I did the same on the Osprey's tail without thinking it could upset anyone... I have to confess that in my opinion some official sets would look better with this too. Wouldn't upset me as I usually remove every sticker when I turn a set into pieces.

I hope so because I just bought the original sticker set for the Barcode truck (not cheap) and had to apply over maximum of 2 parts because ... well ... the contest model is smaller.

I still have some pieces of my 8880 with the stickers applied to those multiple parts (the mirrors), I never wanted to take them apart, just in case I rebuild it... I think Lego got rid of this solution because of that, and while it looks worse, I kind of understand it. But I'd still do a sticker over multiple parts in a MOC :)

July 24, 20231 yr Another question about stickers - can I print original sheet of stickers and use it? I'm not really able to order it before deadline

But if you EXACTLY match the scale I am okay with it. Unless there are objections from other contestants.

I would only add that the color scheme needs to be original, because like you said, modifying them even when they are at scale can open up can of worms.
July 24, 20231 yr Can i do the droideka set 8002? It has the technic logo on the box but i was advised to ask first before undertaking such a project. It has super cool functions and i really wanna try compacting it, perhaps looking at the bakugan mechanism to do the iconic roll and pop up @Jim Edited July 24, 20231 yr by Technic tango

August 9, 20231 yr @Jim I've seen the remark in the TC25 entry topic should contain a picture of the original model. Can I suffice with a render in Stud.io because I've build the original model completely in Stud.io as I don't own the original model. It was during my (early) dark ages when it was issued. I could buy one but all cables will be crumbled and it contains a lot of old grey. I like the model very much but am not keen on owning one. I could also use generic box art images but these will be mostly bad quality as the model is from 1997. Using Stud.io renders also gives me the option to directly compare it with my smaller model. A picture you found online will suffice. An official product picture. It's just to show us which set/model you used. 33 minutes ago, Berthil said: I could also use generic box art images but these will be mostly bad quality as the model is from 1997. This is okay, but studio.io is fine by me too. It's just for reference.
August 11, 20231 yr So many awesome entries and projects so far. I am really impressed. Rating will be very hard.
August 11, 20231 yr Totally agree! This is high level quality. I would totally believe the entries are official Lego sets! Really well done.
August 11, 20231 yr Author Absolutely. And I must admit that I definitely didn't expect this. One of the best contests we had.

August 12, 20231 yr 18 hours ago, Jim said: Damn, judging this won't be easy. All entries can be winners Exactly - that is why I think there should be specific metrics outlined precisely for judging the entries when the contest starts. Without contestants knowing those metrics at the beginning of the contest, you will have to penalise some of them for decisions they made at the beginning or throughout the project, without knowing how it will be judged. But you will have to do it to come up with a list of winners. I'm wondering now what will be the metrics for voting criteria of originality - is it only about build techniques/mechanisms implemented/how they are implemented or is it also about the set that was picked? Will contestants that picked the same set be penalised as unoriginal? Will the ones picking iconic well known sets be treated as not so original? Also we're mostly building cars, bikes, trucks, tractors and construction equipment outside of the contest, so picking something like that may also feel like it's not something original.
