Cool little creation! Swap the minifig and it´s an Explorien scooter. The blue and red dishes combined are Exploriens rather than Futuron.

I can't for the life of me remember what the trans colours used for Futuron where (as it's been many years since I last rummaged through my lego) was it just trans blue?

Cool little model.

Many of the space factions had two different transparent colors, a "primary" one for windshields and other large parts, and a "secondary" one for most smaller things like lights and antennas. Futuron used transblue and transred for these respectively, so those colors fit in perfectly fine. Although I think it would look nicer if the two radar dishes in the front were the same color.

Well, Shoc, you know what they say. Great minds think alike :D

Or maybe it's "great minds know their Lego Space subtheme colourschemes" hehe

Thanks for looking.

The main reason one radar dish is red is because when I was building, one wing/thruster was black and the other white due to a parts shortage. (I have very few of those antenna/wing things)

So going with the mismatched colors, I did the same with the dishes.

I've gone and made a LDD version

It's a bit different, but I think you get the same idea.

One nice change is on this one, all of the thrusters can swivel now. Not just the wingtip ones...

One of the main things I like to do when building Lego is to try and create sets that would have fit right in on the shelf along with other sets from my favorite themes as a kid. This is an excellent example of such an attempt. This is the kind of set that I would have happily plunked down my allowance for back in 1989. Great job!
