Kliq Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I love these so far! Maybe it's because I'm in complete agreement, as the Exo-Force hair looks horrible amongst regular figs and I still haven't come around to liking the flesh tones. I can't wait for #8! Wilhelm screamer Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I like fleshies and the EF-hair. Same here. Quote
Algernon Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Fleshies are laaammme. LEGO is meant to be yellow! Quote
Zepher Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 While we may not all agree with eachother, these have certainly gotten us talking about the newer and more out-of-place pieces. Great job, waiting for 8... Quote
rriggs Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I defo agree about the fleshies - Minifigs should have yellow skin? Flesh coloured just seems wrong to me - It would be like Matt Groenig changing the colour of The Simpsons!! What I hate more then fleshies (which I have been able to avoid) is the substitution of small pieces for bigger ones - For example, I just bought the 7731 Mail Van and this came with 1x2x2 bricks in place of two 1x2 bricks. This is just cost cutting and unecessary simplifying! Cheers Rog Quote

rriggs Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 What do you mean exactly? Why would it need two little bricks? :skull: Historically, a model like this would have used two 1x2 bricks placed on top of each other. In this new set these bricks have been replaced by a single brick. The point of Lego = Construction toy More bricks = More construction fun Less bricks = Less construction fun Cheers Rog Quote
Dr. Brick Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I must agree with the fleshies... Exo force hair is indeed annoying, but can be used in towns. (green = cabbage, red = the red cabbage, purple = hair of grafiti spraying freak, blue = blue slime puke found in nuclear dustbins ) The material of the hair is pathetic. This is a cool idea for a thread. Dr. Brick Quote
maiq the liar Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 The blue could be used for a raver Anyway, as i was saying...i've made it a habit to sharpie fleshies yellow so they can lead normal lives. Quote
rupi Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Don't want this topic to get cold, so here comes N08 Thank You. Quote
The Rancor Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Ha Ha I know what you mean about giant accessories (definately those scimitars) Do Fabuland tools count as 'Giant Accessories'? Quote
rupi Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Ha Ha I know what you mean about giant accessories (definately those scimitars) Do Fabuland tools count as 'Giant Accessories'? If they are used with Fabuland minifigs but no... lots of Fabuland accessories are used now in regular minifigs sets. Quote
MoWo Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I Like Them!! Nice idea this Top 10! Undersigned MoWo Quote
JimBee Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Haha, giant minifig accessories... what about the troll thing... the spiked rock? Quote
Dfenz Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Nice thread I wonder will those rubber band holders feature on the list. I still haven't figured out a decent use for them yet I'm sure they're not meant to be discarded once the rubber bands have been removed even if the sets themselves do not require them. David Quote
Shoc Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 (edited) Interesting new comic thingy, but... Many books are very big, as I see by the side of me at my desk, and there are some large swords too (maybe not scimitars), so it kinda makes sense. :skull: Edited July 15, 2008 by Shoc Quote
Holodoc Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Really nice thread, rupi! Sorry for dropping in at that point, I must have overseen this great list. Very nice vignettes , you have made so far, always good for a lough. I don´t agree with #10 and #9, but I´m with you with the giant accessories. Especially the books are...big! Can´t you place the suitcase inside the book? Looking forward to #7-#1! Top 10 ON! Quote
Norrington Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I have to say I like fleshies (but sperate from yellow,) and I find exo-hair is good for... oddities. As in, the regular for ravers, and the black for emos. I have to agree with the books. When I want to build something with book shelves, the book shelves have one row taking up a whole wall! Quote
rupi Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 And still going... #07 XL Car Base Some of you probably never saw one, unfourtunately I have one to show you Thank you for staying tuned and commenting Quote
Tenorikuma Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 Mail Van #7731 has one of the smaller car bases. I took mine apart the other day, and it took a good five minutes to coax out the yellow plate that was used to "fill in" the middle recessed section. According to Peeron, this is the only set since 2003 to use the car base. Quote
rupi Posted July 24, 2008 Author Posted July 24, 2008 Another one for the list. This one is not a piece, but several pieces (unfourtunatly) Quote
Zepher Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Your humor is wonderful rupi. I may not agree with you on every one of them, but you present your case in afunny manner, and that's realy all it's about. The minifigs seem know that they're lego, which isn't a normal thing in Lego comics, but it makes it charming and funny. Quote
