i think this set has got people excited for several reasons. 1. Its novelty value, never before have we seen a wind turbine. 2. Not only is it a new idea but one that most of us wouldn't have put in the top 100 city sets lego might produce, so there's a surprise factor there 3. the cottage is cute 4. the words "limited edition" on a box always get hardcore Lego fans salivating for a bit and finally particularly when it is branded with an outside company's name 5. It has a power function that doesn't look overly complicated to build, although who knows how complex it is underneath, ok one more, 6. it could serve as a very expensive fan.

Looks amazing. If it's gonna be an exclusive set........save already. It will be sold for gold at bricklink  ...... :skull: ........ We'll see in future.

One thing is sure, if the price is ok with me........I'll buy it.

Nobody seems to wonder why a promo for sustainable energy needs batteries?

hehe

Nice set anyway ;-)

Because quite a few brands offer batteries that can be frozen in your freezer and recharged.

We have a fair few of these turbines here in Ireland now, although nothing like what I saw in Germany last time I visited. Anyways, this set looks pretty authentic for the subject matter - although even at 2 feet I'm not certain the turbine is mini-fig scale. Any ideas? The hut would be uncomfortably close to the turbine in real life I think!

Looks like a hillock with possible green burps to counterweight the turbine. Nice.

I am guessing this will be pricey not just for power functions but large number of bricks including large ones, and more than a couple of minifigs and accessories too by the looks of it. Hope it is available here in Ireland though, at least on S@H.

I think it is the right scale, I once stood beneath one of these things and they are huge.

The last time a leak came out like this, how long did it take for the set to be released?

I can't wait!

I just saw that in the back of the box there are three steps:

1-You press the lever;

2-Those things start to move;

3-And the lights of the house start glowing :cry_happy:

Do you think that this is a lightbrick comeback???(excluding those read ones from Creator)

Indeed - I meant though that I wondered if it was even big enough to be minifig scale!

That's awesome about the light feature. I haven't seen or read much about power functions - it looks like being a nice incorporation of electric elements into normal (i.e. not technic) sets though.

First I thought that it is a bit too huge, but I checked the site of them and they have a 2,0 MW system with rotors of either 80 or 90 meter length.... guess the scale of tlc's choice seems alright... :classic:

I would have preferred a less green and countryside environment, more harbour and coast like, what is more easy to put into your lego city for some reasons, but whatever. In reality they are also quite more often on the countryside.

And hewman is right, this is too sweet for most of us cause we didn't expect it at all. We will see if it is easy to get or not.

Dear Vestas-Lego Fan!

Thank you very much for your interest in the Vestas Lego Power Plant.

The Vestas Lego Power Plant no 4999, is a special limited edition that was made for Vestas exclusive and therefore not for commercial sale.

If you wish to learn more about Vestas, please visit our homepage at: link

:sceptic:

So, it won't be for sale... It is a set for the company.

I wonder if other power plants are in the line up. probably not as most other green plants are massive (hydro dams, solar arrays, nuclear plants). Can't wait to see the pics. I hope this isn't another Europe-only promo, like the 1854 Velux house or most of the other great promo sets.

I'm guessing they'll be using it as a hand-out on events and/or prices in some sort of lottery/competition.

But I found why they choosed for this type of promotional item on Vestas Homepage.

I'll buy a Vestas windmill to get that set. :sceptic:

It will be available at Bricklink an eBay, I guess, but it will be expensive. But in TLC's point of view I think it's better that they sell it to everybody who wants it because, like now, it's a very high wanted set.

I can only hope that Peeron.com will be able to acquire the instructions and then we can all buy the parts from bricklink shops and build the thing by ourselves...

I was hoping the same. But they should put the instructions on LEGO.com as they normally do.

I still can't understand that a set like that is limited to one company. Maybe Vestas just says that to divert attetion of the topic... probally not. :cry_sad:

Quick! Look! Not mine, just saw it on Brickshelf! What I dont understand is why this will be a company exclusive , as those people probably look at them all day, and why they would a want 3 ft tall one in their house is beyond me. *huh* I think if they released this, at least on S@H they could educate the public on the energy source...

This is nothing short of AMAZING. I will do everything possible to get this set, including robbing, maiming, murdering and anything else*!

*Disclaimer: I won't actually do these things. ;)

the set is not for sale.

but if we're with them all sends an e-mail that we've intresse then will buy them far.

the more people intresse in the set have the more the chance is high that this set will be bought far.

And I say this not just think I know how lego.
