Lieutenant Garfield had strayed from the path a few yards when the exquisite monstrosity of a butterfly had landed on his hand. He'd have to write to the Royal Society of Natural Philosophy with a description. Perhaps after the war they could send out an expedition to capture a specimen.

Oh, wow, that's a wonderful pine tree. Reminds me of the 'flavor' we have in my neck of the woods:

Sitka Spruce and their droopy branches.

If there was ever any doubt, you've proved the usefulness of those fern pieces!  I like the variation of colors in the base too, great sideways building.
