Posted June 3, 20231 yr Hi Everyone! I wanted to share my latest build with you all, the Audi Avant RS6 - a special commission build! I wanted to scale the car to the new Daytona rims, thankfully the car itself has large rims from factory. I used Sariel's scaler for proper proportions, 29 wide x 74 long x 23 studs tall. The client was interested in a wide body, so I widened the width of the car to 31 studs, allowing for the large wheel arches. Audi Avant RS6 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr I was very grateful when I found Anto's compact 8 speed gearbox, I asked permission to use it in this model. It was low, allowing more interior room for more of a realistic back seat and rear hatch. Knowing the model was going to be quite heavy, I built 2 suspension hieghts that can be manually adjust by moving the shocks 1 stud in or out to raise or lower the car. Audi in the wild by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Next I really wanted to create a simplified paddle shifter, one that would fit in the 4 stud's of space I had between the engine and the driver seat. Building a robust framework around all the mechanics was the next step. Thankfully when using Lime parts for the exterior, I was limited with basic parts. This made sure I could make many different colour options for the car once complete; red, lime, white and black. The client wanted DBG - so with some modifications he was able to make the car fully with Lego in the new colour (not a cheap option by any means 😜) Audi Avant RS6 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr To add a touch of realism, I added lights to the front and the rear, really this enhances the look of the car especially when taking photos. All in all, it was a great challenge to meet the functional requirements and appearance to follow the real car in size shape and form. I was quite happy with the side mirrors and it was very fun to design the roof rack :) Audi Avant RS6 by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Here is a video of it in action, and a few pics of the final product. Build on guys and gals, you're never too old to enjoy this hobby! June 4, 20231 yr Nice job! I saw this on YouTube the other day, and was pleased to see a model of this interesting, niche car!

June 10, 20231 yr Hey All, another masterpiece from LoxLego and I could not resist to build it directly in DBG with the 42156 Peugeot released in Dark Bluish Gray. Some parts needed to be modified with not to much effort, except the engine front cover due to 64394/64680 not existing in DBG. - all 100% Lego - pieces to be replaced for DBG: 63896, 62462, 65304 - using mudguards from 42156 - change all soft axle to black - modifed single frame grill with horizontal lines - 4 Golden Chrome Rings Part 11010 ---- Special Rims by Systemofabrick ---- Hope you enjoy the pictures :D RS6_1 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr RS6_2 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr RS6_3 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr RS6_4 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr RS6_5 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr RS6_6 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr RS6_7 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr RS6_8 by N2 KAr, auf Flickr Edited June 10, 20231 yr by n2kar_jw
July 3, 20231 yr I created an axle unit with the large shocks, the Daytona differential, and steering by basically superimposing the front and rear axles of the 42143 Daytona into one unit. How does the adjustable suspension work? it says there is adjustable suspension in the Rebrickable description but I don't see any video footage of it. I can't wait to use that super compact flappy paddle gearbox. Anyway great model there, It's everything I, and probably any other serious technic MOC-er hopes to see on a daily basis Edited July 3, 20231 yr by SNIPE
