Bases in this post, he can use tractor tires on tractor

Of course, to be sure better ask @Jim about it

Yes its within the rules, but wont get you any points in this circumstance…IMO

Not that you need anyone to tell you how to build a successful entry but I would stick to the balloon tyres.

I think, in discussions it was already mentioned, that this is shrinking contest, not upgrading etc. So better stay with some balloon tires, I think.

Thanks all for the feedback. After a week to think about it, I'm going to stick with the Balloon tires. It fits the theme a little better, and it causes fewer headaches. I'll make another tractor later with the mud tires.

Like the progress :-)

Imho the only thing that aren't matching are the fenders. Have you tried these fender extension panels? I used them in my TC21 Robo-Tractor and they fit perfectly onto the tractor tires, although connecting them to the body is not that pleasant :-/

Thanks for the idea @Jundis. I gave it a try, but yeah, the connection part looks a little rough, so I scrapped the idea.

OK, I was able to work a little more last night, and below is what I currently have.

The trailer is mostly done, and the tractor is close. I still have some issues with the roof, and I do not yet have rear view mirrors. Also, I would like to add a little more details to the engine. I'll finalize this, then do a final order for parts.

Here is the current stage of the Stud.io file.

Alright, I'm bumping up against the deadline for this contest. The studio file is now done, and I may have asked just about as much from my 8 year old laptop as I will get. It's now time for a new Macbook, so if anyone has any thoughts about hardware specs, please send me a PM. I would appreciate some assistance.

I'll try to get a video posted soon, but that may have to wait until the computer is replaced. We'll see what it can handle in the coming days.

I'm happy to support this fandom!

Alright, my laptop was able to support the completion of this project! It's done! Free instructions may be found at Rebrickable.

I confess, while I like how this turned out, it just doesn't feel like 8063 as much as I wanted it to. Either way, the tractor and trailer have the following features:

  • Tractor steering
  • Front pendular suspension
  • Rear PTO
  • Rear three point hitch
  • Four cylinder fake engine
  • Trailer dump bed
  • Trailer suspension

The little engine.

Below is the full dumping range of the trailer.

Tractor and trailer suspension. Not much articulation, but enough to count the feature.

And just so you don't think the trailer cannot be disconnected, it can! Also here you can see the PTO and the three point hitch. Both are Thirdwigg Farm compatible, even if the scale is a little off.

And just so we don't forget what it should look and feel like, below is the original.

Finally, a little video.

Thanks all for the feedback and critiques. I'm happy to finish another MOC.

Also, it's been a hard week, so I want to give a note of affirmation to @Jim and @Milan for all the work you do here. Thank you for building and supporting this beautiful space here at Eurobricks. These contests are great, and you give so much to this little community. Please hear this little voice affirming your work, your time, and your money to give space to so much creativity, collaboration, and joy for me and so many others.

Know that you are not alone. There are so many here who appreciate what you do. I hope you are able to hear these affirming voices.

This is exactly what you'd get if you used a shrink ray on the original model! Brilliant.

Thanks! Some of the new parts since 2009 help a lot too.

Another great little tractor. It's very cool when the theme of the competition coincides with someone's profile hobby. And you did it 10/10.
I don't have small size balloon tires yet, but your incredible models motivate me to buy them to build these small tractors as toys for my growing son.

I know, it was another lucky contest that was right in my wheelhouse. The front tires are interchangeable between the Jeep tires and the balloon tires. The rear tires are a little harder to get, and have fewer options without making changes to the body.

Another beautiful model from you that could be released as a normal set from TLG.

Thanks again. I truly hope TLG will start making sets like this again.

Great work as always … I’m a big fan of tractors (fault of my dad’s career). Could easily be a mid sized set from TLG

Thanks again, and I'm glad you like it.

I see you finished close to last minute as well :) Nevertheless, it's a nice little tractor, I actually like the way the fenders and solid roof are done, looks more finished than the original!

Thanks again. Yeah, some of the new panels added in the last 10 years have helped to make some fun shapes that were previously replicated with flex axles. I appreciate this change.
