Christian Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I only hope that it'll be available in Germany, too, otherwise I would be really if I am not able to get it since it is a must for every City and environment fan! Im pretty sure that this thing will be available in Europe, because Vestas is a danish company. Quote
legomilk Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 the pics are cool look. Edit by Hinckley: How about when I post that TLG asked us to take the pics down you not re-post them? Quote
metalandi Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I think these will be banned too in a few minutes. But i must say, living at the foot of a windmill isn't really the life style i would choose. Quote
Eilif Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 OK guys, respect TLCś crazy policy (They don´t take care about thiefs selling those sets long before official release, but they complain about one small photo on web ). I appreciate you spreading the word about this new set, but I think you are dead wrong in your assumption that TLG doesn't care about thiefs selling sets before release. They may or may not have caught the thief(s), but the very fact that they requested the pictures be taken down shows that they take this situation very seriously. In other news... I remember hearing something on one of the recent LAML radio podcasts about an environmentaly friendly themed line of LEGO sets. It wasn't presented as an official announcement, but it was mentioned... Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 (edited) the pics are cool look.http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3289269 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3289270 http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=3289271 So the pics are now official, aren't they? (With official I mean in this case that TLG approves this set.) That would mean that we have to expect this :oh: set already this year - perhaps towards Christmas (would be a good point in time, wouldn't it )? Im pretty sure that this thing will be available in Europe, because Vestas is a danish company. Thanks. That raises my hopes! Klaus-Dieter Edited July 14, 2008 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Athos Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 The windmill is way too big, especially for the smaller surrounding elements. Cut that thing down to 1/2 or 1/4 size and it'd be a lot better. Steve Quote
Lord Santos Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Being a person that lives half a km from a windmill, I would want to be really far away, but closer to that set Quote
maiq the liar Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 (edited) *googles "lego set 4999"* A-heh heh heh... ... ... ... Darn it, nothing. ... ... ... Heh, there were links one page back. looks nice, even though i'm not the al gore sort. Edited July 14, 2008 by maiq the liar Quote
The Cobra Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Im pretty sure that this thing will be available in Europe, because Vestas is a danish company. Have Maersk set been available in Europe? Those great trucks came out in my "dark days". As for the wind giant, I hope that's not the ONLY way to own a small Lego house next year. Quote
xzanfr Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 This is a great idea for a set and I think it's well done and scaled correctly (those things are huge!) - but it looks like it'll take your eye out if you got too close There is a certain irony in having 'batteries not included' on the box / instructions!!! Quote
Darth_Legois Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Wow, it does look really cool. I love that...oops! It's gone. Can't post pics of that yet, sorry. It was requested that we remove those pics. Sorry everyone. Have a nice day. Have a "nice" day eh? Aww i didnt get to see them but i wouldnt be too worried since we will get too see them soon like most of the leaked pics... Quote
Svelte Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Brickshelf pics seem to come and go. It does look good, but the size is bizarre. It must be taller than the City crane, surely, and that was already massive. I'm surprised someone hasn't started a thread ''Green BURPs = confirmation of Elflands theme in 2009?' thread yet If it is a promo, that means it doesn't get a release either at retail level or at Shop at Home either, doesn't it? (As opposed to an exclusive, say.) Quote

TLC production site in Kladno, Czech Republic, is one big massive leak at all. It is not about few thiefs, it is about unbelievable lack of control and security. Each new upcoming set has been sold in our country on many different web sites many weeks before official release date, for example Cafe Corner, Boeing 10177, 7723 Police Hydroplane (I was probably one of the very first ones in the world having it at home, see date of my review here on EB), and now this one. Leakage is so, so, so, so massive and public (production workers are so arrogant, that they sell unreleased sets not only here, but on Ebay too), that I cannot hope, that TLC really make some effort to avoid it. I suspect that may be one of the reasons that TLG took back Flextronic's control of the plant this year. http://www.evertiq.com/news/read.do?news=10255&cat=1 I like leaks as much as the next guy, but theft is another thing entirely. Let's hope that TLG can get it together better than Flextronics did. Quote
DJ Force Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I wanna see this, but somehow I seem to never search for the right words. Quote
Mirandir Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I wanna see this, but somehow I seem to never search for the right words. I don't think theres anything wrong with your search terms. It seems like the pictures are taken down everywhere. Usually they can be found on brickshelf. But this time they're removed from there as well. Quote
Karto Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 I finally managed to see three pics of the box (wasn't easy as all Brickshelf folders have been removed). That's an impressive set! Basically it's a giant windmill with a small cottage at its base. It works on Power Functions. You can see on the back of the box that by triggering the motor (in the basement of the windmill) it starts to turn and two lights in front of the cottage starts to glow! Does this mean that Light Posts will come back with the upcoming Power Functions Train line? Now this is definitely a 100+ Euro set, probably around 130 (if it will ever be available of course)... Quote
Bob Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 (edited) I cant find pictures on Brickshelf...Awww. I feel taunted with everyone complimenting the set and me not knowing a thing about it. Its a promo from Vestas. You have to buy one of their windmills to get the set. Edited July 14, 2008 by Bob the Construction Man Quote
The Bricksmith Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 This sound awesome, I hope that this set or other like it will be widely available, I would love a green theme in Lego. Quote
Dragonator Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 This looks like such a great set! I didn't know that this topic existed until a few minutes ago; I first saw this news on The Brothers Brick. They have a picture there too, if anyone is interested, here is a link to their news page. It really does look great, I hope it is released world-wide so I can get one. I never do like it when I can't get hold of a limited edition set because it isn't available in NZ. Quote
Corvus Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Wow! Now that's something. That'd make a great addition to any town. What's with the bird flock on the left side of the windmill, about the same level with the Limited Edition? Don't tell me they're going to get hit by the windmill! Quote
VBBN Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Wow, that looks nice. However, I think I'll pass. I have noe need for this. The cottage looks nice though. Quote
Norrington Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Looks like a great set based on Brickset pictures! Quote
Siegfried Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 hey have a picture there too, if anyone is interested, here is a link to their news page. Fair point... Quote
