Posted July 11, 200816 yr Hello everybody! This late afternoon and evening I designed a new City Moc with LDD: Main Street pieces: 627 price: 92,29 Euros The Main Street is here again! This time it comes with a post office, a green grocer and a bakery. There are a lot of details like e. g. a kitchen, an office and a delivery van. Check it out! Comes with six minifigures and a lot of nice additional stuff. You can see more pics at my Brickshelf gallery (when public). I personally think that the price is ok - since there a three houses with each minimum two floors, six minifigures, a little van and a lot of nice other stuff. I really would like to see TLG releasing something like that since we really need a post office and some shops. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter Edited July 11, 200816 yr by Klaus-Dieter
July 11, 200816 yr Very nice, Klaus-Dieter, this design has a great classic town feel and is crammed with detail. I especially like how the floors of the middle building is staggered slightly against the other two, so that the staircase on the top floor runs to the roof balcony of the adjoining building. Lovely work!
July 11, 200816 yr I like the design a lot. Much details. Is it possible to enlarge the building a little? It looks so small, but very sweet.
July 11, 200816 yr Very nice LDD MOC! I also like the tiny little details. Apart from that, I also like the colour scheme. One colour for one building. Good colour choice! As usual for LDD creations it's quite pricey. But it resembles one of the classic town sets much.
July 12, 200816 yr KD: This is excellent! I think this is your best design from all your collection of LD designs. I love the combinations of three different buildings all with different colors (red, blue, and yellow, all being classic Lego town colors). I've been wanting to create something along this line for a Wild West town after recently seeing a ceramic western building. What really makes this design so special is the numerous details that you've included, like the shade over the blue building, the flowers on the windows, and the patio on the roof. Additional features like the lamp post and the bench add even more nice detail. Your interior design is equally good with tables, chairs, and desks. I really like this and as I've mentioned above, my favorite of your collection. You've really improved over your wild west buildings with this outstanding design. Very nice KD.
July 12, 200816 yr Author Thank you all very, very much for your nice comments! I really like this and as I've mentioned above, my favorite of your collection. You've really improved over your wild west buildings with this outstanding design. Thank you very much, TheBrickster! By the way: This isn't my first City MOC I created with LDD - I designed one some weeks ago you can find here). KD: This is excellent! I think this is your best design from all your collection of LD designs. I love the combinations of three different buildings all with different colors (red, blue, and yellow, all being classic Lego town colors). Very nice LDD MOC! I also like the tiny little details. Apart from that, I also like the colour scheme. One colour for one building. Good colour choice! It's nice that you like the colors. When I desgined this MOC I thought a bit of the official Main Street (which re-designed version from some years ago I luckily own because it is really ) and the amazing 10184 Town Plan ( ) and I thought that a big set with more than only one buildings looks much better if the buildings are in different colors. Very nice, Klaus-Dieter, this design has a great classic town feel and is crammed with detail. I especially like how the floors of the middle building is staggered slightly against the other two, so that the staircase on the top floor runs to the roof balcony of the adjoining building. Lovely work! Nice to read that you like that, too. I thought that a bit variety in design and interior would make the MOC much more interesting and nice looking. I like the design a lot. Much details. Is it possible to enlarge the building a little? It looks so small, but very sweet. It's nice that you like the design, too. Which building do you mean should be enlarged? I thought about giving the buildings a bit more room towards backwards. But this doesn't work very well with the plates available in LDD - and (if you think about playability) a very deep room isn't good for playability . And I wanted to design a MOC in design similar to an official set - and the official buildings are commonly 6 stuck deep . I've been wanting to create something along this line for a Wild West town after recently seeing a ceramic western building. I am really looking forward to see that WW MOC set! Will it be something similar to the official set 365 ? - That would be surely awesome! Klaus-Dieter Edited July 12, 200816 yr by Klaus-Dieter
July 12, 200816 yr Now this is one of the few LDD-designs, that are both beautiful and economically priced. This is your best job on LDD (so far). Excellent! Classic design, although I fear only 4-wide cars are going to fit the scenery.
July 12, 200816 yr Very nice, very good design and build. I do believe that 92.99 is roughly.... 149.99! Not bad considering the content of the set!
July 12, 200816 yr Well done. As has already been stated, you really managed to capture the classic town feel, yet incorporate alot of details that give it a more complete feel. This really is an example of what alot of us wish LEGO would be making. LEGO Town would get alot more of my patronage if they started making sets like your designs.

There really have to be more classic buildings like shops, apartment houses, ... and all that stuff TLG hasn't released now for about 15 years but which is existential for a - not only Lego - city. Now this is one of the few LDD-designs, that are both beautiful and economically priced. This is your best job on LDD (so far). Excellent! Classic design, although I fear only 4-wide cars are going to fit the scenery. Thank you very much, Holodoc! I know that this car (it should be a delivery van for the green grocer) is very amateurish built. But that's not my fault. If LDD would offer more bricks then I would have had the possibility to design the car in one color - and that would of course look much better . I do believe that 92.99 is roughly.... 149.99! Not bad considering the content of the set! I totaloly agree with you, Lt. Col. Thok.! I think that if this or something similar to that would be an official set (of course a bit adapted - mainly the car) then I surely would by it for 92,29 Euros (and even for 149,99 Euros, too - although that would seem to be a bit overpriced to me ). July 13, 200816 yr KD, this is simply the best LDD you have ever created. I love your Main Street Design very much. It's filled with shops that what any LEGO Town, really needs. It can be used to complement modular building such as Cafe Corner, Market Street and Green Grocer. The layout is very nice looking especially the color combinations. So, will you be getting this from LEGO Factory? I will love to see it in real layout if possible. It's a little expensive, but it certainly looks very nice with such fine details. Just curious, is the 3 yellow seats supposed to be a bus stop?

No, I won't buy it since I'll save all my money on either the CG Platform or the CG Petrol Boat & Tower and on next year's SW and City sets (since their surely will be some great City sets (trains and hopefully a post office) and some great SW sets (hopefully some Endor and Hoth sets). But perhaps somebody else wants to buy it. I'd be very interested how it would look like in realitiy if you would upgrade the style of the delivery van and add some stickers to the set. I didn't think much about those three yellow seats. I only thought that in every decent sity there are seats where the citizens can relax a bit during shopping. But of course it would be a neat idea to use it as a bus station . Klaus-Dieter
