I've been looking at bricklink and was looking at Zam Wessel when I realised there's a massive price difference between her torso (roughly 5 cad) and legs (nearly 70 cad) price. What's with the discrepancy? Some massive surplus of Zam torsos in circulation?

Honestly could be anything. It could be that Zam's legs are harder to find by searching a description of the legs in BL, and sellers who don't know they're Zam's legs give up trying to list them, not knowing the worth. It could be that like @ForgedInLego says, the legs just break easily for some reason. It could honestly be as simple as someone having army-built characters using zam legs half a decade ago if/when they were cheap. I sell a lot on bricklink and pricing is weird. Stuff drastically increases or decreases in value seemingly randomly.

Yeah it's really weird, I was looking for mainly arms and hands to complete my armless zam with cracked torso, but guess It'll thankfully be pretty cheap to complete a great fig

Maybe because it's sand purple that it is fragile and breaks easily like how dark red and reddish brown used to be.

To be honest I've never had a serious leg break on any colour, it always seemed to me that torsos were the fragile part of a figure, my zam torso has both sides cracked but the legs in perfect condition

In my experience, legs are more prone to catastrophic failure more than any other part. Torso cracking is far more common, but I don't count that as "catastrophic", by that I mean you can't put the fig back together type bad. Think arm hand hole cracked open to torso completely cracked in half which has happened more than once. Plenty of broken hips, light grey, light blueish gray, dark blueish gray, dark tan, of course brittle brown, black... the list goes on. I know I had a Zam at one point, but she got lost over a decade ago so who knows. Collectors probably don't have this problem, but Lego's target audience definitely does

Not sure if this is the right thread, but looking for thoughts on selling some sets.  Should I sell my 2013 Gunship, motorized AT-AT, and original Venetor (modified to be thinner - so incomplete, but I have the figs and the sticker parts - could probably make it complete again) to try to get the UCS AT-AT?  Is it worth it?

From a collection standpoint I collect almost exclusively OT and try to get as close to mini fig scale as I can (Notable missing ships to scale are the UCS-ATAT, UCS Imperial Shuttle, UCS Slave 1, and UCS Falcon which I have playsets for).  I currently have the motorized AT-AT as my AT-AT.  For Clone Wars I have a small group of 501st (that I am keeping), the old venator, and the gunship.  Is the UCS AT-AT worth it?  Are those three sets worth enough to get a shot at the UCS-ATAT?  Thoughts and thanks in advance.

looking for feedback from someone with the UCS AT-AT and one or more of the sets I mentioned.  Wanted ro see thoughts after displaying them for a while.  Thanks.

a MUSEUM in Germany?

Is there a question here?

If so, then yes. It looks like there is an amazing LEGO Star Wars display in Germany.

That actually looks cool. But it’s not a museum it’s a private collection

"Please don't!"

I like the lighting setup. Most impressive.

Actually it is a museum. Or a private collection that is displayed in rooms that are called museum by the owners  It is run by two German youtubers. But I don't know if the bricks and sets are owned by the two youtubers or by their company. So far the museum is open to the public only on a few days. I don't follow them, so I don't know the latest news and if they want to open on more days in the future. Here's the website: https://bobstory.de/

Hypothetically, if I were to one day build an N-1 starfighter and spray paint the respective parts in chrome, couldn’t I just use randomly-coloured parts instead of sourcing all the parts in LBG? Would the colour underneath affect the look of the chrome paint at all?

Depends on the paint and how much you use, it could end up with an inconsistent color with different base plastic colors. I'd suggest doing a test run on a couple random bricks just to be safe

I did that - I went with all LBG to help the consistency unless there was a lego met silver part available.  Lego uses LBG for its drum lacquered parts in silver and gold (if you rub them you will find that's what is under the paint). I'd avoid using anything dark - unless your going to prime first and then your going to get paint build up.

It very likely affects the end result so the base color should be unicolor for the best effect. You may not actually notice the difference between just two individual bricks when testing but you are likely to notice the difference between larger areas later on, so a simple test does not guarantee a good result on a bigger scale.

Though the base color doesn't need to be LGB necessarily, white can in fact be better in order to make the overall look shinier.

New Lego starwars book+minifigure for September in Italy: Link
you can see a Count Dooku at the background. A possible hint of him soon appearing in lego sets? I need a new Count Dooku! the last one was ages ago.

The one on the book cover looks like to have a new hair piece mold - much more detailed similar to detailed hair peice from that old guy from Dreamzzz - so it's similar to a modern lego style of hair pieces..

Unfortunately, that just appears to be his 2013 hair with some shading on it. The figure overall has the 2013 figure's printing, too.

Genuine question, adults fans of Lego.

Do you prefer that we got a UCS version of Jabba’s Sail Barge or would you have preferred a playscale update?

For me, I’d like a world in which we get both. More opportunity for new figures and hits multiple price points, thus audiences.

At the moment, the only reason to buy the Skiff is for the anniversary figure and if you buy the UCS Sail Barge, no?

The UCS Sail Barge is basically a big playset plus it's more detailed than a playscale one so

I would have preferred if

a) the Jabba's Sail Barge included the skiff for the price OR

b) it was smaller and more accessible to the general audience because of the price.

They definitely should release most of the figures in the Sail Barge in a smaller, more accessible set later on. I don't mind if they want to leave some of the guards/prints exclusive. If I did have to choose either option, however, I would definitely choose the smaller playscale update. The current set is so expensive while cutting corners (e.g., C-3P0 not having dual molded legs and Bib Fortuna's fat mold reuse), that it makes me question spending all this money on Star Wars. For that price, I expect premium. Unfortunately, this isn't premium - it's passable. I'll likely buy it on a discount, since I don't own any of the figures yet and I'm excited to have a big Sail Barge! It's not funny that their brand spirit is "only the best is good enough" when they have clearly cut corners in a premium priced set.

Definitely a updated playscale version of the Sail Barge!

I had this hope for the Cantina patrons but it never happened (as of now).

This exactly sums up my feelings on the set. Compare it with the Technic Ultimate sets - that's premium, and they're cheaper than the barge!

Had it included the skiff at the same price point, even omitting the Sarlacc, that still would have justified the price, IMO.

I wouldn’t have minded both. Though if I had to choose I would have gone for a playscale update. The issue I have with the Sail Barge is what is it actually bringing to the table for $500? D2C sets like Cloud City, the Death Star and the Mos Eisley Cantina all had various rooms and play functions plus they came with a wide variety of exclusive and long awaited for figures (and all of those sets were cheaper than the Sail Barge). Sets like the UCS Star Destroyer, Venator, Y-Wing, X-Wing, Falcon blow up ships to an unprecedented level of detail. I don’t think the Barge is a bad set at all but it just doesn’t justify that price point.

I think the Skiff itself could have been included in the Barge and sold as a separate set - they did the same with Keaton’s Batmobile being in the shadow box and sold separately.

I think you need two skiffs to compelte the scene?

The barge and one skiff in one set and a skiff and Sarlacc in another set would have made sense.

Looking for some ideas on displaying sets with the old decipher CCG cards.  I have all the cards and want to display them with the Lego set as a sort of UCS plaque but with the card instead.  ( Would love to print the cards but don’t have a printer and printing a few dozen one offs would not be practical.)

I have seen the minifigure Lego card displays, but am thinking for a standalone display I would need to build something around a card holder.  Any thoughts or ideas?  Thanks in advance.
