Bobflip Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 This one took a while! It's a replica of the Cheesegrater car park in Sheffield UK. Lots of fiddling and cheeky techniques to get the offsets and angles working right on this one, particularly on the sloped sections on the roof. Took around 1'500 parts. Really happy with how it turned out Also for comparison, here's a Google Maps link to the real thing: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Genting+Casino/@53.3772174,-1.4692699,71a,35y,359.05h,68.53t/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x487982823208f455:0x71b2e27f016462f9!8m2!3d53.378439!4d-1.4689651!16s/g/1hhmv0hrl Sheffield Cheesegrater Building by BobKickflip, on Flickr Sheffield Cheesegrater Building by BobKickflip, on Flickr Sheffield Cheesegrater Building by BobKickflip, on Flickr Sheffield Cheesegrater Building by BobKickflip, on Flickr Sheffield Cheesegrater Building by BobKickflip, on Flickr Sheffield Cheesegrater Building by BobKickflip, on Flickr Sheffield Cheesegrater Building by BobKickflip, on Flickr Sheffield Cheesegrater Building by BobKickflip, on Flickr Sheffield Cheesegrater Building by BobKickflip, on Flickr Quote
ukbajadave Posted May 19, 2023 Posted May 19, 2023 Very cool, I love the parking bays on the top level. I couldn't figure out the bus stop as I thought it was 4865 1x2x1 panel but I guess it's actually 4864 1x2x2 panel. There must be some crazy stuff going on inside What made you suddenly decide to make a tiny car park? Quote
Bobflip Posted May 19, 2023 Author Posted May 19, 2023 Thanks, and you're right about the panel! Also can't use the current version 87552 because of the side supports, but I guess you guessed that! And yeah the inside is pretty mad, as refined as I can make it but it still looks chaotic. I fully refined the internals as I'll be making instructions for it later. The reason... I walked past, looked up at the slopes on the sides and thought "I know what piece that is" Quote
jimmynick Posted May 21, 2023 Posted May 21, 2023 Wild! The stairs and ramps are really something, both at ground level and on the top. Nice work and thanks for sharing a slightly more unconventional building. Quote
Rauy Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 Wow, great work! While the shiny facade is a real eye-catcher, all those details, angles and slight height variations are amazing, too. Quote
EvilEnderman Posted June 8, 2023 Posted June 8, 2023 (edited) I could stare at this all day, masterful work. The layered panels as stairs, and the transparent panel as the bus stop though... Edited June 8, 2023 by EvilEnderman Quote
