Wow, not sure how I missed this thread until now.

The Parisian Restaurant used to be my favorite, but the Boutique Hotel overtook it. I recently just rebuilt both at the same time (I don't display my modulars), and the choice was easy. Parisian Restaurant is great though. It sat at the top for a long time. AS is great too, but even though it is simpler, there is just something about the Brick Bank that I love, so it sits third for me just ahead of AS.

1. Boutique Hotel  2. Parisian Restaurant  3. Brick Bank  4. Assembly Square  5. Corner Garage  6. Downtown Diner  7. Palace Cinema  8. Police Station  9. Detective's Office  10. Grand Emporium.

Then all the rest in no particular order. Mostly I guess I prefer buildings that lend themselves to expansion or changing up the usage (like putting an auto parts store above the garage, and a parts warehouse above that).

1. Boutique Hotel

2. Downtown Diner

3. Brick Bank

But it's hard not to include Parisian Restaurant and Detectives Office. Solid top 5 for all of them.

The Detective's Office got my vote. I love the little story of baking and smuggling cookies. The missing cat for the Detective to find,  and then there's a police woman getting her hair cut at the barbershop unaware of the criminal activity upstairs in the kitchen 😂.

Brick Bank is a close second because I still find it funny how they put a Money Laundering Laundry Mat next to the bank. Plus the ability to do a heist and break into the bank vault is a great play feature.

The Downtown Diner would make my top three. It might not blend in as well with the modulars but it's still aesthetically really nice. My only issue is the lack of open studs for the waitress to stand on.

1) Bookshop

2) Brick bank

3) Parisian restaurant

Probably all equal first - bookshop was the end of my dark age so guess that’s why I am so fond of it

I wander if I build the detective office it will work up the list - do like the story line

This is my ranking, using the popular "tier" method:

The originals just really do it for me. Parisian restaurant and detective's office are pretty prefect too.

1. Assembly Square

2.  Parisian Restaurant

3.  Boutique Hotel

4. Grand Emporium

5. Town Hall

Detective's Office - my first and favourite (perhaps some connection there, particularly seeing as I had a choice of four at the time!)

Assembly Square is next I think - the detail across every floor is fantastic!

Third I would put Police Station - I really like the details inside throughout the station and the old fashioned look.

I suspect Brick Bank will always be my favourite, the masonwork is just so gorgeous and the colours so tasteful. I’ll be very surprised and impressed if they ever manage to top it.

Parisian Restaurant, Assembly square and Brick Bank are my favourites.
Never understood why Detective's Office was that popular :-)
Bottom of our list, together with Corner Garage.
