Skipper 24 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I'm going to Colchester with my school on Thursday I will check there, as well as my Woolies store down town. Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 I am so going to my local woolworths soon! The droid gunship looks great although at £35 it is a bit expensive! Quote
ReZourceman Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Am I seriously the only one that finds £50, thats fifty bloody quid like....the BIGGEST rip off in LEGO history for that set. The wings are pretty much just one plate....and....theres only one mini fig! Its really small! Seriously I am absolutely stunned by that price point. Quote

Separatist Spider Droid 3. Republic Gunship 4. Republic Fighter Tank 5. Droid Gunship 6. V-19 Torrent 7. Magnaguard Starfighter 8. The 'Clunkadunk' Edited July 15, 2008 by The Rancor Quote

Its really small! Seriously I am absolutely stunned by that price point. It sure is! I won't get this set unless I can get it on a sale for 20$. Maybe not even then, because the pilot would be one of the only reasons, and I'm pretty sure we'll get him in a BP or something soon. Quote
Kernow Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 My local Woolworths had the Magna Droid Starfighter for £39.99 today. Nice set, but not a good price. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I wonder why Woolworth's has the sets so early... Didn't this happen with the Indy sets earlier this year? Anyway, only 10 days! Quote
mutley777 Posted July 16, 2008 Author Posted July 16, 2008 which woolworths did you get them from mutley? The guildford branch. Quote
The Rancor Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 (edited) I just been to my local Woolworths, which is quite big, but it had no Clone Wars merchandise at all. Not only were there no Lego sets, but no action figures or other items. I reckon Lego have been surveying this thread the whole time and have told Woolworths chain: "Only sell the products from July 26th!" I would be very interested to know if anyone else finds more CW sets in the UK. This would be only from today onwards however Edited July 16, 2008 by The Rancor Quote
Trudop561 Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 By all the droids of the CIS army you're very lucky to have find these sets before their release! Thanks for the reviews. Do you have already begin to make them fight each other? I thought that when the V-19 Torrent was in landing position, the wings were like /l\ but it appears that no. But I presume that the technic mechanism is complex due to the three wings and landing gears that move in the same time. And for the droid gunship, there's no place to store the two battle droids. So you're must let them somewhere, maybe with another droid set. And for the bomb release mechanism, I don't understand how the bombs are dropped when you turn the wheel. Quote
Ctrl+Alt+Esc Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Hi guys. I posted a review of the new sets here. I picked them up today in a woolworths store!-snip- What Woolworth's was it? Quote
Big Pete Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 What Woolworth's was it? try reading the thread ? The guildford branch. :P These sets all sound a bit expensive to me ... I'll wait for a sale. Quote

I'm 100% sure this is how it works This was me working it out. Edited July 17, 2008 by Ctrl+Alt+Esc Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Yup, you nailed it %100. That's the only plausible way it COULD work and that's also the way shown in the instructions. Quote
mutley777 Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 That is it exactly! The cog on the top hull is connected to the wheel underneath. A quick twist like the graphic shows and the bombs all drop. Quote
chris_austin Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I went into my Woolworths again today to ask a different employee if they had the new Clone Wars LEGO sets in but they weren't sure. I mentioned that they're on sale in another Woolworths (thanks again Mutley!) so the employee phoned their stock room and they said they didn't have them but there is a delivery of new LEGO stock on Monday so it's either more Agents or Clone Wars Pestering Woolworths employees on! Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I am going to the Epsom branch of Woolworths (near Guildford) tomorrow I will see if their are any CW sets there. I am planning to get an agents set though so even if their are any clone war sets I probably wont get any. Quote
Ctrl+Alt+Esc Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Do the clone helmets have features like the old ep2 clones? Or are they just printed cylinders? Quote

Corvus Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I meant like the old episode 2 clones had the "Cheek bones" y'no? Yes, they are shaped helmets, but with a printed visor, so you can have the clone troop's heads rather than the solid black head... If it was printed cylinder, TLC would have a mob of AFOLs banging on their door with pitchforks... Quote

TLC wouldnt DARE do that because they would know that would happen Pitchforks ON Quote
