dutchmadebricks Posted March 11, 2023 Posted March 11, 2023 Constructed: 1633 Demolished: 1864 The Rijnsburgerpoort was a gate in the fortifications of the city of Leiden, Netherlands. It was one of the many gates that surrounded the city and served as a point of entry and exit, as well as a means of controlling access. The gate was located at the end of the current Steenstraat. Just after completing the new train station in 1842, traffic became increasingly intensive. The gate became more and more of an obstacle and finally it was demolished in 1864. peedeejay Posted March 12, 2023 Posted March 12, 2023 Quite a unique building. Especially next to what we usually see in category "Town". :) It's very well build and love the attention to detail, especially around the arch! Quote
A_Forest_of_Lego Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Awesome build! Beautiful work on the façade! Quote
Krol Zmija Sebastian Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Nice size, and nice seeing the back through the center. I also liked the metamorpho. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Wat mooi! Well done, I would have loved to see that in the pirate forum! Quote
Feuer Zug Posted March 13, 2023 Posted March 13, 2023 Stunning work. Too bad they destroyed it. Your LEGO version is a great homage to the city gate. Quote
Blux Posted March 16, 2023 Posted March 16, 2023 Very cool! I scrolled past this one and thought, hey, wait a minute, that looked Dutch :). And yes, it was. Nice build. Quote
