I'm assuming only sets branded with the Technic line are accepted? We couldn't, for example, do one of the Bionicle vehicles which are primarily made up of Technic parts?

That's a difficult one, but since I don't want to open up a can of worms, let's stick to the Technic theme.

Very interesting contest and sounds super fun. Thanks for organising 👍

I’ll try to find some time and join in.
Mentally planning with a chosen set already at least…

Only just seen this, I’ll have to get my thinking cap on. I might make it simple and plan a scaled down version of a set I have … just need to work out what I have 🤣

I know you are good at recreating sets, so we will watch your career with great interest (insert Palpatine voice).

Also, @Jim, this question came up in my entry thread, and I thought it was worth asking here:

Is it allowed to use "loose" shocks from Lego 6.5L shock absorbers? I'm using them in my current entry, though I could fairly easily switch them for rubber bands. I do think precedent would allow them, though, since I used a similar technique on my TC21 transforming Plymouth Superbird, as seen in these pictures:

Thanks!

@Jim

Great! A new contest!

Since there is a limited number of big Technic sets, Is it allowed to choose the same original set than someone else?

It is probably inevitable, so there are no limitations for choosing the same set.

I might choose the 8480 Technic space shuttle. It had that fiber optic glowing thing at the back. Using a red lightbrick to replicate that would be nice but it sounds like the no electronic no led rule doesn't allow that. What do you think?

Using a lightbrick is okay.

If lightbrick is allowed, please be clear about the rules.
1. No electronic components of any kind
2. Only integrated type is allowed (light/sound brick, motor box)
3. Only light sources allowed
Because there is a set like this that probably no one will do, but it has only fiber optic, battery box and wires as electronic components.

OMG here we go again

I will make it easy for everyone and for myself (sorry @JoKo); NO electronics, NO lights, NO leds, NO lightbricks.

@JoKo Let me know if you already ordered ten lightbricks for your build

I have some from Batmobile. I'm not planning to build ten shuttles...

No lightbrick seems fair !

well the original 2001 bionics were technically (sorry for pun) technic so those are on the table
