BozonL Posted July 2, 2023 Posted July 2, 2023 (edited) In-N-Out Burger is a very popular burger restaurants in the western United States. The intention of this Lego model is to share the unique atmosphere at the restaurant, and to stir up fond memories of for Lego enthusiasts who had experienced it. This is a modular design, and fits with other Lego modular buildings. Please let me know what you like and/or dislike. MAB Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 It is not really clear if this is meant to be a standalone design or part of the Modulars. There have been literally hundreds of custom Modulars submitted to IDEAS, and none of them have made it. A design needs something to make it stand out from being yet another Modular. I'm not a fan of the pavements/sidewalk as they don't fit with the existing Modular design, the two colour red and white and the rather blocky nature makes it look more like a basic Creator set and it is lacking lots of smaller details that Modulars and larger IDEAS sets have had recently. The brick built sign should probably be 2 bricks wider to add a red border at the start and end to make the I stand out more. It looks quite low for a Modular too. Advertising an actual brand like this is unlikely to help its chances compared to being a generic burger restaurant, and also cuts down on adding more interest through other parts of the build. For example, look at the Downtown Diner. It is a very similar design being a fast food restaurant but adds height to the build and more interest in the upper floors, including the recording studio and the boxing gym. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted July 3, 2023 Posted July 3, 2023 Nice design. It captures the feel of an In-N-Out burger. Quote
