The thing with these color variations (that's the main problem) is that they are no longer in one color, in the begining they were more noticeable in the "new brown" pieces but I have variations in tan, orange, yelow, even black pieces

yeah, i hate all the variations too, remember when we had a nice simple palet to work with.

I was a bit shocked to see how different the new colors were from the old ones, but I've taken them more as a challenge and an opportunity than a negative thing in my LEGO building. Mixing the different grays brings a desired uneven texture to a stone surface, for example, and the three browns can be mixed quite efficiently for a worn-out wooden surface. If you want a clean, smooth and unified surface, though, then you have to be careful with the colors.

So really, I don't mind the new colors that much. Although I really can't see any difference in new and old black bricks, as someone claimed. I believe the difference is just that the old bricks have worn out and lost their shade as time has passed. Just like old white pieces tend to get a bit off-white.

The added comics in this topic are still a great fun, anyway!

I missed this earlier. Oh well I have found it now and it looks great. The vignettes are good and the newest one is great.

My problem with colors is not "old vs new" colors. The problem is bad color accuracy, same colors have differences in new bricks, this is a production problem.

Yes there are even different blacks, I didn't belive either till I saw it. The diference is the glossy look, some black (new) pieces are almost matte.

Ahh, that makes sense... I understand that some slope pieces can be matte anyway, but that may not be the case with what you're saying.

I brought up this issue in the questions/concerns Embassy thread. Certain colors are affected much more than others. Unfortunately, I think it's something we're going to have to get used to.

I haven't seen any problems with black though. (which is a good thing, as I use black much more than any other color in most of my MOCs)

Slopes used to have a rough surface for as long as I can remember, but they recently changed all the slopes to be smooth and semi-glossy. Sets at the moment typically come with a mix of the rough and smooth ones, but I think the rough ones are from earlier stock and no longer in production.

No, it have been confirmed that the smoth slopes are due to a problem in the molds. The good are the ones with texture

But is all going to be normal again, as soon as they sell all the "bad" parts they still have in stock

Wow, that 'problem' has been going on for quite a few years now... The only slopes I've had with texture in the last few years are red ones, the others I've had - black, grey and white (I think) - were all smooth. Hmm...

It´s concerns dark blue as well. And this brick is part of one set only.

I still don´t get what is so problematic with producing one color constantly.

Like I said this is my personal list, there are lots of other pieces that I don't even have so no need to talk about them. But the discussion about this thread shows that I'm hitting some weak spots My main goal is to have fun with Lego, with or without bad pieces

I understand that some of you won't understand why I put this piece on the list...

Let me explain. Since the first time I saw this piece I hated it, it's hard to put it in words but I simply don't see the point of this piece, I don't like it shape , it size... I know that it can be used in lots of situations as window arches or else, but as mudguards, please... could't you Lego designers came up with something better

Just one question to prove my point: Show me some good MOCs made by AFOLs where this piece is used as mudguard?

I think it's a fine piece...even if our little LEGO people don't even have to worry about mud .

Those new mudguard can only used when you build wider cars dan 4nops. I also hate those pieces, cause I want my cars 4nops wide. When using these pieces, the car is then 5nops wide .......

But as chair.....great idea!

If you ask me, the mud guard piece isn't nearly as bad as the big helicopter landing skids piece.

They are both bad, but that piece I can't see how to use it as a chair or window arch, so is just another <insert that tiresome argument> big piece like so many others doesn't even deserve my attention

Actually I like those new mudguards... I can think of many new ways to use them, but chairs weren't among them.

I have this big helicopter piece - got it in some big pile of bricks bought somewhere long ago - and I never used it.
