Medel Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 THE ADMIRAL'S HOUSE This LEGO set is a 14th century house located in an archipelago. The Admiral, a former pirate, hides his treasures in this house which is built on a solid rock foundation. It is designed as a play-and-display set. My love for the pirate theme dates back to my very first LEGO set, Sea Mates (6252). After rekindling many fond memories thanks to the Pirates of the Barracuda Bay (21322), it was clear to me that the Imperials deserved their own comeback. Clearly I wasn’t the only one with the idea but luckily I imagined something to expand on the original theme and this is why I believe the Admiral's house would make a fantastic addition to any pirate layout. When you gaze at it, you can imagine being on the island, surrounded by palm trees, engaging in activities like fishing as a merchant or admiring the boundless ocean from the balcony like an Admiral. It was supposed to be my first ideas project but as it was built with +5000 pieces unfortunately it was rejected. Quote
Jack Sassy Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 A wonderful MOC! Love all those details ye added, rock face is beautiful, just as the house. Outstanding work! Quote
Horation Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Great stuff, I really like the little cave and the bundles of foliage, but I will encourage you to add a little splash effect around the spot where the dolphin is jumping, it would look a lot better. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Beautiful build. From the shore to the roof, it has plenty of details, the minifigures are well posed, and it all fits well. Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Wonderful moc! There are many great details like the crane and guns, the construction site or the admiral's office. My highlighte is the cave and how you shaped it! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 I like this a lot. The colours, the build, the details. Congratulations! Quote

Dolphin is a last minute addition before I upload the pictures on LEGO ideas but it is definetely a good idea. 🙏🏼 On 7/23/2023 at 8:08 PM, Fraunces said: Nice build! Doddsino Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Man, I really did that rockface. Looks like it was smoothed down due to the ocean's tide. Really a nice touch. Quote

Horation Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 @Medel, I'd love to see this as an ideas project, a simple way to get the parts count down is to use DUPLO parts on the inside of the build as supports (they work with regular parts), since you'll need a lot fewer to get the same area covered. Also, and while I really like your water build, I'd recommend making an ideas-only version which has just a few plates for the water instead of this excellent and hyper-detailed water which uses 500+ parts. I'm only saying this because It would be really cool as an ideas project-it would almost certainly get 10k. Quote

I am really happy when people say they wanna see it as an ideas project. The interior of the rock foundation is already duplo. You are right, the water area may be kept more simple to reduce part number. Not this time but later I may join ideas with another project. I will be in ideas anyhow. Regards my friend. Quote
