According to @exabricksleogo_ on Instagram, Bionicle will return in 2025.
No details have been provided as to the extent of the return, what the story will be and if it will connect to G1 and/or G2, nor what the sets will be like (though system over CCBS is a safe bet).
Thoughts?

I'm reserved, we don't have much to go off, except a promise by a leaker (which can go both ways) that Bionicle will return. Tempering expectations is very important at this stage. Even if Lego did indeed decide to revive Bionicle, the development time is usually 1-2 years on average, meaning that at best, the development is only half done and in worst case, it's just begun or it's in very early stages. Meaning that a lot of things can still happen (at worst - cancellation of the entire theme as well).

Would I be glad that it's actually true? Yes, but my enthusiasm intensity will depend on the approach they take. A new story won't be as intriguing to me then a retelling of the story, with redesigns of the classic sets, much like the approach to current "tribute sets" for other classic themes (castle, pirates, space etc.). The tricky thing here is that while current tribute sets can stand on their own, without much other context (or supporting sets), Bionicle will in my opinion, need to have some sort of story basis, so the development scope is much bigger than anything attempted by Lego in terms of tributes so far (if the tribute approach will indeed be decided upon and not a creation of a new story).

I seriously doubt the reliability of a supposed leak that's two whole years out. I don't think we've EVER gotten that kind of advance knowledge of a theme, save for things like confirmed movie themes where the movie's release date is known well in advance of the Lego sets themselves.

Personally I don't know how I'd feel about another Bionicle revival. On the one hand, I do love Bionicle, and it was a formative theme for me. On the other... I put a lot of love and energy into the 2015 revival that ended up being for naught. I don't know if I can go through that again.

If anything Bionicle related would come back I'd probably be the most interested in something resembling those 2005-2007 Playsets with more "minifig" scale characters, and locations.

I've been burn too many times. I'd absolutely be ecstatic if this was true but I won't put any stock into it until promobricks or 1414falconfan confirm it. My initial guess would be a line of sets similar to the GWP which would be great maybe even create a few new molds for masks and weapons. My 2nd guess would be something minifig-based using a system similar to the Hero Factory minifigs. I'm 100% down with either one or both. Regardless, it's not going to be ccbs or technic figures again. That time has passed and people need to accept that.

I'm going to take this rumor with a very large grain of salt. So much salt it's going to give me high blood pressure. If the coming of the Toa represents the Great Spirit Robot taking its meds, what would represent the Great Spirit Robot taking a lot of salt on its food? What would represent the Great Spirit Robot having high blood pressure?

Same here, I would have killed for minifigures of the 2015 sets
