figure. 

You‘re right in that there‘s no absolute guarantee with any rumour, but depending on the source, the accuracy is like 99%. So while it‘s not factual until we see official statements of some kind, we might as well treat it as such

Here's my wishlist for the potential Series 3 CMF:

I know it's more than 12, but the Disney CMF last year did have 18 minifigures, so 18 (This, plus required Simpson family variants, with Maggie as Marge's accessory) could still be possible here.

Good list, when it comes to what characters fans want. I made Skinner, Moe, Barney, Otto, Bob, Quimbi, Lenny and Carl by myself. I doubt a cmf will happen like that. I am 100% sure we won´t ever get Lovejoy in a religious outfit and I just can´t see Lego doing more than 12 characters with the boxes and prices to be honest. At least not for the Simpsons, which lost much of their appeal the last years. D&D2 or something similar maybe.

If we get Otto, Cherry and Terry, I strongly assume it will be in a set, where Otto is clearly in the role of the bus driver. Putting the same figure twice in the series with different accessory would not make much sense. Moulding different heads for different expressions would be too much effort for the twins. Putting just one of them into the box and tell fans to get 2 would feel strange, too. I can also not come up with an idea for interesting accessory for the twins.

Fine, your opinion. LEGO also bends their "rules" whenever they feel like it.

Even if they were to do a series of 12, your top row minus Otto and Lovejoy would be pretty much perfect, leaving six slots for repeats of Homer, Bart, Marge, Lisa and Maggie plus a free slot. Maybe another Krusty to go with Sideshow Bob for those that didn't collect first time around. That top row would have been preferable to most of Series 2.

Would be a great Upgrade for sure. With the Simpsons we got dual moulded arms back in 2014... I'd wish we got new movable shorts legs now.
