Has anyone gone to these before? It'll be my first...

Anything special to be on the lookout for? Are the best deals on Sun when folks are loading back up to leave? Do they usually have concession stands?

I went to the Brickfest 2006 event at the same location, although I only had time to go for two of the three days. I remember they had one room with a large selection of sets at 25% off (brought over from one of the nearby Lego stores I think). The independent seller marketplace was a bit disappointing though. Most of the things for sale were at the upper end of Bricklink prices, except for people selling custom parts like Brickarms, and I ended up not buying anything there.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend. However, BrickArms will be there in force with both Will Chapman and obxcrew (one of the BrickArms Forums moderators) attending. If you liked a lot of the neat surprises that popped up at BrickWord, expect more fun and exciting things from BrickArms at BrickFair including never before seen items and prototypes.

Are you going to be giving out the free two-weapon packs again to attendees? That was a pleasant surprise last time around. :classic:

Well - I got my registry in. Can't wait to head down (not to DC on an Aug afternoon, per say, but...). Gonna make sure my camera has extra batteries and my wallet has extra cash!

This is coming up in five days. :classic: My latest MOC is all ready to go, although I probably won't have time to photograph it fully until after the event.

A full schedule is now on the website as well.

Hope you all have a great time !

Try to hook up with each other or wear a special EB-badge, it´s really nice to meet in IRL and then return to EB - trust me, I´ve done it !

And a good full coverage of everything that happened is also expected of you !

I will be hanging around my models pretty frequently tomorrow (the two in my signature along with a large Blacktron II carrier). My badge will have my "CP5670" handle on it, so you can recognize me by that.

That was the best fun I've had in a while. :classic: My new model was a real attention grabber in the space section due to its height and pneumatic functionality (full pictures of it will be coming soon), and I also got an unexpected TLG award, with my older Cosmic Enforcer model catching the Lego employees' eyes. I took about 150 pictures during the event, which I'll upload to Brickshelf after I have gone through them and removed any redundant ones.

They were also giving out lots of free sets in the evening ceremonies. I got a 7992 Container Stacker from a random drawing, and I saw that Dadster got the big Agents truck from winning one of the evening competitions. Congratulations.

Hey - I just got back in tune with my 'puter after the long weekend. Sorry we didn't get a chance to meet in person (I remember the ship, but don't recall a face...), but I agree. This past weekend was really fun. A bit overwhelming with the public stuffed into there at times, but def worth it. I met lots of cool folks and I already plan to go next year, spend more $$$, and meet more folks!

I just uploaded a bunch of misc pics here--->BrickFair'08 pics! Hope you folks who see them enjoy... They start out with Fri arrival and end with Sun morn with QC presentation (one of the best parts by far). I forgot to take a pic of my Angler Fish that won me the Agents truck... :sceptic:

Some of the pics include the Brick Chick's Car (she just had the paint job done a few weeks prior...), The original Police Station (my first "big" set from my youth, the Monks were really cool as they were moved via magnets, etc.

I'm still tired and I can't think what to type...

I was able to stop in for the public hours of Saturday and had a lot of fun. The amount of people (especially pushy little kids) everywhere was, as Dadster said, a little overwhelming, and made it a bit difficult to get around and view things as well as I would have liked, but it's also neat to see such a big turnout for the event.

It was really cool to see everyone's creations in real life... there are some that pictures just can't compare to seeing the real thing.

You can see the pictures I took here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=340365
